Good news: North Korea training Syrian missile engineers

According to ABC Australia.

A report says North Korea has trained Syrian missile engineers and the Arab nation has bartered farm products and computers for missiles from the Stalinist state.

The two countries have recently strengthened missile cooperation, with Syrian engineers staying in Pyongyang to acquire technology, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency said.

The barter system began in 1995 due to Syria’s worsening financial woes.

Syria has shipped cotton, food and computers to North Korea in return for buying short-range missiles, the report said.

One needs food, one wants armaments. It’s a match made in Hades.

Wow. I linked this over in one of my guest posts the other day, but I’d never heard any confirmation for that idea until now.

(I feel a PSI essay from Bryan coming on…)

Since 1995!! Goodnight!! No wonder Cheney is pushing for moves outside the State Dept. What is so strange is how quickly the victory over NK’s nuke program crumbled. It is kind of embarrassing to tout a diplomatic victory only for it to completely collapse in less than a week.

Syria is not important and they would never pose a threat! Just ask Pelosi, she would know from first hand experience. Besides all anyone cares about is what Assad is listening to on his iPod. /sarc

Good thing we’re so trusting with the Norks.

They’d never lie to us.

For good measure, the Iranians and Chinese are also supplying the Taliban.

But Limerick, it was an accident…the damn thing was suppose to fall on the Israeli side of the border…

After the mauling the Syrians received over their own territory in 1982, I think it’s a safe to bet their Air Force isn’t going to try to test the IAF. So odds are it really was just a crash. If the pilot punched out at altitude it might even explain why the plane was flying toward the Israeli border in the first place.
