Video: Michelle biffs Geraldo over his super-keen Ahmadinejad negotiation plan

No, they weren’t on together — you won’t be seeing that happen anytime soon, if ever again — but her segment on Ahmadinejad did immediately follow his tonight on “The Big Story.” I don’t know what Geraldo’s thinking with his list of conditions here; presumably it’s just a gimmick to convey to the viewers in bullet-point form the various grievances against Iran. Fine, whatever. The boss tweaks him for daring to even suggest negotiating with terrorists, but since the terms would amount to total capitulation by Ahmadinejad, I don’t see much difference. Plus, he’s 100% right about the lingering disgrace of foot-dragging in rebuilding at Ground Zero.

Exit question: What are we to make of the fact that she called Gibby “Geraldo” at one point?

Update: I totally missed this the first time: “You know what he would have done with Geraldo’s seven-point list? He would have stuck it in his mouth, chewed it up, and spit it out.”

I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

Did I hear MM say the word “SPIT” ?

And I agree, go to HELL Ahmadinejad.
WONDERFUL MM!

Dersu on September 20, 2007 at 8:18 PM

Geraldo makes a good point about the Saudi prince.

Ha, nice closing line quote Michelle!

Spirit of 1776 on September 20, 2007 at 8:18 PM

I missed this live, thanks for the clip Allah.

Sharp mind, clear thoughts, she’s the best of the best.

A lot of us New Yorkers like the international culture that the UN brings to the city, despite all of its aggravations. Young people from across the US gravitate to NYC because it has, as the city advertises, a “Capital of the World” feel to it. For that privilege, they live in tiny apartments and pay astronomical rent. Take out the UN, as the clip suggests, and you detract from that allure just a little bit.

dedalus on September 20, 2007 at 8:31 PM

O dip. Is “Tea With Terrorists” on Michelle’s reading list?
I would be very impressed.

I saw the show. Including when she called John “Geraldo” by mistake and rolled her eyes. I think she’s getting a bit tired of being paired up with him and who can blame her for that?

Connie on September 20, 2007 at 8:40 PM

I know people in Tehran who are amazed that we let his plane make it to NYC.

400lb Gorilla on September 20, 2007 at 8:45 PM

I disagree with Michelle on this one. Of course we should let Ahmagenocide into this country, and we should even let him visit the WTC site. After all, what more picturesque location for the t.v. cameras to record for all posterity how we tasered him and took him into custody?! (And don’t give me any crap about diplomatic privileges, such as those presumably held by the Americans seized in 1979.)

After that, fly the man down to Gitmo, and waterboard him until Guantanamo Bay becomes Guantanamo Beach.

New Yorkers Try To Get Audience With Ahmadinejad
CBS 2 HD Follows Holocaust Survivor, 9/11 Family Member To Iranian Mission

Christine Sloan

Roman Kent is a holocaust survivor. Jim Riches’ son, a firefighter, was killed on 9/11.

“We feel what happened at 9/11 or in the concentration camps all days of our life it does not leave me for a day,” Kent said.

On Thursday, CBS 2 HD followed both men as they tried to get someone from the Iranian Mission to the United Nations to talk to them about President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit.

At the building’s front desk, the men were told by an official, “I’ve given the info to the Iranian Mission and they’ll call you in a few moments.”

Someone from the mission called back, saying she would try to set up an appointment.

“They told me they would call me back,” Riches said.

CBS 2 HD called the mission to ask why Ahmadinejad, whose government — U.S. Officials say — sponsors terrorism, would want to visit ground zero.

A spokesperson told CBS 2 HD Ahmadinejad wanted: “to pay tribute to the people who died on 9/11.”

“For him to come here and lay a wreath where my son died, you know, that’s a smack in the face,” Riches said.

Kent and his brother escaped Auschwitz. His mother, father and older sister were killed by the Nazis. He says Ahmadinejad’s denial of the Holocaust angers him.

“I’ve smelled the burning flesh,” he said. “I have seen the walking skeletons and for somebody to tell me it did not exist there isn’t a word to say insult.”

Added Riches: “I’ll tell you if it comes to him trying to go there Monday, I’m sure we and 9/11 families will block him.”

This is a calling for Michelle you know.

She was born to do this.

Rightwingsparkle on September 20, 2007 at 9:11 PM

Both Michelle and John missed the most idiotic part of Geraldo’s “list”; Geraldo was calling for Ahmadinejadad to denounce this and promise that and John and Michelle both said that he wouldn’t do it. They are WRONG! Ahmadinehkjsejad, and most Iranians (and Arabs, too) have no cultural qualms about spouting bald-faced lies, even in the face of proof against them. Anyone who calls for these people to “denounce terrorism” or “denounce nukes” has not been paying attention to what’s going on. Words are cheap and easy, and anything that requests words with these people is doomed to failure.

