After the shamnesty debacle, he would have trouble carrying his own state. Same reason Edwards has no chance. When those who know you best don’t support you, you’re done. If Gore had carried Tennessee, Florida would’ve been irrelevant.

Everyone’s a freakin’ hero…the word has lost all significance. He got captured, he toughed it out like a man, did his duty and stayed alive. Brave. Tought. Gritty. Not hero.

Besides, no matter what your definition of heroism, his Vietnam experiences do not give him carte blanche to fark the constitution in the ass. He is incompetent to be POTUS.

Most American heros have come home and have gone on to make an HONEST living. Never to be seen or heard from again. There’s something wrong when you start to not represent or even listen to your own people, and then start to represent an invasion of our country..So many faxes, emails, phone calls and pleas and nothing mattered except the Kennedy clan..

He has been so wrong over the years, and never more so than this one.
But by God seeing a DC guy like him go to the mat for Iraq is the single most mitigating thing I can think of.
Maybe getting his clock cleaned in the Hanoi Hilton did something to his political/moral compass.

So what explains Murtha and Kerry?

This is true.

Although I have been 180 degrees opposed to a lot of Senator McCain’s positions, he at least deserves our respect, and as AP points out, he is a very strong advocate for the right correct philosophy on the GWOT and Iraq.

Although I think his Iraq stance is probably the best out there there can be no forgiveness over the McClain Kennedy ShAmnesty Bill. Walk out of this campaign like the man you once were John not the illegal alien pandering Teddy Kennedy suck up you’ve become.

Good point.

All of us admire his courage in serving in Vietnam.

But we are saddened by his love and admiration of the Mainstream Media.

His idea of rewarding illegal aliens with the gift of USA citizenship was a very, very bad idea. And he paid for it.

And Graham-Amnesty of South Carolina will be the next to fall. He pushed amnesty and “path to USA citizenship” for illegal aliens so hard because he is a big fan of John McCain.

I hope he pulls the plug soon, not because I relish seeing him embarrassed but because he lends a lot of moral authority to the war effort and would have more time to stump for it once he’s out.

How would he finance it?

I love that. If McCain is an advocate of winning the war, what does that make those whom he opposes advocates of?

I’m not so sure. He’s good personal friends with both of them, but Fred has moved away from him on some issues, such as immigration, that he seems to care deeply about. I’d imagine he would not endorse either of them, but he might go after Thompson on immigration, especially since Fred has made noises about trying to repeal birthright citizenship.

I don’t know where he would come down in a Rudy vs. Fred battle.

He’d be for Fred, I’m pretty sure.
