Found the car but not the driver (who was undoubtedly hiding on the back portch) they disappear into a “no English speaking” labyrinth of multi-family one and two bedroom apartments. I live in a city that is 50% Mexican (80 miles from the open border and I’m an expert on how much fun it is living amongst all these hard working, law abiding people. Actually many of them do work hard but I assure you that their four offspring families suck up more than they contribute. (let me define “family”. It’s a mother and four children with a male that is or is not the father depending on who’s asking.)Do you have any idea how much four kids are worth in southern California’s welfare system?

In America’s fantasy land it’s no surprise to me that every other illegal female is pregnant. They’re not JUST anchor babies, they’re a means of support. And it doesn’t cost them a thing to have them. Just wait in the waiting room. If you cry out the loudest you’ll be next.

I suspect the website is not updated to reflect the new requirements. But you’re right that DMV will probably still be the department of a 1,000 hurdles.

To get a NYS DL w/o SS card, they are still required to have documentation from SSA:

The USCIS was formerly known as the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).

I doubt the illegals will be lining up to request documentation from INS.

Also, there are hefty requirements for proof of identity and date of birth that will be tough for illegals to provide.

Remember, this is the DMV we are talking about regulations and red tape are their bread&butter.

It’s not just the lawmakers. NYC has repeatedly voted overwhelmingly for the likes of Hillary and John Kerry immediately AFTER being ground zero for the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. This puts them almost in the same area of idiocy as San Francisco.

Of course there are plenty of exceptions among New Yorkers, but there are in San Francisco too.

Your speculation is possible in a few instances, but I believe that one of the real reasons the Left supports the illegals and giving them the vote (via fraud today, and citizenship tomorrow) is that the Left’s class-warfare rhetoric and socialist economic policies have always played well with the poor and uneducated. Just ask the Left’s hero Fidel Castro, and their new pal Hugo Chavez.

A second reason is that the Left is anti-American in philosophy (Note all the “Death to America” foreign leaders who urge Americans to “vote Democrat”) and this is another tactic towards their goal.

My bet is that New York’s DMV is not going to be up on the gazillions of foreign birth certificates out there, their permutations, and what they all look like. Database connections to all of those countries? Forget it. They’re going to wind up just taking any vaguely official-looking piece of paper that gets waved at them.

When they start issuing new driver’s licenses, there’s going to be a deluge… of American citizens who don’t mind forging a bit of paper if it means they can have a spare set of perfectly valid government-issued identification. Libertarians, warm up your laser printers!

Pablo, perhaps you might want to read Val Prieto’s Babalu Blog to see what happened to Elian after he was returned to the Worker’s Paradise before you defend the actions of Reno et.al.

And yes, because of the amnesty provisions for Cuban refugees who make it to US soil, Elian was here legally.

THE PROBLEM (yes, I’m that upset about this mess) is that so-called “undocumented immigrants” flagrantly ignore the law, and their lawbreaking continues to be cheered on by the Democrat Party and a fair bit of the Republican Party. All of this ignorance comes at the expense of national security on many levels, all of which have previously been discussed on this blog.

* Are they seeking amnesty from political oppression in their home countries? Then let them apply for amnesty legally.

* Do they want to live in the US because living here presents a better opportunity for them economically than what can be expected in their home countries? Then let them apply for residence legally.

Otherwise, let them all be deported IMMEDIATELY.

Period.

You know,, at some point,, you gotta wonder,,, are some of these people receiving favors,, possibly,, dare I say,, payments from known or “unknown” sources to make these kind of decisions??

Yes

While we should make it tougher for immigrants to obtain certain documents, we shouldn’t make citizenship a requirement for those documents that are sometimes necessary in order to live and work. That’s unfair.

That hasn’t stopped Democrats in the past, including Bill and Hillary Clinton. Maybe you haven’t seen THIS LETTER which Bill Clinton sent to illegal alien Latinos throughout the country in 2000.

The letter included a fake voter identification card and instructions on who to call if anyone should attempt to stop them from voting.

Democrats have shown absolutely no interest in following laws regarding voting rights. That’s exactly what these drivers licenses for illegals is all about.

That is not the point and you know it.
The point is ILLEGAL immigrants should not be given documents afforded to to legal immigrants and citizens.
Legal immigrants are a welcome and treasured part of our national heritage.
What is unfair is illegals sneaking in and taking over entire voting blocks by using driver license as voter ID.
