Battle of the bands: “Don’t tase me, bro,” remixed

Think Progress or Media Matters or one of the left’s other pious schoolmarms gave Glenn Beck the Enlightened Finger-Wag of Shame the other day for saying he can’t get enough of the taser vids. They’ll want to skip this, then, as the ‘Tubers have already turned that corner and made the guts of the incident into noise sausage. The first clip has a jaunty, 80s-ish proto-techno feel to it; the second is more virtuosic and contempo. I lean towards number two but your dancin’ feet will lead you to the truth.
Update: Much less creative than the other two but much funnier.

Anybody else get a kick from the idea that this kid probably isn’t making any money off the phrase “Don’t Taze Me Bro!”? And how soon will it be that he gets smart and tries to trademark that line? What, too late? Too bad!!!
Aint capitalism great!!?
JohnnyD on September 22, 2007 at 1:21 PM

Funny as h …

Love the taser vids, every one of them. They soooo liberal.
petefrt on September 22, 2007 at 1:39 PM
i have to go with taser time.
Mojack420 on September 22, 2007 at 1:46 PM
Everyone must remember this from earlier this year.
kiakjones on September 22, 2007 at 1:47 PM
This one is short, but its by far the best. A renition of ELO – “Don’t bring me down.” You know where this is going:

Jimmy the Dhimmi on September 22, 2007 at 1:47 PM
I like the third one. It’s a toe tapper. I forgot all about MC Hammer and his balloon pants. A blast from the past.
Guardian on September 22, 2007 at 1:48 PM
At 15,000 volts, it’s more like the epilectic slide.
I kinda like the third one. “Stop…Taser time!”
flipflop on September 22, 2007 at 2:05 PM
Wonderful! I vote for the MC Hammer. The Electric Hammer?
Mojave Mark on September 22, 2007 at 2:12 PM
Have to go with Hammer.
JammieWearingFool on September 22, 2007 at 2:19 PM
Gotta go with #3. That was laugh out loud funny.
Babs on September 22, 2007 at 2:19 PM
I gotta go with the Hammer remix, though I really like the ELO bit Jimmy the Dhimmi linked.
Bad Candy on September 22, 2007 at 2:29 PM
Ditto, Bad Candy.
I just tuned it in, gut hurts, tears rolling down my cheeks.
That timing on the mix is awesome.
fogw on September 22, 2007 at 2:37 PM
This one was my favorite:

(Because that’s exactly what I was thinking of when I saw the original.)
Well-Armed Lamb on September 22, 2007 at 2:37 PM
Hammer one was hysterical. A real good laugh. :)

Well-Armed Lamb on September 22, 2007 at 2:37 PM
That was great…….
doriangrey on September 22, 2007 at 2:52 PM
lol, I’d only previously seen the MC Hammer one. Still my favorite, but those other 2 are good also.
RightWinged on September 22, 2007 at 2:53 PM
Thanks Allah. Can’t stop laughing! Britney Spears version rocks too.
For true techno beat though, gotta vote # 1. Burn!
Plus check out this slammin’ and hilarious trance version (skip the creepy 17-second intro on this one though):
“What’d I DooDooDooDoo! DooDoo! DooDooDooDoo! DooDoo!”

Taser Time!
Mike Honcho on September 22, 2007 at 3:10 PM
The second one sounds like the Prodigy, circa The Prodigy Experience, but really bad. I can remember the first time I heard Rick James’ “Superfreak”; all my respect for MC Hammer flew out the window. The man I once idolised as an innovative creative force was nothing but a sneak thief. Bah.
Apeking on September 22, 2007 at 3:20 PM
Hammer’s is the best, you can’t touch that.
Wade on September 22, 2007 at 3:30 PM
Heh, its amazing how many early rap songs were samples from other (usually better) songs. You oughta play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, they have a radio station that plays a whole lot of the songs that got sampled.
Bad Candy on September 22, 2007 at 3:38 PM
I hear Britney really has hit rock-bottem, She is dating Flava-Flav.
TheSitRep on September 22, 2007 at 4:25 PM
You are right on.
That was awesome!
TheSitRep on September 22, 2007 at 4:31 PM
You can go lower then “K-Fed”?
jdkchem on September 22, 2007 at 5:07 PM
Oooowwwww!!

LOL! The Hammer on had me giggling!

I heart the internets.
The Ugly American on September 22, 2007 at 5:59 PM
I dont know whats funnier that MC/tase vid or the comments on the site
William Amos on September 22, 2007 at 6:06 PM
I would be soooo humiliated if that were my son!
CCRWM on September 22, 2007 at 8:16 PM
How about a version that may head to the Grand Ol’ Opry?
Heh. Does taser-boy know that he’s become the laughingstock of the entire country?
Penthesileia on September 22, 2007 at 8:23 PM
Of the first 3 I liked Hammer the best but the one that Well-Armed Lamb linked to was the the absolute best.
imshocked on September 22, 2007 at 10:09 PM
Great handle…like the amazon queen right? Wasn’t that spelled ‘Penthesilea’, though? Only reason I’m asking is it took me forever to learn to pronounce it and your spelling has gotten me confused again.
Someone should forward these videos to Michael Savage; he’s been going on like it’s the end of the world ever since that douche bag got tased.
austinnelly on September 22, 2007 at 10:11 PM
I liked the ELO, but it needed to do something other than loop back around to the beginning of the song. I kept waiting for it to get to the, um, electrifying chorus. As it stands, it’s just the “Don’t Taze Me, ELO” mash-up equivalent of “Chocolate (wait for it) Rain.” Any coincidence that the artiste behind that epic is named
-onday??
Captain Scarlet on September 23, 2007 at 7:36 AM
I liked the Hammer, well armed lamb, and Penthesileia vids.
csdeven on September 23, 2007 at 8:41 AM
I never get tired of taser videos either–as long as it’s a douchebag getting tasered. Gotta love that “Ooooow! Ooow! Oooooow!” Hammer gets the award for comedy, Tom Willett wins with the Unplugged version, and Monty Python takes it in the Spoken Word category.
ReubenJCogburn on September 23, 2007 at 11:24 AM
Hammertime wins . . . easily
Texyank on September 23, 2007 at 12:31 PM
Interesting bit of trivia, if you have lower back problems getting “tased” will relieve it for an hour or so.
