I gotcha…and usually I agree ’cause I’m flexible about adding skills to get/remain employed, but seeing what he endured makes it tough to maintain that perspective. He’s such a hard worker & so talented, and so reasonable about salary that ‘normal’ competition never worried us, but this was just too much.

No problems, though, you know that…even when we disagree. I just didn’t get what you meant, for some reason. A li’l stoopid today. ;)

Besides, he just got a job, and it’s because you have to be a citizen to work for the company! Go figure, eh?

The gang members, thugs and leeches won’t likely run for the borders quite so quickly. Since we’re unlikely to completely eliminate all illegal immigrants (and possibly not even most), I do fear that we’re most likely going to wind up with only the worst of the lot.

I guess I’m mostly encouraged by this report…but I don’t think I can really be “happy” about it.

No solutions, just a lament.

Now we want to turn the country into an exclusive gated community.

I wasn’t really addressing the whole “illegal alien” issue, as it’s been beaten to death and I don’t think we’re going to unearth any surprising revelations anytime soon.

I was just making a flip comment on the whole “taking jobs” attitude of many people (I wasn’t needling you personally). Like a job is a pork chop that someone took from your husband, like it ‘belonged’ to him…jobs are employers’ to award, and if you get undercut, c’est la vie.

I think it’s sad that you just said that.

America is still a place for hardworking people to come, but guess what, they have to do it legally or, you’re right, we’re NOT interested. I don’t really think expecting people not to break our laws makes us an “exclusive gated community.”

Canada.com is pushing the story ’cause it’s a slam on the US.

Good point, but I bet they’re surprised to see how happy Americans are that this is happening.

Once they find these are alerting Canadians they’ll, they’ll start to neutralize the stories. When the numbers hit the 100,000 the stories be a happy and sanitized “guess the nationality”.

No doubt, Dusty. It will look like the British press’ coverage of their muslim problems, “Mohammed Islami, Yussuf Jihadi, and Osama Mohammed were all arrested … No connection between the perpetrators was readily apparent …”.

By 150,000 they’ll be burying the stories. Before it hits 200,000 the counting will have stopped, the stats blurred, and the pols will hedge and ignore until Canadians wake up one day with 6 or 8 million, just like happened here.

Quebec will secede but I’ll lay two to one odds the official language won’t be French.

They will try to hide the flow, but the Quebecois will react violently to the imposition of Spanish and the rest of Canada will notice the increasing sluggishness of public programs.

In the end, such a population movement would almost surely be enough to tip Quebec solidly into the separation camp, and I don’t think that bodes well for our Union, here. Quebec is a little too close (and Canada is considered too much to be like the US) and its separation would spark secessionist feelings in the US, from Vermont to Utah to the Southwest, that has rapidly increasing populations whose allegiances lie with Mexico and not the US.

This whole illegal movement is the most destabilizing force that we have seen since the Civil War. Very, very dangerous.

Just an FYI, this did happen to my husband. He was unemployed almost 2 years because of sh*t like this, which is why I made that statement.

Would rather not get into details about it, because it’s just too painful, but let’s just say it was pretty clear that even being incredibly reasonable about pay despite his phenomenal talent didn’t make it easier for him.

Enjoy the generous welcome while you can, Jose, it will be short lived, I can assure you that. Canadians may be nutty, but they aren’t stupid, even the cute little seals get their heads bashed in because they deplete the fishing industry resources.

If 180 illegals constitutes a urgent crisis in Windsor what will they think when 12 to 20 million stream across their border asking for handouts or taking Canadian jobs.

His kids earned good grades in school and played with the family pet, a Shih Tzu named Chaparro (Shorty). They were safe and kept out of trouble.

Shame on us for not enforcing our laws in the past but that doesn’t make us the bad guys when we begin cracking down on illegals now. I note with interest that Florida’s illegals are rushing north when the SOUTHERN border (and home countries) are much closer.

When Canadian Emergency Rooms are filled to over-capacity due to illegals seeking minor, non-urgent, outpatient health care, the Canadian calls for “securing the border” will be heard.

Obviously you haven’t seen one of our emergency rooms. The average wait time is about 4-5 hours unless you happen to come in from an ambulance, then you’ll be lucky to spend 2 hours waiting (assuming you survive).

There will be nothing left here!
