I’m afraid, like 911, that will have to happen here before our elected officials will stop giving speeches, Homeland Security gets serious, and people stop seeing conspiracy’s in the closet.

Stop stroking your egos Dems and Repubs.

Kini on September 12, 2007 at 10:22 PM

I sometimes wish I could get those images out of my head. Especially now that I have kids, it haunts me.

4shoes on September 12, 2007 at 10:24 PM

You can count on the men of Beslan having gone on hunting trips about a month after their children were attacked and killed.

Countryside Russians don’t necessarily consider court action as a first choice when it comes to justice.

Speakup on September 12, 2007 at 10:25 PM

Glenn is doing a week long series based on some intelligence reports that this is the next big attack. A coordinated terror attack on our schools. I heard Glenn tonight say that he had (someone had) video of a terror training camp training school sieges in English. “The Perfect Day” he’s calling it. It’s a scary scenario. Our schools are very soft targets.

Ordinary1 on September 12, 2007 at 10:28 PM

Monsters. No other word to describe them. Can’t watch the vid again. These monsters deserve no mercy. None. There is no God who would deny men sending these monsters to him for judgement.

Limerick on September 12, 2007 at 10:29 PM

Beyond words…

Zorro on September 12, 2007 at 10:39 PM

There is no God who would deny men sending these monsters to him for judgement.

Limerick on September 12, 2007 at 10:29 PM

I agree. The Bible does not support pacifism at all. And God ordains for government to implement and use the death penalty to rid society of moral evil.

Government forces have a right to destroy these monsters.

ColtsFan on September 12, 2007 at 10:41 PM

I did forget the date, But I’ll never forget the
day.

Texyank on September 12, 2007 at 10:42 PM

Thank you for posting this. Next time I hear someone go on about ‘understanding’ our enemy and tolerance and diversity, I want to show them this clip. And then, ask them to explain it to me. Horrifying.

austinnelly on September 12, 2007 at 10:45 PM

It’s horrible, and if you have kids of your own it becomes unbearable.

tlynch001 on September 12, 2007 at 10:47 PM

Thank you for the reminder, Michelle.

Slublog on September 12, 2007 at 10:50 PM

This. . .THIS. . . would be. . .

This makes me so pissed off, I’d better stop typing before I get banned!!!

Troy Rasmussen on September 12, 2007 at 10:51 PM

Hey Michelle,

I’m trying to wind down and get some sleep. Your not making it very easy with this story and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial story.

Troy Rasmussen on September 12, 2007 at 10:54 PM

And right along side them, enabling them, is the media. The Media which still refuses outright to call them ‘terrorists’. Instead they are called ‘hostage takers’ or ‘gangsters’ or the ever popular ‘militants’ - never terrorists and never-ever-ever ‘muslims’.

Neither did they mention the gang-raped children or bayoneted babies. They refuse to mention it in order to give cover to their allies the terrorists. This (I believe) was done deliberately and with full knowledge of the true events.

In my mind that makes them (the media) an Accessory to the crimes.

As for the terrorists - they were all muslim - islamists - members of Bush’es Religion of Peace.

Oh yes, I remember. I’ll probably always remember.

You saved my breath Ordinary, Thank you.

Glenn is the only national show, radio or TV that is running with this.

Pretty scary stuff. I’m sure glad that someone is doing it.

I think he would be more than happy to do a vent interview, as he’s very dedicated to get the word out.

At least fair representation spots of his radio show at minimum.

He’s had caller’s all week describing incidents of Arab looking people casing schools across the country…..a large number of school buses missing in Houston, Texas….Callers with descriptions that he had to cut short due to security concerns….and the list goes on….

His radio show is only heard on approx. 200 stations so his influence is not as wide spread as it should be.

Mcguyver on September 12, 2007 at 11:05 PM

Can’t forget. I was working in an western school in a muslim country when that attack occurred. there was a terrorist attack in the nation I was in the same week. the Beslan attack got far more press, as it was leaps and bounds more horrific.

We were all sobered to find that schools had suddenly been shown, in the most vivid and diabolical of ways, to be top tier “targets.”

The details of that atrocity must never be forgotten, lest our vigilance and resolve be eroded.

TexasDan on September 12, 2007 at 11:08 PM

As I watch this, I cannot understand how some people can believe that evil people don’t exist. There are those in this country who will justify this by explaining that terrorists are merely good people who are backed into a corner and resort to desperate measures. I hear it at my church, too, that these people act this way because of American policies and that we should offer them love. I have had enough of that crap. Who decided that evil no longer exist??????????

bloggless on September 12, 2007 at 11:20 PM

You don’t show up very often Michelle, but when you do it’s with impact. This day is coming. It will represent the turning point for the rest of our lives. It will be interesting politically watching the Dems dive into the ditch. Devastating socially. And horrifying emotionally. It may mean the end for Saudi Arabia. It will mean the end for Iran.

