Rosie fears what she does not understand, and tries to destroy what she fears.

“don’t believe in class.”
That’s obvious!
jeanie on September 15, 2007 at 10:11 PM
She got tired of the class dynamics between her left and right breast. The left was just way to haughty. Thus, to relieve the tensions in her own body she had to dissolve the idea of class.

Everyone is talking about Rosie’s book regarding her saying Barbra Walters should retire, but one of the most telling parts of the book is where she admits to taking things like baseball bats and breaking her bones. Especially her hands and fingers. She said it made her feel alive when she was cared for. (I suppose she would be a “cutter” today) Anyway, she said that the casts made for good weapons that she would need at night.
She doesn’t elaborate, but it is clear from everything that I have read from her childhood that her Dad sexually abused her. It explains just about everything about her today.
It’s fun to make fun of her, I know. But she is a result of a twisted sick childhood. Her mother dying at an early age seemed to be the least of it.
I feel sorry for her. Sad and sorry.

That sounds suspiciously like “I am what I am because others made me so.” I won’t make fun of Rosie for what happened to her as a child. I will hold her responsible for what she does and says as an adult.
VolMagic on September 15, 2007 at 10:31 PM

Rosie:“i dont believe in class”
Wise choice on her part as even a modicum of couth is probably far beyond her reach. One should never set ones sights too high.
MB4 on September 15, 2007 at 10:46 PM
Ro says after someone suggests that perhaps after she’s been to Israel, she’ll rethink her love for Jimmy Carter:
Jimmy Carter? Jimmy Carter? A complete failure as a president. A man who attempted to negotiate peace in the Middle East only to basically cause the Intifada. Jimmy Carter?
It annoys me that people so blindly love or respect people without bothering to understand the ins and outs of their issues. I don’t mind that Rosie has her opinions, but I wish she would admit to having a bit of an open mind to other opinions and to rethinking her opinions on the odd occasions.
Then again I suppose in order to rethink opinions, you actually have to have two functioning brain cells. And I’m beginning to doubt that she has that. (fire doesn’t melt steel anyone?)
She has no class, she says? Talk about the most obvious statement in the world. Perhaps she and Mr. Streisand can get together and wish everyone a happy 9/11.

Rosie’s theme song -
They say this old bat has no class
Pardon me my manner is my own
I might not climb the gentile ladder
But I can climb the ratings fence
Got no class
I said got no class
I said got no class
I’m just my #ucking self
The network heads try to socialize me
And keep me neatly in my place
Excuse me I’m not a category
And cheap repression’s not my taste
Got no class
I said got no class
I said got no class
I’m just my #ucking self
Even at rare times when I might be gentle
Don’t mean that I’m a gentlewoman
I ain’t no classy art
I am simply what I am
A classless #art!
Got no class
I said got no class
I said got no class
I’m just my indescribable undefinable unique self

Wowwwww. Did she say that? I didn’t know that.
The more I think about it, the more I think you might be right. That’s really awful. If it’s true, you’re right it would explain quite a bit about her today, the sexual orientation, the immaturity, the need for undiluted positive attention, and more. Gosh I hope it’s not true. The very thought makes me sick.
inviolet on September 16, 2007 at 8:08 AM
Might explain Rosie, and why she’s attracted to Liberalism (tearing down established bourgeois social order), but excuses neither (not that you we’re saying it does).
JiangxiDad on September 16, 2007 at 8:37 AM
You’re right, of course. She is responsible for herself & choices now, no matter how horrific her past. Good point about liberalism BTW.

There are millions of Americans and people across the world who have been victims of child abuse who do not behave like this blathering idiot. RO uses this as an excuse and too many others like you excuse her for it. She is far past what happened in her childhood and is now responsible for what she says and does as an adult.
I would bet that before you knew what happened to her as a child you were amongst the many who “made fun of her“, but now you she has an “excuse” you don’t.

ThinkingForMyself on September 16, 2007 at 10:44 AM
Statistically, chances are good that some commenters here went through sexual abuse as children. It’s tragic, yes. But even more tragic when a person decides they’re going to retain their victimhood status throughout life.
Shay on September 16, 2007 at 10:44 AM
I’m one. I wasn’t sexually abused, but I was physically and mentally abused by my mother. I have never considered myself a victim. When I heard of Rosie’s abuse, my first thought was “that is no excuse for the way she treats others.”
moonsbreath on September 16, 2007 at 11:11 AM
VolMagic and ThinkingForMyself,
I’m not excusing her or saying you shouldn’t make fun of her. You should make fun of her ridiculous beliefs and behavior. And I agree that one’s childhood doesn’t excuse one’s adult life. My dad had a terrible childhood and became one of the most wonderful human beings ever. We choose to be who we are, I absolutely believe that.
I was just pointing out how that past made her choose to be wacko today.
Rightwingsparkle on September 16, 2007 at 11:15 AM
LOL! I just can’t help it – that’s pretty darn funny.
inviolet on September 16, 2007 at 11:25 AM
If abuse is Rosie’s excuse for the way she is now, what is the excuse for when people have said, “she used to be sooooooo nice?”
moonsbreath on September 16, 2007 at 11:43 AM
Does not believe in class? As in, does not believe in the tooth fairy? That is, that the tooth fairy does not exist? That class does not exist?
Or did she mean, I do not value class?
I do not believe in Rosy.
shaken on September 16, 2007 at 12:09 PM
Further down “Ro’s” page, you find this.
So there it is, for Rosie O’Donnell. It’s all about ME. It’s always been all about ME. I will say and do ANYTHING to keep the spotlight on ME. I would not believe one word from her book, because, again, she will say and do ANYTHING to keep the spotlight on herself. She is an accomplished, narcissistic liar. Her behavior, I imagine, is owing less to childhood trauma and more to the simple fact that she got the sociopath gene. Sometimes that happens. Let’s stop talking about her…and OJ Simpson…and all the other anti-social sickos who will never change because they’re hard-wired to be lunatics.
Rational Thought on September 16, 2007 at 12:09 PM
Rosie wrote a book? Is it possible to write an entire book in l33t?
aero on September 16, 2007 at 12:53 PM
So R’s childhood was splattered with incidents of self-torture/mutilation? Hardly surprising (if true). If true, it is a sure sign of an intense and irrational need to get attention (step 1 to becoming an actor). If untrue, then it is one more ploy to get attention.
Some people achieve celebrity because they’re extremely good at what they do; with Rosie and her loony left pals, it’s because they will stoop to anything to get attention to fill up that giant black whole where a soul should be.

What do you get when you cross Rosie and a Pig?
Nothing. The Pig wouldn’t do it.
bloggless on September 16, 2007 at 10:14 AM
If Rosie could be crossed with the pig, it would improve Rosie but deteriorate the pig.
- Mark Twain paraphrased
MB4 on September 16, 2007 at 5:05 PM
Hey Rosie: just because you don’t ‘believe in’ class doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist…However, I do understand your response is an admission that you cannot reach that ideal or even try for the common courtesy level.
The commenter is being generous; how can Rosie ‘lower herself’ if she’s already a bottom feeder? The conundrum that isn’t.
Kathy Griffin is stealing her thunder! Rosie, quick! Ya better spew some more offensive invectives.
