Thanks Tony. That was an excellent read. I remember the reports of the jihadis leaving the training camps en masse being reported as the prelude pattern to another major attack like 9/11.

Good to know the miserable bastards were being lured into Tora Bora for methodical extermination. This could indeed change things for the better re aq.

This kind of the point. The Gitmo detainees do have legal counsel, just not ACLU lawyers.

The military (JAG) has told them and informed them of their rights, which is basically that they don’t have any, which opens the door for the ACLU to make another mockery of American Legal Sovereignty.

Question is, are we going to just sit back and watch the ACLU have their way with this?

I of course hope you’re right. I’m not as optimistic. I think it’s inevitible that they’re going to nuke our major cities (plural… not just one.. why people always assume only ONE city is going to get nuked is a mystery to me).

Our country will be a smoldering ruin. I could care less about the retailiation, it wont undo what would have been done.

We’re too feeble to proactively eliminate the threat.

Example: WHY hasn’t Iran been attacked yet? What is this fantasy about diplomacy or sanctions or hoping for a revolution or worrying about foreign public opinion.

Does anyone here really think Iran is going to back down willingly?

If we had real leadership and real men running the country, Iran would have been attacked last year when we issued our red lines and Iran walked all over them.

We’re not going to “win”. We’re going to be hit, devastatingly hard. That’s their objective. That’s how we lose.

I love when terrorists and illegal aliens wrap themselves up in our constitution like a warm fuzzy blanket.

Yeah, it get me pretty worked up too when people who are neither deserving of nor are entitled to Constitutional Rights not only get them but actually have people from our own country who are supposedly on our side fighting tooth and nail to get those Rights to them. The Left gives a higher presumption of innocence to these terrorists than they do to our own troops when they’re accused (usually falsly) of any wrong doing.

We’re not going to win this war. Our enemies are at war. We’re giving them lawyers.

Exactly!! The biases of the MSM are more strongly expressed in what it chooses to emphasize and what it chooses to downplay, than in actual facts. When I tell people how interrogations happen at Gitmo, they are surprised to the point of disbelief. But the MSM isn’t about to explain what actually happens at Gitmo. It doesn’t suit their agenda.

This isn’t to say that the MSM doesn’t get facts wrong. There is still a strong belief in the MSM that the people at Gitmo are for the most part innocent.

Yeah and it over five years before the U.S. even tried him. American involvement in World War II didn’t last five years.

As for KSM, he doesn’t deserve a lawyer. He deserves a firing squad. There’s no question of his complicity in the murders of thousands.

This is the primary reason why I became a 9/11 Republican: because consideratives see terrorism as part of a global war, while liberals for the most part consider it to be a matter of law enforcement.
