Dingy Harry demands an apology from Limbaugh Updated: Reid questions Rush’s patriotism

posted at 3:29 pm on October 1, 2007 by Bryan
Send to a Friend | printer-friendly

To whom, Jesse MacBeth, Micah Wright and all the other phony soldiers whom Limbaugh was talking about?

Seriously. This is childish. This demand is coming from a senator who slandered Italian-Americans over 18 months ago and never apologized. It’s coming from the senator who declared the war lost months ago. It’s coming from the senator who declared that he wouldn’t listen to Gen. Petraeus no matter what he said, months before he even said it. It’s coming from the senator who doesn’t know the difference between legal citizens and residents and illegal aliens. It’s coming from the senator who told a room full of school kids that the President of the United States is a “loser.”

It’s coming from a senate majority leader currently leading a congress that’s at 11% approval.

Sen. Harry Reid ought to apologize for his own career before demanding apologies of anyone else.

Update: GOP offers a counter-resolution supporting Rush. It’s silly, but not as silly as Reid’s condemnation.

Look, Sen. Reid, if you’re casting about for someone who actually owes an apology to US troops, start here.

Update: Wait a minute. Wait. A. Minute. Aren’t the Democrats always caterwauling about Republicans questioning their patriotism? Then why should Harry Reid get away with questioning Rush Limbaugh’s patriotism? John over at Verum Serum noticed this section of Dingy Harry’s speech today, and it’s worth a big bright highlight:

“Freedom of speech is one of our country’s most cherished values,” Reid told the Senate. “Nothing sets us further apart than the countries and regimes we oppose than our belief that everyone’s opinion matters, and everyone has the right to express it.

“That is why, when we hear things on the radio that are offensive, by and large, we tolerate them. But last week, Rush Limbaugh went way over the line – and while we respect his right to say anything he likes, his unpatriotic comments cannot be ignored.” (emphasis added)

“…unpatriotic comments…” Reid is questioning Rush’s patriotism. I think an apology is in order.

Silly, I don’t understand why Reid is the majority leader. They have to have a better guy than him.

He’s just trying to raise campaign funds. There are no consequences.

An apology …..

I’m sorry you’re a US senator and majority leader.

fogw on October 1, 2007 at 3:36 PM

Democrats and liberals are forever demanding apologies.

Their whole world has turned into Oprah-thons with apologies, recantations and tearful confessions.

These people are pathetic. No one has been more supportive of the American military than Rush and no group has been more UNsupportive of the military than the Harry Reid-Nancy Pelosi led Democrat congress.

The patriotic servicemen and women of the US MILITARY should be demanding apologies from those Democrat wussies instead.

These senior citizens act more like spoiled 5 year olds. And yet they continue to get elected.
I am not voitng for any incumbent anytime in the forseeable future until we have a complete turn over in the congress. It is pathetic and they are making fools out of all of us.

I’m sorry that a pathetic excuse of a man like you can not only call himself senator but is given a microphone to state your slanders and its taken seriously when a man like you would not be given the time of day otherwise

Rush did apologize this morning. He apologized to the troops for the actions of Media Matters and their minions, saying that they do not speak for the majority of Americans that love and support our troops.Dingy Harry thinks he can ride the lying wave of that propoganda machine? Is he just given a talking point and told to go with it w/o any checking? Any one with any brain can clearly see that the whole Rush attack is a total fabrication and lie.

Indisputable that Rush Limbaugh has fundraised and done more for the troops than Media Matters and MoveOn would ever in a million years - besides flip the troops the bird on a day by day basis.

High NOON at the EIB Network:
Rush Limbaugh calls out Senate Majority Leader “Dingy Harry”
for a showdown on his show at high noon.

Dingy is shaking in his boots and decides to hide in Nancy’s barn.

Jack Kingston (R Georgia) finds Limbaugh at the Cigar Bar and tips him off.

The rest is History!

Rush invited him on the show, though I doubt he has the guts to appear.

They should just poll the active military…who do you think would win in a favorabilty poll between Limbaugh/Reid, Limbaugh/Kerry or Limbaugh/Murtha.

Smart money would be on Limbaugh.

This is Harry Reid over-the-cliff, wallowing in his own leftist pool of lying donkey cesspool, fishing around with his head under swirling liquid poop, looking for a turd to throw, only to find his fried brain as the only turd available.

Harkin imitates a koskook

“What’s most despicable is that Rush Limbaugh says these… things to make more money,” Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa, added on the Senate floor today. “I don’t know, maybe he was just high on his drugs again…. If so, he should let us know,” Harkin told the Senate. “I think the best thing to do is just tune him out. Tune out Rush Limbaugh.”

Our politicians fiddle while Rome burns.

I don’t remember hearing anything about Dingy Harry’s illustrious military career. Does anyone else know anything about it?

Harry Reid epitomizes the term “Mind-numbed robot” and I second the motion that Nevadans apologize for electing him.

Speaking of Rush, I hope some of you got to hear his fantastic interview with Justice Clarence Thomas today.

Buy Danish on October 1, 2007 at 4:01 PM

As usual, Rush is right–you just can’t parody these clowns. Apparently Reid isn’t satisfied with only 11% approval, and won’t rest until he’s got it under 10.

And Harkin’s an *sshole for those comments–since when are Democrats against drugs, anyway?

ReubenJCogburn on October 1, 2007 at 4:02 PM

Reid’s a tool, but come on–where’s the love? I MUCH prefer someone ineffectual in that position, and Reid pretty much epitomizes that.

Doesn’t stop the blood from boiling though.

