Wow, that video was lame. Until 3 min. in. And then it became lame all over again.

Extremely well done. There’s so much crap out there, it’s nice to see some folks with talent.
And don’t get me started on Bill Murray. That hangdog face makes me laugh before he even opens his mouth.
MikeZero on September 16, 2007 at 1:41 PM
That wasn’t funny, it was just strange.
Ortzinator on September 16, 2007 at 1:53 PM
It started fast and slowed which is the reverse of what I prefer but I thought it was a great vid. Lot’s of creative stuff.

That was great!

It’s gonna be a stretch to spin this into a series. Not that they wouldn’t have plenty of real world material–it’s just that the reality of faux news ain’t so funny.

So this is what passes for comedy from the X generation? That generation grew up watching quality writing on TV, how come they can’t produce it themselves?
jihadwatcher on September 16, 2007 at 3:51 PM
I’m wondering if things are rather slow for Murray these days.
georgej on September 16, 2007 at 4:41 PM
Lol! That was awesome.

Wow, talk about lost in translation.

These guys spent a lot of time, talent, and treasure for questionable results.
One star.

Six minutes too long.

It almost didn’t work, but the Blues Bros. t-shirt carried it off.
Fact: Milk was not required to attain drowsiness during that vid.

For the love of god somebody please post this over at New Republic.

Wow. Some strong cynical advice out there.
The vid did seem to run a little long, and a lot was unnecessary; but I think the effort was good, and while the acting wasn’t A-List material, it still deserves more credit than most have been giving.
I doubt I could have produced/written/directed it better, and I’m interested and trying to learn how. Could many who claimed to have wasted their time submit something to compare?
Harsh criticism as noted above makes some (like myself) even more reluctant to even try to produce the short flicks (like this one) I’ve written; some just don’t get the point: to appreciate the writer(s) and director’s work and potential; the quality will get better over time, but you gotta start somewhere. Sure hope when I get the gall to give it a go, some of you aren’t watching…
This parody was made for knee-jerk sh*ts & giggles; the Geico-Cavemen Series of commercials have evolved (pardon the pun) into just that: a series. What’s wrong with some people taking a shot at having fun?
A piece of advice: look at it from the quality of the writing, directing and acting; the cuts and edits and symbolism (the banana = “or else”… then takes the last of it in one big bite, tossing the peel). It’s not to be taken so seriously; why critique it as so?
