Video: The Yankee Stadium fake proposal prank
posted at 11:55 am on September 19, 2007 by Allahpundit
I’m a week late on this but if not for Karol we wouldn’t have had it at all. So mean it should probably be criminal, although that’s mitigated by the fact that it’s obviously fake, whatever the College Humor guys might have told Deadspin.
Note the fans yelling “no” when the proposal goes up on the board and the PA announcer asks them if she should accept.
Update: What can I say? The woman has influence.

wasnt this already posted, by you, last week?
lorien1973 on September 19, 2007 at 11:56 AM
No. Did someone else post it?
Allahpundit on September 19, 2007 at 11:57 AM
I swear I saw this thing on this site. Coulda sworn you did it. You (or whoever posted it) doubted it was really a prank.
lorien1973 on September 19, 2007 at 12:01 PM
Ace had it last week. And that’s kinda like this site…with more cursing.
sunny on September 19, 2007 at 12:02 PM
It’s not fake. It’s an ongoing prank war between those two. Check it out.
It’s starts off pretty innocuous, but elevates quickly, viciously and hilariously.
SouthernDem on September 19, 2007 at 12:04 PM
I think you might be losing your touch Allahpundit :(
doriangrey on September 19, 2007 at 12:04 PM
Man. And I was hoping -I- wasn’t the one going senile.

Dude, it’s fake. Come on. The slap?
Allahpundit on September 19, 2007 at 12:08 PM
These three are acting.
Zetterson on September 19, 2007 at 12:12 PM
O.T. Does anyone remember that guy who showed up for Brittanys lock up thing? He was some prankster guy from some website. He’s standing behind OJ’s lawyer during the press conference! I think.
Guardian on September 19, 2007 at 12:14 PM
So..ALL of it was a prank…even the couple?
tickleddragon on September 19, 2007 at 12:15 PM
Stupid prank…
However, her reaction was to SLAP the boyfriend…solid visual evidence that women are also most capible of commiting “Domestic Violence”, even in front of 50,000 people.
What do you think would be the reaction of the crowd if he had slapped her in public?
Her excuse of course will be “I was upset at the time…the brut”.

