Video: Mary Katharine takes the Red Eye

posted at 11:59 am on September 28, 2007 by Bryan

Insulting the hosts’ story choice makes for good TV, but might not help with getting repeat appearances. Just ask the guy to balked when Gut threw to him in a segment that the producers insisted, several times, he wasn’t on the hook for. I knew I should have feigned caring about Britney’s shaven head with more fake raw emotion!

Then again, this is Red Eye we’re talking about, where mocking Gutfeld seems to draw guests into the inner circle. MK will be back on in a week with a recurring gig offered within a month.

First! to swoon over MKH?

saint kansas on September 28, 2007 at 12:04 PM

where mocking Gutfeld seems to draw guests into the inner circle.

Well…. I’ll see if this works……
Seems to me, Gutfeld had to bring on MKH in order to get his ratings up.

Mcguyver on September 28, 2007 at 12:07 PM

There’s a market for unabashedly pro-American programming in America.

I fully agree. It’s presenting it correctly that is the problem. Half hour news hour was total crap. Red Eye could go either way. I honestly don’t think Fox will be the one to really pioneer the new-age conservative show. Someone else will jump on it.

MadisonConservative on September 28, 2007 at 12:16 PM

Heh. She rocked it.

Spirit of 1776 on September 28, 2007 at 12:16 PM

The Gut loved the abuse.
.
MKH is always glowing.

So I hear!

Jim Treacher on September 28, 2007 at 12:22 PM

I tuned in “Red Eye” last night and was very surprised and pleased to find Mary Katharine on the panel. One of the better shows with David Brenner as a guest.

Glad to see that MK will back next week. Though she should have her own week night show.

Jack.

Jack Deth on September 28, 2007 at 12:28 PM

MKH is the perfect guest for Red Eye… MORE! MORE!

D2Boston on September 28, 2007 at 12:30 PM

Red Eye is always fun to watch (it’s crazy but in a good way!) and MKH is always insightful and entertaining. The perfect combination!

Yakko77 on September 28, 2007 at 12:31 PM

Hey Treacher,

I’m STILL waiting for my Red Eye invite.

You would think that my epic love poem to Suzanne Sena would have gotten me a nod.

If I have to write one about Fluffy McNutter to secure a spot, I will. And trust me….no one wants that to happen.

Jack M. on September 28, 2007 at 12:33 PM

good segment.

trailortrash on September 28, 2007 at 12:35 PM

Ahhh, Gutfeld and MKH. What could be better on my DVR? How about cake. . . a cake made out of news.

MCPO Airdale on September 28, 2007 at 12:39 PM

“I’d do her on a trampoline.”

I’ll hafta remember that one.

infidel4life on September 28, 2007 at 12:39 PM

I liked seeing MKH on the show, but she wasn’t as funny as she’s capable of; she was cute and engaging, but her answers were still too serious.

Less pundit, more perv.

Hollowpoint on September 28, 2007 at 12:43 PM

I don’t know who I’d like to do more, Greg or Mary Katherine. They’re both dreamy.

albo on September 28, 2007 at 12:44 PM

Yeah, that’ll be enough of that, sport. Let’s show a little respect, please.

Allahpundit on September 28, 2007 at 12:46 PM

AP, We heard you lost your wisdom. How’s your head feeling?

abinitioadinfinitum on September 28, 2007 at 12:55 PM

Okay, thanks. Woozy from Vicodin, though.

Allahpundit on September 28, 2007 at 12:56 PM

Get well soon, AP.

Allahpundit on September 28, 2007 at 12:56 PM

Here’s to a speedy recovery.

I get the impression that MK can be “edgy” if she wants. In a playful way, of course.

She had a great line on O’Reilly the other night when discussing the morons who tase themselves and their friends, sometimes in pretty delicate spots, and then post the videos online –

“We’ve gone from don’t tase me bro to don’t tase my junk”!

BacaDog on September 28, 2007 at 1:14 PM

MKH was doing her patented “coy upper body shift to the right” so much the camera had to adjust when it went back to her.

Love the Ham.

mojowire on September 28, 2007 at 1:16 PM

Uh, Bryan? Might want to take another look at the second sentence of your post.

Splashman on September 28, 2007 at 1:33 PM

I honestly don’t think Fox will be the one to really pioneer the new-age conservative show.

True, true. FOX isn’t really conservative though, it just plays one on TV.

Lehosh on September 28, 2007 at 1:33 PM

Dammit, Mary K, why must you taunt us with your seeming perfection?

And welcome back, AP. Things were looking dire in your absence. :)

Enrique on September 28, 2007 at 1:36 PM

Splashman on September 28, 2007 at 1:33 PM

Heh. I’m glad someone else noticed. I thought it was some hip vernacular that I was just to un-hip to understand.

BacaDog on September 28, 2007 at 1:37 PM

MHK…. what words to use? Guess hot will just have to do.

spec_ops_mateo on September 28, 2007 at 1:40 PM

MKH even

spec_ops_mateo on September 28, 2007 at 1:40 PM

The segment with Rachel Leigh Cook was the best out of the night. It was almost like watching a train crash into a plane crash into king kong, all in slow motion; yet something epic-ly funny at the same time.

Just one of those interviews that goes downhill but is strangely intoxicating.

TheEJS on September 28, 2007 at 1:50 PM

Do you mean this segment?

and

BacaDog on September 28, 2007 at 1:37 PM

Pretty sure that “throwing it to someone” is TV vernacular.

Back to you.

Karl on September 28, 2007 at 3:34 PM

The Hammer is clearly becoming more and more comfortable in front of the camera. Less ums and ahs than previously. And as she gets more comfortable, the hotness just keeps increasing.

Privatestock on September 28, 2007 at 4:02 PM

She’s a cutie.

Mallard T. Drake on September 28, 2007 at 4:03 PM

I just love it hollywood people are smart because that pander to younge people that are generally liberal stupid .

is it just me or dose MKH have one of the greatest smiles ever ?

somebody has to tell Greg t-shirts and sport coats just don’t work.

mmmmm fiber

Mojack420 on September 28, 2007 at 6:06 PM

They seem to have allot of fun. When is it on?

TheSitRep on September 28, 2007 at 7:22 PM

If I was Gutfeld, I’d introduce MKH by announcing “If insightful commentary was a fart, I’d have her pull my finger!”

radjah shelduck on September 28, 2007 at 8:41 PM

Note: Sadam didn’t say he would leave for 1 Billion, it was 1 Billion and all the info on WMD he wanted.

where mocking Gutfeld seems to draw guests into the inner circle.

The mocking is richly deserved.

Hey Gutfeld, if that is your real name, I’m mocking you myself in the HA comments section.

I know you read them.

I know you’re reading this.

I know all your dirty little secrets.

I can print you a copy and deliver it to you a 3AM in Bryant Park.

I’ll be wearing a football helmet and a hospital gown.

soundingboard on September 28, 2007 at 11:37 PM

The Hammer never drops flops.

Always 110% with a smile.