And, if I hear one more person complain about ahmadinijanajkad’s denial of the holocaust, I think I might puke. I don’t care what Ahmadinennajad thinks about the holocaust, or anything else. The Euros aren’t denying the holocaust (not for another ten years they won’t, at least) but they are pursuing every policy that would lead to the destruction of Israel. I’d rather they denied the holocasut and left Israel alone. To the Iranians, I don’t care what they think and I don’t understand why anyone else would.

Oh, and if Bush mentions the “Great Iranian people” once more, it’ll also make me puke. I guess he found a replacement for his moronic “Islam is a religion of peace” …

morganfrost on September 20, 2007 at 9:03 PM

Yeah, that’s right — and after we put him in solitary confinement in Gitmo, we should subject him to a steady, continuous 24/7 auditory diet of Barry Manilow recordings.

Excellent choice of words Michelle, you go girl.

MM getting better and better every time. Hey how about a heads up somewhere when you are going to be on. You aren’t on Bill O anymore so I hardly ever get to see it live. Believe me I don’t want to miss ANY of your commentary because it is intelligent and reasoned and PRO AMERICAN.

But really MM, you could be the Ted Turner of the internet, the next Michael Bloomberg. I’ve been planning to do it, but I don’t have the discipline nor the clout.

If you put your own programming on this website on a regular basis (like you do on a limited basis), you could become the ‘foxnews’ of the internet. THIS IS WHERE EVERYTHING IS GOING! You could have Gibson and O’Reilly on YOUR internet channel here doing an interview about major topics.

I’ve had this dream for a while, but this is actually finally a reality with your platform here. Go MM.

Via FloppingAces

In September 1986, I began graduate study at SAIS. Shortly thereafter, Jeanne Kirkpatrick, then U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and a graduate of Columbia’s Barnard College had to decline her invitation to speak on campus because of left wing protests that threatened to disrupt the event if she spoke.

Twenty years later, In October, 2006, we saw how leftists at Columbia rioted to shut down the event where the border security group “Minutemen” were speaking. For a reminder, see this brief video of the riot that ensued.

Iran under the leadership of radicals like Ahamdinejad is directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans.

No doubt, the same left wing fascists who brazenly shut down free speech from “controversial speakers of different views” will embrace the appearance of the lunatic Ahmadinejad.

Via Powerline

From Death By 1,000 Paper Cuts, on Ahmadinejad’s visit to New York:

In a world of perfect karma, Ahmadinejad would be captured by American “students” and held hostage for over a year, paraded before TV cameras and threatened almost daily with death.
The “international community” would be OK with this as long as we didn’t send him to Guantanamo Bay.

Via Mark Steyn on The Corner.

Geraldo is so benign and self-adoring, especially when he signs off. He leaves the impression that he’s so happy that you’re happy that he graced you with his ’significant’ presence. It’s really harmless.

The MM ending “Go to Heelll” was precious.

Entelechy: ‘The MM ending “Go to Heelll” was precious.’

Absodamnlutely!

Uh….

locomotivebreath1901 on September 21, 2007 at 8:28 AM

Exactly…. fly him OVER Gitmo; plant boot on butt and heave him out the door. Don’t waste a chute on him.

Again… thanks for the video. I tuned in late yesterday and only caught ‘My Word’.

Michelle is the absolute BEST! What a command of the facts she has.

dbdiva on September 21, 2007 at 9:05 AM

She can’t understand how New Yorkers can tolerate the Ahmedinajads and Chavezes of the world walking on their sidewalks? I can’t either. I would think that many New Yorkers are disgusted, but have simply learned live with it. One the other hand, NY is bound to have its share of moonbats, who don’t merely tolerate the presence of such tyrants, but welcome it.

Bigfoot on September 21, 2007 at 9:09 AM

She has Geraldo on the brain. Too funny.

Any catch that hilarious toupe that Bollinger wears on the Columbia web site Bio? What a putz.

Manhattan Borough went something like 92/8 in favor of Kerry in 2004. I think the lot of them are quite alright with it, unfortunately. After all, it’s all Bushitler’s fault.

(Leaves for a moment to take a shower to cleanse himself from such thoughts.)

It doesn’t add up, that’s for sure. You’d think that New Yorkers would be up in arms about having to take this crap from the president of Iran. I didn’t think New Yorkers took crap from anyone, and this guy is indirectly responsible for their gaping scar downtown. You’d think they’d be storming their airports’ runways with all the heavy apparatus they could find to keep him from landing. I’ll say it again: it just doesn’t add up.

Which NYC do you live in? Where the international “elite” of the UN not only flout our laws but are allowed to skate any kind of accountability? We have thousands of lawbreakers on the streets because of these people, not to mention the illegals. We don’t need them.

NYC will ALWAYS be international because people come from other countries to be in the USA. Period. We don’t need any stinking lawbreakers and other arrogant asses who feel they are too good to observe the laws and customs of THIS LAND.

Get a grip.

Mommynator on September 21, 2007 at 10:43 AM

“You aren’t on Bill O anymore so I hardly ever get to see it live.”

It’s odd, isn’t it, that Gerald threatened to assault Michelle, and now she’s the one who isn’t on with Officer O’Reilly anymore. Sounds like a hostile work environment to me.
