Exactly, why allow it to go on? So you can film it and then throw a hissy fit that it happened?

AprilOrit on September 14, 2007 at 2:51 AM

Both video clips on this thread end with 'Code Pink Studios' and/or their web site URL.
I don't think Heritage Foundation is responsible for the clips.

However, the people in Iraq didn’t attack us, the planes were manned predominantly by Saudis, so stop while you are ahead.

Links to AQ. WMD's. Keeping WMD's away from "people" more than willing to use them in a heavy populated area. BTW, WMD = NBC (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical) weapons. Whether Saddam had nukes can be debated but there is no doubt Saddam possessed and had used biological & chemical weapons. Check it out. I'd rather be proactive in keeping those kinds of weapons away from terrorists.

Before I hear any more about how mistakes were/are being made I would like to point out no one on this planet has walked on water in about 2000 years. Personally I think the military has done of a heck of a job. 4 plus years of country rebuilding with as few casualties is impressive. Never before in the history of warfare, especially considering the tech involved, has this few people lost their lives in such an endeavor.

Isolationism or a group hug won't protect us. That is MY TALKING POINT!

Okay my friends I’m still fuming since my post last night

Brat on September 13, 2007 at 6:56 PM

and even more after seeing this so I must rant.

My husband, who normally works out of our house and doesn’t get the everyday dose of road rage or exposure to the general public that I do keeps asking me all week, because he went out on some customer calls, “There’s a lot of angry people. Why are people so mad?” My only answer is “Because of what the Democrats are doing and saying.” He also wonders why I’m so mad and I have to tell him about incidents like at Heritage and around the country on 9/11. He thinks he doesn’t need to see them, but I tell him he really needs to see these people in action.

So as of hitting “Submit Comment” when I complete this comment, I will embark on an internet, TV and radio free weekend (except maybe a few NCAAF or NFL games, but no NBC because of that lunatic, no ESPN because of Cornhiser and their constant mention and interview with Ray Lewis on the sidelines last night during MD vs WV game). See how easily I’m angered these days?

I’ll relax by pulling weeds and the last of the tomato plants in our garden, plant the fall crops, observe the last of the hummingbirds fighting over our nectar feeders before they begin their long trek southward, and maybe we’ll take our 150 lb. pumpkin to the County Fair and enjoy some old-fashioned fun. I doubt it will happen but if I encounter a nutroot pinko at the Fair, I will not be silent like that Heritage audience. I will begin shouting USA!, or turn one of their anthems on them by singing a few bars of “We Shall Overcome!” or maybe in honor of Laura Ingraham, shout out the chorus of “Power to the People.”

One last note to my fellow commenters. It’s only going to get worse from the left. Our greatest power against them is our vote. Go vote your heart out in your primary. Fred! RUUUUDY!, MITT!, McCain or any others. I don’t care. Just vote. And no matter who the nominee is in November, go and vote for whomever has the R next to their name. Don't sit this one out. A Republican President will be the only thing to keep us safe and sane for the next 8 years!

Thanks for reading. See you on Monday.

If conservatives pulled off something similar there would be bloodshed. The actions of the Heritage crowd show the civilized nature of a mature group that is truly trying to find help for such troubled people as seen in the videos.

Just once, I want to see what happens if far-righties, all five of them, did this to the left. Just to see it splattered all over the newspapers and cable. And then say “No double standard, hmm?”

Couldn't happen. This was a quiet, deliberate academic analysis of the question. The left doesn't do intellectual, only emotional.

The Hertigage Foundation definitely was too gentle with these people. I don't understand why they didn't vet them better. I noticed the second "lady(?)" had some sort of badge around her neck. Can these idgits at least be charged with trespassing?

Like the one guy said...their tactics just don't do their argument any good.

"If they just scream loud enough, if they’re just disruptive enough, if they annoy just enough people, maybe the <strike>troops will come home</strike> the people will pick up 2x4's and smash her skull into pink-gray mush."

There, I corrected it for you.

Heritage Foundation was much too gentle with them, IMHO.

Wow. Unbelievable, not only that they invaded a private meeting and wouldn’t shut up, but that the panel stood by and let them get away with it.

They should have been booted as soon as they began.

Exactly, why allow it to go on? So you can film it and then throw a hissy fit that it happened? Who's accountable for not showing them the door or not accountable for showing them the door in the beginning of the charade?

As for the rest of your post, you probably ruined any point you tried to make at the first. The behavior of the Democrats have nothing to do with it? Did I not see the word hypicritical [sic] in your post?

So I misspelled a word? I'm confused.

Accountability? What are you wanting to account for? The made up numbers of civilian deaths? The death toll of our guys over there?

Your deduction is really insolent - this is exactly what I mean. Your high-hattedness is staggering.

