The original Gathering of Eagles was organized to protect US war memorials that radicals at ANSWER and other leftist groups had threatened to desecrate. The third Gathering of Eagles is this weekend in Washington. Michelle interviews N.Z. Bear of The Victory Caucus about the Gathering, and how you can get involved.

Michelle at her best! I’m trying to find someone to cover for me this weekend (we have customers in town) so I can make it to the Vietnam Memorial and be with all the Ventilators.

Planning on being there. If I’m feeling really mean I’ll play my concertina at the hippies*.

*Note that this is generally prohibited by Geneva Conventions and all major Human Rights groups. Plus, I’m really bad at it, which is just like rubbing salt in a bleeding wound.

TABoLK on September 14, 2007 at 12:22 PM

One of these days, I would like to attend a GOE event. I’m glad I can at least be a small part of it by signing the petition.

“I scoff at Soros.”

Terrific.

BadgerHawk on September 14, 2007 at 12:28 PM

Sick em Michelle….

doriangrey on September 14, 2007 at 12:31 PM

Michelle, Bryan, it would be great if you two could do live updates on FNC! Interviewing both sides (well, mostly our side).

Unfortunately, I plan to attend the funeral of Patriot Guard Rider Greg Bowman in Princeton, IL, on Saturday, if I can get my ride act together.

Bowman’s funeral, a man whose selflessness guided him to protect the mourners of our fallen troop from likes of Phelps’ crowd of assh*les, is expected to be picketed by Phelps as well.

Bowman was an attorney and a colleague of my wife. He will be sorely missed by his associates and fellow Bar members. And to his wife and 6 children, blessed be his memory.

I am a Illinois PGR member myself. I never met Greg but his emails too me (us) definately showed his dedication to our mission.

I am currently working a job assignment near DC and I will be with our brothers tomorrow. I will carry both of you with me.

If I lived anywhere on the east coast, I’d so be there. Keep up the good work, Eagles.

wherestherum on September 14, 2007 at 1:48 PM

I wish I could be there. I would like to take pictures of it.

So much patriotism I would love to capture.

madmonkphotog on September 14, 2007 at 2:02 PM

YAY VENT! Too bad it’s homecoming or I’d prolly ride up there to see you guys. I’ll be there in spirit.

ThackerAgency on September 14, 2007 at 2:11 PM

Getting ready to leave for DC in about an hour. Can’t wait. Hope to see some HA and MM friends there. I’m sure MM and Brian will get video. I’ll take some pictures and try to post them online somewhere for all to see.

I’ve got a good feeling about this!

IrishEi on September 14, 2007 at 2:13 PM

BobK,

Do you by chance live in Hoffman Estates?

georgej on September 14, 2007 at 2:14 PM

georgej

I live in Palatine near Harper.

BobK on September 14, 2007 at 2:22 PM

Is your wife’s name Penny?

georgej on September 14, 2007 at 2:30 PM

georgej

No, her name is Carol. George, since I have been in the DC are working a “temporary” assignment since April of this year. I have not been on a PGR mission as yet. I joined shortly before I came here. I usually get home every 2nd or 3rd weekend.

BobK on September 14, 2007 at 2:36 PM

BobK,

For a brief moment I thought you might be an old, old friend (of 39 years) who I haven’t seen in ages.

georgej on September 14, 2007 at 2:42 PM

georgej

Who knows. Perhaps if you are from the same area my wife and I are from, we will bump into each other one day. New friendships. I don’t know if Bryan can/will do it but I asked him to forward my email address to you. Don’t know if he can. I don’t want to post it here.

BobK on September 14, 2007 at 2:48 PM

i am 2 hours away so im leaving at 6am give or take half an hour :)

trailortrash on September 14, 2007 at 3:12 PM

Go Eagles! Nothing the whiny anti-military, anti-everything crowd hates more than vets and their supporters showing up to out show them. Get ‘em boys and gals.

darwin on September 14, 2007 at 5:22 PM

You eastcoasties do a good job of representing we westcoasties who cannot possibly make it to DC on a weekend in September.

I can’t wait to see how it all goes.

(already signed the petition)

Bob's Kid on September 14, 2007 at 5:56 PM

I just left DC this morning. These leftists had posters pasted on all the lightposts. I wish I didn’t have to come back so soon.

jeffshow on September 14, 2007 at 6:18 PM

I’ll be attending my own little one-man counter protest against a bunch of whiney anti-Bush, anti-War leftists here in West Chester, PA.

They hold the meanest signs, “Arrest Bush”, “Bush Lied”, “Bush’s War”, “Send the Twins”, “Illegal War” – but I counter with signs of my own… like “WARNING: Leftists trying to demoralize our troops” or “Support the troops by letting them WIN” or “John Street = Democrat Leadership” and “Protestors should protest John Street’s Phila – Murder capital of USA”
Next weekend, I been told some Eagles will come and support me because my leftists show up every Saturday.

They dishonor our troops by dishonoring their General.

flagwaver on September 14, 2007 at 10:47 PM

Again great work Michelle.

I have signed petition and it is a very honest and valid petition. Unlike leftest petitions that let you sign in using dead persons or fictitious names, if you sign it once you can not sign it again; because I have visited other sites and found the Petition (even though it did not appear like the one I originally signed) it caught me and did not let me sign it again. Also, tried to use different names and was rejected because the name and place did not match etc.

Eldest son is stationed at Ft. Belvoir and will attend.

MSGTAS on September 15, 2007 at 10:22 AM

dose anyone know if there is something going on in the moonbat whacko world this weekend other then the dissent on Washington dc ?
I have seen a few retarded signs {the war is a lie} posted in clear view of 101 in both Marin and Sonoma County yesterday, needless to say the both ended up in the garbage where they belong. I’m just wondering if this is just a coincident or a concerted effort of the moonbats.

Mojack420 on September 15, 2007 at 12:09 PM

I was watching the Eagles just sort of stand there while the code pinkos came up on them and it got me to thinking. There needs to be an organized response, a unified show of contempt for these people. While it needs to be tasteful, it can leave no doubt about the feelings involved. And then it hit me. Every Eagle standing there should be equipped with basic gear for the events. One such item would be their half coconut shield (more on this later) and the other their tartan kilt. When the idiot hippies approach, a call to arms is made, everyone pulls on their kilts from over head (suspenders or something), brandishes their coconut and bangs it three times loudly in unison. Then they turn their backs and pull up their coconuts up around their privates. Then they pull up their kilts and show the hippies their rears. then they turn and pull up their kilts and show their coconuts. Braveheart these idiots and show your contempt. You know they will be video taping your actions. this would give them nothing. Uncoordinated outbursts make a group look weak.

pc on September 15, 2007 at 12:25 PM

and if they still come up on and mess with what you were doing, they are messing with your privacy if you get my drift and you’ll popping some heads in short order. They need to back the hell up. There’s a reason why the Scottish handled their business the way they did.

Showing your FACE, NZ? WOW! Coming out of your shell!

How was Bushie? I heard from Donovan that it was QUITE the humbling experience!

An FYI for Bryan

As another former Air Force Sarge 1966-1970 I have profound
respect for all military folks. General Robbin Olds was
but one of Heros of that era.

May God Bless him.

Read the news this morning (16th)…

Anticipated taking points covered:

1. A huge anti-war protest. With many arrests.

2. 100,000+ in attendance, but of course, this number can’t be confirmed.

3. Absolutely no mention of the patriotic counter protest by Gathering of Eagles, et al.

4. No mention that of the 100,000 guestimate, how many were anti-war and how many were patriotic counter protesters.

>>>

My thanks to all the patriotic folks are there in my stead.
