Ah, but they CAN vote; He gives them official drivers licenses indistinguishable from regular citizens’ which allows them to register to vote. There are at least 40,000 of them issued this year (considering our population is only two million total, that 40,000 is a significant number) The State Republican party has been suing (unsuccessfully) to have the names of those illegals so licensed released so they can compare it to voters rolls. Am I the only one that thinks this is great? The move to the left and the pandering from all of the main democrats to the nutroots has got to have the effect of driving the moderates away from the party. I know quite a few folks that have voted dem all their lives, and they are pissed about all of this. And upset about congress like I have never seen before.

If this keeps up, and the nutroots keep the nominee from moving to the center after the primaries. I expect the Republican candidate to pick up a windfall of democratic voters the likes of which we have not seen since Regan.

I don’t think I agree here. My mother is a good friend of the chairman of the Democratic Party in a rural county. He agreed with us about the immigration issue. There are strong forces that oppose the nutroots within the Democratic party. & we both hope I’m right, though I suppose we’ll see over the next three years.
