Now, doesn't that feel a lot better coming in here to have a debate by expressing your opinions without berating others?

Ernesto, those profs may be ignored by the valley girls, who are in university just to kill time and party. But they are not ignored by the intelligent students, who are not quite intelligent enough to understand what "Left" is all about. Young people get so much anti-American rhetoric simply from watching TV, that they need to hear none of that from their teachers. One can dismiss a Rosie O'Donnell at home while sitting on one's couch, but if your professor at school tells you the same thing, except with bigger words, it may very well become part of your belief system.

This is what is happening. Those students, the intelligent ones with good grades who go on to graduate with degrees after studying law, or public policy, or foreign policy, or history, or social studies, etc., they then go on to occupy the seats of power from which they will govern our society, and, by extension, the world. Why do you think the US has devolved so much since the '60s? We were once the champions of the world, hated by no one in 1945, now we are considered both a paper tiger, and a hated imperialist entity the world over. What has changed in 40 years?

I'll tell you. The people who lead us, regulate us, administrate us, and entertain us. They have changed. The ones who do those tasks today are from the hippy generation. Now that they are in power in all areas of society, from the local level city hall, right up to the advisers in the Whitehouse, our society is paying the price. Even in Middle East, we see this. We have a Secretary of State that wants to talk to Hamas, rather than just eliminate them like would have been done 60 years ago. That is just one example. I could go on but I'd be here typing all night.

What's worse, is that some of those hippies are now ensconced in the university system, where they indoctrinate the next batch of kids. And on the cycle goes. That is how the Left can keep control of the various levers of society. They keep control of the universities. That is key. We don't draw our leaders from the corn fields. We draw them from the universities. Whomever controls the universities, controls the politics, controls the future. It's that simple.

<blockquote>But it ought to be exposed, and that’s where Ernesto is wrong to slap at me for posting a little clip.

Bryan on September 26, 2007 at 5:53 PM</blockquote>

Exactly, I got a little distracted and I meant to add exactly that to the end of what I wrote to ernesto. If there is something unethical going on then there is nothing wrong with exposing it. No matter how large or small one considers the problem to be.

I'm looking very forward to seeing this film in its final draft form so thank you for posting this Bryan.

<blockquote>it may be that i stand on the far more moderate end of this community…but am i wrong to feel that things like nutty professors are inconsequential? really?

ernesto on September 26, 2007 at 5:11 PM</blockquote>

Ernesto, allow me to appeal to you moderate tendencies. I believe you may be going a little overboard with your assesment as well. Perhaps the word inconsequential is not giving these profs enough credit. I believe there is some consequence to the teaching practices. The evidence for this we could see and hear as the Columbia students cheered gleefully for Ahmadinejad. I see evidence of the consequences caused by liberal profs everyday as I stroll through Harvard Square in Cambridge MA on a sunny afternoon. Can we agree that there is some consequence to the extreme liberal bias of nutty professors? Can we agree that the consequences are, most often, unfortunate? Can we agree that it is a righteous endeavor to expose such unfortunate consequences?

All that is happening here is speech being countered with more speech. Nobody is saying these profs are doing anything illegal. They should not be punished for preaching the crap they believe. But they should be exposed through the free and open exchange of ideas. That is all this movie represents. That is all Bryan was doing when he linked to this movie.

I need to ask, have you seen the movie ernesto? If not I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say about it once you do see it. One of the main themes throughout is the squelching of free speech on college campuses. Its very eye opening. And ernesto, my moderate Republican friend, the squelching of free speech is and always will be the foundation of fascism.

ah don't give me that. i have a tendancy to think you and those like you give too much credit to some of these wackos. when i see us on the right using the words left and fascist interchangably, as is done on this site often, i cannot help but cringe. me and you would agree on alot mcguyver...you simply see some issues as more urgent and pressing than others.

and when it comes to analysis of higher education, im both a student and staff at an NYC school. i know the drill. ive seen the wacko professors, and though their rhetoric is insane, you'd be surprised how many students ignore it. the problem with academia from a student's standpoint is not its leftist radicalization...but its apathy. there are 3 times more students who dont even know who the iranian president is than those who sympathize with him.

this matter, though outrageous, simply isnt all that important. you give these people too much credit. just as those who at the mere thought of a clinton presidency have nightmares of stalinist iron fisted communism. this is not to say i like clinton...i actually support romney...but wheres the restraint? wheres the grain of salt? it may be that i stand on the far more moderate end of this community...but am i wrong to feel that things like nutty professors are inconsequential? really?

Insisting on final content approval is almost unheard of in this industry.

And the fact that an American university is demanding this, makes it all the more absurd.

You have done a good job in exposing the truth, here.
But from past experience, <strike>Ahmadinejad</strike> ernesto does not respond to the truth.
He merely comes in here to berate the truth seekers/tellers, and then promptly disappears.

Good try though, keep up the pressure.....and welcome to the club.

And Ernesto, if we are going to have a discussion we have to be clear about our terms. The goal of an education is to develop mentally. If the end result of this education is not to seek truth, if it is not to seek accurate, unbiased answers then the student is not becoming more well educated. They are not developing mentally. In actuality they are moving further from the truth. They are becoming more disfunctional mentally. That is the result of this biased education you prefer not to have exposed. It seems that you classify any and all learning experiences as part of the process of education. That is false. Not all educations are equally valid. Not all educations seek truth. Biased teaching only leads to uneducated/miseducated students. There is no benefit to that and it should be exposed for what it is. My goodness.

Ernesto, it is not a coincidence that the same students listening to this professor at Columbia were cheering the President of Iran throughout his antisemetic rant. Did you notice how there was not a peep of protest from the crowd until he crossed the wires in their liberal budding fascist brains by saying something absurd about homosexuality. The student mind is an impressionable one. They are bombarded with garbage from every direction. The texts, the professors, the MSM all give them the same BS story. The result of this is their almost computerized inclination to sympathize with an anti-semetic US Marine murding moster like Ahmedinejad. A movie like this is very important. The only way to wake a person up from brainwashing is to show them the process and source of what has been brainwashing them. These are after all the next generation of leaders in our country. Do we want fascism or freedom?

I guess paying $45K to go to an Ivy League college entitles the student to learn how to ignore his professors.

And how does one go about "calling on the community to ignore CU" without actually pointing out what's wrong with the place?

Of course there is nothing wrong with what they are doing ernesto, you have already been indoctrinated. Were they using the exact same tactics to promote Christianity at any of those Universities you attend you would be infuriated. But they are not and you are not.

<strike>So it’s not a problem to you that CU has a raving anti-Semite on staff but rescinds a speaking invitation to Minuteman Jim Gilchrist, while letting Ahmadinejad speak at the World Leaders Forum?</strike>

no, its not. they can do what they want. if it was the CUNY graduate center or something, id be a bit more miffed, but its a private university, i wont whine about who they let speak.

and either way, this does not represent a failure to educate, just a failure to educate in a way we'd approve of. i dissapprove of the way liberty university educates its law students, but that doesn't mean liberty university fails to educate.

calling on the community to ignore CU...not whining
crying over the fact they let the midget speak and not the minuteman...whining

OK, some of you know that I'm a little slow, so help a brother out. It sounds like showings have not yet been announced except for the opening.

I went to the site and tried to "request a screening", but nothing comes up. It seems like they would want to know where I am emailing from when I make that request, no?

Also, saw no contact info for Evan or Thor or anyone on the site. Meh?