And, I'll bet you really don't know "all about Arabs", but only know what your parents and relatives and maybe neighbors have told you. Quite the tinted filter there. How long did you study in Tel Aviv? Any? Arabic Studies here, perhaps? No?

When I heard the, "grieving father," make a statement about his, "first amendment rights," I started screaming at my monitor. The first amendment now allows people to go, uninvited, to a PRIVATE meeting and disrupt it? NOT!

I'd like to see how "tolerate" Codepinkos would be if a conservative group crashed their little party.

The second women said something about babies not being abled to be carried full term, since when does the left care if a baby is carried to term?

Their such Hypocrites!

AprilOrit on September 14, 2007 at 12:41 AM

repeatedly shield the people responsible for this mess in Iraq.

I've seen very little "shielding" happening here and on other blogs, and plenty of criticism "for the President and the Iraq group" (the Iraq group? You mean the Iraq Panel, or the military over there?). But all in all, I think instead of "fawning", most of us support the overall mission and reason(s) for being in Iraq and Afganistan.

Accountability? What are you wanting to account for? The made up numbers of civilian deaths? The death toll of our guys over there? I won't bore everyone here with another recitation of why we need to be there. And how war is a very bad, but sometimes necessary thing.

Mistakes are made in every war, and they often cost lives. Sometimes lots of them. Read some history on World War II. It's not the mistakes that count in the end, it's how you correct for the mistakes and carry on that matters.

As for the rest of your post, you probably ruined any point you tried to make at the first. The behavior of the Democrats have nothing to do with it? Did I not see the word hypicritical [sic] in your post?

Those two clips were rather difficult to watch, because the presence they projected was one of discord, confusion, condescension, dishonesty, and rudeness.

Exactly and it all could have been avoided if they were escorted out by security; very simple nip it in the bud from the get go. Why would anyone want that kind of negative drama anyway?

Such hysteria!

Such angst!

So much like a Hollywood movie!

Where is Glenn Close?

Where is Sean Penn?

Where is George Clooney?

Where is Carmen Diaz?

Where is Tim Robbins?

We need to get these left leaning, Bush hating people in a movie to dramatize that event!

No, they couldn't carry it off. They are not skilled enough actors to pull it off. It takes CRAZIES, who have not respect for others, but who think that their own opinions and passions trump the concerns of others, to pull off such a screaming display of mentally deranged propaganda spewing!

Yes, and if we just to love each other better, those darn Muslim terrorists will just go away!!

Again, Far Right talking points...I know all about them I am a NY jew, I was here for the WTC both times, my friend Michael's dad was killed the first time around, my family knew people who lost friends/loved ones the second time around. I know all about arabs, you do not have to tell me anything about them that I do not already know.

However, the people in Iraq didn't attack us, the planes were manned predominantly by Saudis, so stop while you are ahead.

I mean I am reading some of these comments and I thought I took a turn on too Daily Kos...bloody noses, tasers, and yes Medea Benjamin is a jew, sigh.

Her real name is Susan, and she does come from Long Island. Her father was an executive in the garment center.

Like David Horowitz I think she was also raised by idealogical Jewish Socialist/Communist parents. That behavior was common in some Jewish households, (although not mine or my relatives, we are very low-key and very middle of the road), they are either extreme Left leaning like Horowitz and Benjamin's families or extremely Right Wing and followers of Meir Kahane and the JDL - like Debbie Schlussel.

We're a passionate bunch, what can I tell you, Judaism is more than a religion, it's a traditional way of life. But what is really ridiculous is the fact that Medea Benjamin was able to get into the Heritage Society, that in itself is insane, where's the security? Talk about high drama, she should have been stopped at the door and politely escorted out and it all could have been avoided. It all seems so alcoholic, why were they allowed to continue their rant on private property?

You know I am going to be the voice of dissent here. I am no fan of Code Pink but I oppose the war, and I don't understand why people in the GOP repeatedly shield the people responsible for this mess in Iraq.

It's interesting how Laura Ingraham, who I admire, has written a book telling the population to hold our elected officials responsible, yet when it comes to the war the partisenship on The Right takes over and people fawn before the President and the Iraq group, those responsible for these Foriegn Policy decisions. It's really so hypicritical, it's really troubling to me.

People are so ready to respond with those typical Neo-Con talking points about how we are already there, the damage is done, what do we do to move forward, the typical rah rah spin about Saddam Hussain, but what about accountability?

The GOP has always stood for accountability, it's really shameful. And if you dare to question the mistakes of Iraq, you dare to even bring it up, you are verbally stoned, called a traitor, you have to endure personal smears and the name calling from posters who do not even really know you. Or the behavior of the Democrats is thrown in your face, which doesn't have anything to do with it. As Bill O'Reilly says, and he said it tonight in fact, explaining away bad behavior while pointing to other bad behavior is ridiculous.