Vote all of them out. If there is one thing I think most Americans can agree on is that these clowns need to go. I don’t care what party, or what your reason, and there are plenty on both sides, just vote them out. Get off your butts this upcoming year and vote for anybody who isn’t an incumbent. It will take 2 election cycles to get the message delivered, but don’t fall back on the “everybody’s congress critter is bad,,,,but mine” syndrome. Break the cycle of dependance and vote them out.
They barely listened on the amnesty deal and they are continuing to push it through one way or another and they have just quit listening to the average person so send them a message.
Vote out the incumbent!

Well said!

Harry Reid is a complete moron and should be kicked out of the Senate. He has no leadership skills, let alone brain power.

The lies and manipulation that comes out of the Democratic party are a perfect example of how they cannot win on the issues. In a full out debate, they lose every time.

People, politics are going to the crapper. We have real issues to face, and every time I am looking at the latest news, every one of our politians are arguing and squabbling. We need people with vision and clarity. They wonder why their poll numbers are so low… because they have no vision.

This attack is a complete joke and I am sick and tired of the Democratic party. Where are the JFKs? Where are the FDRs? Where are the Harry Trumans?

Oh right, they died and moveon.org took over. The Democratic Party… The party of appeasment, homosexuality, lies, manipulation, socialists, secularists, and “do what you want when you want” agenda.

Besides Harry Reid sticking to the already disproven Rush was calling any negative comment on the war phonys we now have Tom Harken slandering Rush

HARKIN: I’ll just close, Mr. President, by noting that in August, seven soldiers published an op-ed in the New York Times criticizing the current strategy in Iraq. Tragically, two of those soldiers were subsequently killed in action, making the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

I can only assume by Mr. Limbaugh’s definition that they too were “phony soldiers.” Now what’s most despicable is that Mr. Limbaugh says these provocative things to make more money. So he castigates our soldiers, this makes more news, more people tune in, he makes more money.

Well, I don’t know. Maybe he was just high on his drugs again. I don’t know whether he was or not. If so, he ought to let us know. But that shouldn’t be an excuse.

A Democratic Congress is polling at 11% and they’re going to increase thier majority in 08? Oh they’ll say its because the nutroots are all in a huff, but will come back to them.
But if it was the Republican Congress polling at 11%? Yeah, that’s right: its all over for Republicans massive Democratic sweep etc. etc.
Things are looking up for Republicans, in a few months they’ll have a new leader, without the Bush baggage and a corrupt Congress to run against. Perfect.

……we now have Tom Harken slandering Rush

When I think of Harken, two events come to mind.

First, his screeching at the top of his lungs at Wellstone’s funeral, turning a somber ceremony into a full-fledged political rally.

The second, when he was the prominent, grandstanding defender of BJ Clinton during the impeachment hearings.

Harken and Reid, cuckoo birds of a feather.

fogw on October 1, 2007 at 4:23 PM

It was nice of Harry to give Rush’s ratings such a big boost.

Rush skewered Sen. Reid today and challenged him and Harkin to come on his show and say it to his face.

They’re both such cowards. without their speech shields they would never dare say the dishonorable things they do.

That raises an interesting question. Are any of these resolutions (including the original anti-Moonbat one) even constitutional? I don’t know if they technically rise to the level of “laws” or if they could be seen as “abridging the freedom of speech” or not, but it seems less than entirely clear to me. What constitutes “abridgement”?

Again, Democrats are allowed to reflexively question the patriotism of Republicans or conservatives. Indeed, they are chomping at the bit to do so at any opportunity.

Conservatives and Republicans, on the other hand, must never question the patriotism of Democrats.

There is a corollary: mainstream Republican politicians do not question the patriotism of Democrats. Indeed, they bend over backwards to avoid even being credibly accused of questioning the patriotism of Democrats.

Mainstream Democrats, on the other hand, routinely question the patriotism of Republicans and conservatives. Indeed, they are encouraged to engage in such questioning, and the rank and file Democrat base responds to such questioning with applause and encouragement, often declaring that such questioning has been long overdue.

Everybody clear now?

Geez, behold the power that one honest four star General has over bottom feeding liberals.

Not only does he expose them for the lying cowards they really are but Petraus just by reporting with integrity has forced Senator Reid to make a new commitment to Patriotism by insulting one of the most patriotic people in the country.

Now that old Harry has chosen to reinvent himself as an even more ardent Patriot than Rush Limbaugh, all we have to do now is remind him of his go for the win commitment any time he tries to slip back into the capitulate now mode he’s worked so hard to cultivate previously.

In the upcoming funding debate if Reid wants surrender conditions placed on funding he should be asked; so, now you’re less supportive of the troops than Rush…again?

Any idea how many signatures Harry got? And who are they?

But what did Rush say?? On his site, I only find apologies for Media Matters and references to bills condemning him. What was the context?

LOL great point, he did start them rolling with their porpaganda didn’t he.

But what did Rush say?? On his site, I only find apologies for Media Matters and references to

That is all he will ever give. Would you apologize for somthing you did not do? If I intentionaly and falsly accused you of molesting a child that you did not molest, would you apologize for molesting the child? Or, in this case the military.

This is what happens when BOTH sides start throwing around labels like traitor, unAmerican, unpatriotic, etc. The exaggerated outrage is kind of curious in light of the many many times these labels have been used about Democrats at hotair.
It never ends and is fueled by the histrionics from the left and right fringes.
Rush is a big boy and he gets plenty of money for pulling stunts to get attention. His fans defend him and his detractors go ballistic. He smiles all the way to the bank just as Kos does.

Don’t some of you see the pattern?
