Every one of those statements, and countless others, has been disproven, yet the Left repeats them like mantras.

What would be the point at this time? The election is over, and Bush cannot run for reelection. Nothing Bush did, or did not do, during his TANG days has any bearing upon his performance as President today. Even if he was AWOL (and it is clear to me he wasn’t) it cannot possibly be considered an impeachable offense today, especially considering his predecessor was an admitted DRAFT DODGER who fled the country rather than serve.

So what would be the point of manufacturing a law suit to entrap Bush? It wouldn’t resurrect Rather’s career nor his integrity, as the documents he presented on TV were clearly forged.

Anyway, I’m not exactly sure how Rather could even get a deposition from the Bush about his TANG service when all Bush has to do is provide his already publicly available DD214. Bush would be an outside party to the law suit as it stands, unless Rather adds Bush as a defendant. Bush’s lawyers (and he’d have the very best his money could buy, he’s independently wealthy, you know) would quash any questions in a deposition not related to Rather’s claim that Bush put pressure on CBS to fire him. And even then, without Bush being a defendant, whatever Bush did or didn’t do is irrelevant to Rather’s claim against CBS.

In other words, even if Bush personally told Summer Redstone to fire Rather’s ass, so what? CBS/VIACOM punished Rather, not Bush, because there was no employment relationship between Bush and Rather.

Now, if Rather sued Bush for tortuous interference, well, that’d be another story. But, as I understand it, Bush, personally, is not a defendant in the suit.

No, no, no, no, no, Bryan! That font was available in the early 70’s on everyday typewriters available to everyone! Of course, said typewriters cost about ten grand in 1970’s money (which translates to what? About half a million in today’s money?), and probably took a professional printer to run the thing. Makes total sense that a little Air National Guard armory would just happen to have one!
