Last I looked, Freedom's Watch was about the only one on our side directly engaging MoveOn. Sure, the ad could use some polish, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

You're right, techno. I'd forgotten about that.

I like your idea of using a candidate. Or possibly a vet with a message of, "I came home because I had to. Don't pull my brothers and sisters in arms out while we're taking it to the enemy. Victory is within our reach."

MikeZero,

That was a great idea for a powerful spot! Well done!

But active duty Troops, sadly, aren't supposed to get involved with political messages. More's the pity.

But! You could have someone else do the voiceover praising him and saying essentially the same thing... hmmmm... like say a candidate for POTUS?

I haven't seen these adds on TV, but I've heard something similar on the radio.

This new ad only adds to my anger at the Dumbs.

Just as with the campaign D.A.R.E. had against drugs, if the Dumbs don't comdemn them (moveone.org), they support them.

Mike this idea is awesome!

I’m not crazy about the Freedom Watch ads. The VO bothers me and they have a bit of a “victim” tone. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they’re out there swinging the bat. The first batch just wasn’t a hit for me.

We need some spots with a bit of an @$$kicking tone. Or maybe individual stories of heroism…

“In July of 2007 Marine Sgt. Joe Smith singlehandedly rescued three of his platoon mates who were pinned down by enemy fire. After seeing them to safety, Sgt. Smith rallied his troops, outflanked the enemy and took out an entrenched position, killing twelve al Qaeda fighters”

Cut to hero shot of Sgt. Smith…

Sgt. Smith: I’m Joe Smith. Don’t let the democrats hold us back. We’re winning.

Do you mind if I forward this idea to them?

Moveon's ad is neither clever nor truthful.

Nothing they do has anything to do with the truth as they are simply leftist propaganda artists.

The ad attacking moveon.org will not get much play on the leftist MSM, unfortuantely.

I've seen these Freedom Watch ads but they are kinda hokey. What bothers me most about the new one is when they talk about "name calling". That's pretty weak and sounds whiny.

And who are the people they show on the map? It goes by so fast I don't have a clue what that is all about.

I think they need to mention that every Senator approved Petreaus' nomination and he told them exactly what he planned to do, and he kept his word and did what he said he would do. How can that be a betrayal?

Weren't they "doing Bush's bidding" when they voted for Petreaus?

So the add blames Bush for breaking a promise that the Dems in congress made to their base…how convenient

Exactly. It really is Orwellian.

I think each organization knows its audience and produces their ads accordingly.
Cleverness in advertising is usually a distraction.
The Freedom Watch ads are emotionally effective. Your mileage may vary ;)

Moveon is doing a good job of pulling the strings on their puppet political apparatus -- the Party of the Democrats. The Democrats are in so much fear of Moveon that they dare not question them or defy them. It is very dangerous when a legitimate political entity loses control and becomes a tool for a radical leftist organization. Unfortunately, that is precisely what has occurred.

Let me see if I have this straight. Moron.org is critical of Bush's math after they unendingly defended a guy who called tax increases "investments" and decreases in rates of spending increases "cuts"?

Hypocritical liberals.

why is that group giving moveon the attention it desperately desires. everytime you mention moveon.org you give out their website - all you remember from the first ad is moveon.org . That’s the worst type of ad.

Yeah thats the first thing that came to mind when I saw the ad. It probably would be far more effective (far less distructive) to just state that liberal democrats bought a full page ad in the NYTimes just to smear the general leading our troops in battle. Nobody could deny that Moooveon.org is entirely made up of liberals. Some might split hairs and state the fact that there are moooooveon members affiliated with the Communist party and not the democrat party but to me that is a distinction without a difference.

I love to see all the left wieiners spend their monies running against Bush and or the War. It is like they have no clue what is happening from today until Nov 2008. Let them piss their money sway.

I liked the first one. The second one wasn't clever. Unless you are not clever enough to see how they fail to blame Congress for what Congress failed to deliver. There was no "betrayal" on the part of the President.

I agree with JiangxiDad. Betrayal is a powerful word and they are determined to use it on someone.

Since when is American security "melodramatic"? I assume you're for an Iraq pullout ASAP, but if history teaches us anything, it's that cut-and-run is the worst possible scenario.

Sorry...I liked the ad. And the announcer (I've watched tons of Forensic Files) was just fine.

I also fail to see the "clever" aspect of the MoveOn follow-up. Maybe if the final screen had said "Pelosi Betrayed Our Trust" it might make sense. Otherwise, it seems nonsensical.
