These Kos airhead libby-wibby ‘progressives’ don’t appear to see what a self-parody they are…kidz trying so desperately hard to project an image of being educated, intellectually sophisticated, avant garde cosmopolitans.

Yet they constantly betray their pantomime with an endless stream of semantically incoherent & infantile babble.

“Satire”, the art of parody, is something they are shamefully poor at. Also “irony”, the juxtaposition of implications, is another term they attempt to decorate their language with. As for “context”…sheesh…that word is now commonly deployed as meaningless verbal diarrhoea padding.

Where are these kidz learning such pathetic english language skills? Oh yeah…I forgot…gubmint skoolz

Her views would be satirical if she were making fun of people who praise Ahmadinejad for speaking truth to Bush power, but she is one of those people, as is made clear in the interview snippet. . Exactly! This is what I keep thinking every time I hear this "it was satire" defense. Satire is when you make an argument against a certain point of view by appearing to agree with it in a humorous/extreme/mocking way. You expose the folly of that viewpoint by taking it to the extreme. She's trying to defend her own views by taking them to the extreme. It's not that we aren't smart enough to "get it"...there's nothing to get. Whatever it is, since she's clearly defending the core premise/concept of the piece, if not the actual specifics of her argument, it is definitely NOT satire by any real definition.

Impressive how much he had to push and push at the end to get her to agree with the simple statement, “Ahmadinejad is worse than Bush.” And how she after repeated attempts at spin would NOT say it until she was totally goaded into it.

She stuttered and sputtered like she’d be disappeared by dkos operatives if she admitted to that.

If this guy [i.e. Ahmadinejad] … rhetorically is better … around talking about issues of poverty and injustice … compared to our President … what does that say about our President …?

It says nothing. Rhetoric is cheap, and tyrants such as Ahmadinejad and Castro and Chavez are experts at dishing it out for dupes who think that their rhetoric means something other than “I have power and you don’t.” Apparently our faux satirist cares more about rhetoric than reality.

I’m still wondering why Ahmadinejad wasn’t immediately arrested the instant he got off the plane???? Isn’t this the same man who is helping supply weapons to insurgents in Iraq that are being used to kill / maim American troops???

Well the first thing wrong with this world is the whole concept that you “arrest” someone who is waging war on you. If you think monkeyboy got a lot of mileage over speaking at Columbia and at the UN you have no idea what he’d do in a public trial. What’s wrong with America is the fact that we’ve forgotten what it takes to wage war. Ahmadinejad needs to take his own life in a dark dank bunker with his favorite goat at his side.