Hey supreme blogger – please tag spoofs, comedy or any blogs that might cause me to snort my coffee/liquids – with a warning: DDARB = Don’t Drink And Read Blogs.
Thank you.
Mcguyver on September 19, 2007 at 12:17 PM
Everything is fake. Even the yankees game, the stadium, etc. Didn’t you see that Osama video? Same thing.
Fake, Fake, Fake…
Why does your screen name continue to make me laugh?
sunny on September 19, 2007 at 12:18 PM
I knew it was fake as soon as she said “yes”.
Ortzinator on September 19, 2007 at 12:19 PM
Have you seen the rest of them? I could see that one might think so based on this one, but I never got the impression the others were even remotely faked.
But if it is, the well done.
SouthernDem on September 19, 2007 at 12:20 PM
*then well done.
SouthernDem on September 19, 2007 at 12:20 PM
Don’t know if it’s fake or not, but both those guys are seriously annoying and unlikable.
BeachBaby on September 19, 2007 at 12:24 PM
I saw this linked from Boortz’ site a while back…if it’s fake they did a good job coz I buy it.
Awesome prank…though a retaliatory black eye would be justified as compensation for the ensuing poontang deficit
Ochlan on September 19, 2007 at 12:25 PM
If it was real, folks, this is NOT a harmless prank. People take marriage proposals very seriously, especially women, and it isn’t acceptable to make a mockery out of that. “Streety Bird” could absolutely institute a lawsuit against the perpetrator of this under standard tort theories.
radjah shelduck on September 19, 2007 at 12:28 PM
The slap hear ’round the world! LOL Great prank!
I don’t know if it was real or fake but Sharon looked visibly upset.
kiakjones on September 19, 2007 at 12:29 PM
Maybe you’re tickled too.
tickleddragon on September 19, 2007 at 12:31 PM
When I asked if all was fake, I was referring to the fact that if they did this and the girl wasn’t in on it…it WASN’T funny. If she was…then WHO the hell were they pranking??
tickleddragon on September 19, 2007 at 12:32 PM
Let me just amend my comment by pointing out that obviously now the Yankees–and probably every other sports team–are going to have to evaluate how they keep this from ever happening again. No doubt some franchises may decide, you know what, it’s not worth the trouble to make certain we’re not being roped into someone’s juvenile practical joke, so we just won’t do this kind of thing anymore. So you in the glasses, thanks for spoiling fun for others through your childishness.
radjah shelduck on September 19, 2007 at 12:37 PM
LOL
What tort theory covers not being able to dip yer wick for a while?
Jus’ funnin’ ;-)
Ochlan on September 19, 2007 at 12:38 PM
Like I said above, I think all 3 are in on the prank. The only people they are trying to prank are the people watching this video attempting to figure out if this is fake or not. Obviously I could be wrong but that is what my insticts are telling me here.
Zetterson on September 19, 2007 at 12:44 PM
That being the case…the prank sucks.
tickleddragon on September 19, 2007 at 12:46 PM
Naah. It will never come to that. There just are not enough people willing to go through with this to affect anything.
Zetterson on September 19, 2007 at 12:47 PM
These guys have been at it quite a while. Amazing they’re still alive.
Valiant on September 19, 2007 at 12:47 PM
Agreed. But I think of it this way… They are three actors who just put on a free show for people. Watching the reactions of the people in the crowd around them was pretty funny no matter what. I guess if you want to see good actors putting on a good show its going to require a few bucks.
Zetterson on September 19, 2007 at 12:52 PM
Agreed. I just went to their site, and boy, is this “prank war” stupid.
tickleddragon on September 19, 2007 at 12:56 PM
hahaha couldn’t get enough eh…
Zetterson on September 19, 2007 at 12:59 PM
Idiot moment on my part, I reckon.
tickleddragon on September 19, 2007 at 1:02 PM
Well ****, then, I’ve gotta get my sorry *** the **** over there more often, ************s.
saint kansas on September 19, 2007 at 1:04 PM
If it’s fake, it’s not funny.
If it’s real, it’s really not funny.
mojowire on September 19, 2007 at 1:21 PM
If it’s real, that little Jewish kid is gonna get his ass kicked by that chick with the fast right hand. And then her fiance…
Jaibones on September 19, 2007 at 1:39 PM
Actually, yes.

Did you look at the previous pranks in that series? There is no way that Streety could possibly sue anyone for anything after #5. That prank was way toned down from their previous ones.
And that girlfriend, if she is real (and I think she is), would know she is dating a guy who is a commedian. If she hadn’t seen those videos already, then she needs a wake up call about evaluating proposals.
pedestrian on September 19, 2007 at 2:18 PM
And that gives us our lesson for today.
If women were in charge of the world there would be no wars.
swami on September 19, 2007 at 2:52 PM
Honestly, if it’s real, it’s a very cruel prank to pull on her.
I don’t see why he wouldn’t have just told her about it and let her play along.
Esthier on September 19, 2007 at 3:18 PM
How much does it cost to put a message on the Jumbotron? The tickets themselves probably weren’t cheap, either. Expensive little prank (or fake show) for these dweebs who probably don’t even have real jobs.
I don’t like pranks, even good ones. No matter how clever they are, they just never strike me as funny. Someone always gets hurt (physically or mentally), and that’s just not amusing to me.
aero on September 19, 2007 at 3:53 PM
I’m guessing you didn’t watch the video. A message like that costs $500.
And these guys both work at Collegehumor.com where they’ve made several videos like this one.
Esthier on September 19, 2007 at 4:40 PM
It was interesting that the guy who was slapped, left his seat, walked up the steps near where the camera was, paused right in front of the camera to rub his sore face and then walked away.
Staged. . . .
Captain Weenie on September 20, 2007 at 12:45 AM
Un/Intentional infliction of conjugal distress.?
Loss of consortium?
And of course, there’s pain and suffering from the slap.
This one just sets up the lawsuit pranks.
soundingboard on September 20, 2007 at 2:39 AM
Yeah, hilarious. Playing with a woman’s emotions is always fun ain’t it? Whatever happened to the code of manhood? Did fathers quit teaching the rules and responsibilities manhood (integrity, honor, duty and respect) after 1985 or something? These guys quit developing mentally and emotionally when they turned 11.