Griz on September 12, 2007 at 11:23 PM

Practice run.

frreal on September 12, 2007 at 11:26 PM

Those bastards try this again with some of our schools, and that’s it. VERY PUSH THE BUTTON!

D2Boston on September 12, 2007 at 11:34 PM

I hear it at my church, too, that these people act this way because of American policies and that we should offer them love. I have had enough of that crap.

I’d find a new church. But that’s me.

jaime on September 12, 2007 at 11:44 PM

I’m Catholic. It’s not my religion per se, it’s more the liberal leaders. I love my faith.

bloggless on September 12, 2007 at 11:45 PM

Another parish too far away? Or do you think you’ll get the same crap there?

jaime on September 12, 2007 at 11:49 PM

There’s a strong example of the 2nd Amendment in all this. And, following, how it’s been eroded here.

In the climax of this affair there were numerous locals who came out with (shudder) their own guns to engage these murderers. As far as I know they weren’t well regulated but in the spur of the moment they were, indeed, a militia.

Other examples exist in our own country’s history of armed citizens repelling those that would do them harm. For example, the citizens of Northfield, MN, in 1876, rose up and repelled the James Gang when they tried to rob the First National Bank.

During the Charles Whitman sniper shootings at the University of Texas, several citizens were involved by taking pot shots at Whitman while he was in the tower. They were (shudder) using rifles they’d taken right out of their vehicles (pick ups). In fact, there was a citizen in the tower (Allen Crum) who was deputized on the spot to help out.

What are we going to do if (or when) a gang or suicidal Muslims takes over an elementary school and demand the release of Zacharias Moussaoui? Just watch everything unfold on CNN while the SWAT team takes over? Or, if your kid’s in the school, are you going to show up with grandpa’s double barrel 12 gauge to help out (and probably get turned away, at the least, or arrested for interfering)? What do you think will happen if you show up with more than grandpa’s 12 gauge and demand to do an immediate storming of the school?

And what are you going to do if beheadings start and they throw some kids head out through the window like it’s a soccer ball? You think today’s SWAT team is going to ask for your help and deputize you on the spot?

I’m just bringing this up for people to think about what the Second Amendment means and how it’s been eroded.

BowHuntingTexas on September 13, 2007 at 12:05 AM

I don’t know if anyone saw this at the time of the 2004 U.S. Open, but 2 Russian women tennis players were in the finals. The opening ceremony featured the players wearing FDNY and NYPD baseball caps, and the post-match speech by the players was quite moving…particularly on the part of Elena Dementieva, who had just lost the match, had to speak first, and in her third language:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHIUrE7NwEg

speech is about 3 minutes in…

How many other world-class athletes would be as poignant?

C-Hayes on September 13, 2007 at 12:12 AM

Beslan is Islam in its purist form. Chechens are a little heavier on the criminal side of things than most jihadists (perhaps they always intend to hand Allahs 20% of the booty over to the appropriate representatives but are content to spend it on logistics for jihad instead.)

Chechens lost a seat at the table of humanity for this act and deserve their harvest of destruction. Mainstream ‘Slums admire and seethe on their behalf regularly.

http://www.killology.com/schoolattack.htm
talks about preparing for an assault on a school. Very thought provoking…

ricer1 on September 13, 2007 at 12:37 AM

I think there were about 350 people killed there. Mostly children.

In this video, there is no narrative and everyone is speaking Russian, but you get all you need to see from the last half of the video. It’s about 8 minutes.

I’m just bringing this up for people to think about what the Second Amendment means and how it’s been eroded.
BowHuntingTexas on September 13, 2007 at 12:05 AM

The Second Amendment was necessary because the Constitutional Framers had a Biblical view of human nature in that, unlike the American Left, they viewed human nature as being “morally depraved” or “sinful”, hence the need for accountability in terms of armed citizen firepower. As one framer put it, “if men were angels, then no government would be necessary.”

The 2nd Amendment is needed for the same reason why free markets and capitalism is required: and that is for Liberty, Freedom, and Virtue to flourish in society.

Without private investment and free markets to hold bureaucrats accountable, then we are left as tax-paying citizens with the same totalitarian government which the framers wanted to flee from.

For more information on the above, check out this excellent website.

OMG…I had not seen this footage. This incident alone should have driven Putin to team up with the U.S. and fight the jihadis. Instead, he’s busy showing off military strength to the U.S. as if we’re some sort of threat.

jediwebdude on September 13, 2007 at 1:12 AM

Did anyone else watch the related slideshow entitled Beslan school siege?

Horrible.

Speakup on September 13, 2007 at 1:35 AM

Seeing this again breaks my heart and makes me burn, deep down inside.
I have older children who are in high school now.
We watched this video together and discussed a plan, should any of the schools in our area come under attack. If I hear one inkling of this type of activity in any schools, I will call their schools immediately and have them brought out of class, to wait in a predetermined area that we have chosen. I will pick them up and bring them home.
It is believed that they will target the younger children, as they are less likely to fight back and are easier to frighten. My children need to know that these are possibilities and we need to be prepared.
This does not mean that we walk around in fear, we are just going to be prepared.
May God roast them if they try this here!

MITX on September 13, 2007 at 2:49 AM

We and the Russians have to stop bickering and start concentrating on the common enemy. We have 9/11; they have Breslan. I think Russians like Putin the same way we did Reagan, but Putin is pointing at the wrong evil empire. It’s Islam, comrade dummy, not America.

dhimwit on September 13, 2007 at 8:28 AM

A Vent with Glenn Beck would be awesome! He is so passionate about this. And I would have something concise to send to my liberal family members who believe EVERYTHING is President Bush’s fault.

ctmom on September 13, 2007 at 8:28 AM

If those country Russkies go hunting for the subhumans that did this, I wish those men the best of luck.

The Bible DEMANDS people (?) like them pay for their crimes.

And as someone else once said, “He who does not condemn evil commands it to be done!”

Dark-Star on September 13, 2007 at 9:24 AM

I saw the Glenn Beck episode too last night. It’s something that most of has have forgotten unless it’s brought into the forefront again.

Catie96706 on September 13, 2007 at 9:42 AM

My point previously regarding the Second Amendment, which I probably didn’t make very well, is there was a time when Americans weren’t “allowed” to help out in a crisis, they were expected to. And the government authorities welcomed it.

Today, we sit back and let the SWAT team take care of it and watch it all play out on CNN. And if we have the gall to show up with a weapon we would more than likely be arrested on the spot.

The people at Beslan showed up with their own weapons and joined in to help out with no repercussions from the local authorities. What would happen here in America, land of the free, if locals showed up with their own weapons in a crisis?

And as an example of the erosion of our 2nd Amendment rights look at what happened in New Orleans after Katrina when the police dis-armed the locals.

Once again, worst case scenerio, suicidal Muslims have taken over an elementary school here in the US somewhere. Your kids are in there and beheadings have started. Are you going to watch it all play out on CNN? Are you going to show up with a weapon and demand an immediate storming of the school? What’s going to be the SWAT team response to your presumptuousness?

BowHuntingTexas on September 13, 2007 at 10:29 AM

I have two girls aged 8 and 12. I live in the Houston area.
I can’t bear to watch this but I do and it makes me so angry (and I think that’s too mild a word). These creatures aren’t human. They should be treated the same way one would treat a rabid dog.

Pulchritudinous Patriot on September 13, 2007 at 10:29 AM

Just that screencap on the front page makes me choke up. It’s so reminiscent of this photo from the Oklahoma City bombing. It shows what good, ordinary people around the world have in common when they face evil.

angryoldfatman on September 13, 2007 at 11:25 AM

Statues of those pictures should be what our memorials look like, not some formless metal and stone glop.

You communicate well. I agreed with you earlier and here as well.

Good point.

ColtsFan on September 13, 2007 at 11:41 AM

If you look at the voting demographics of the 2004 Presidential election, you will see that American women of child bearing age abandoned the Democratic party (dumping the John-John ticket) and voted for George W. Bush in droves. Ever since the ‘04 election, I have harbored a strong suspicion that THIS event in Beslan was the principal reason that those women switched parties and voted Republican. The event took place only a few weeks before the ‘04 election.

I have a brief roundup of the important parts of what we need to know about Glenn Beck’s series “The Perfect Day.” It is chilling.

Rightwingsparkle on September 13, 2007 at 6:03 PM

Special. Place. In. Hell. For those fiends.

May it never happen here. May it never take that to wake more of us up. But I’m so afraid that may only be wishful thinking.

Sixth anniversary and now this. Not a good week for my blood pressure or my mood, but I never resent the reminders. Thank you, Michelle.
