From Thursday’s show. The shill in question is Democratic legislator Steve Gallardo, who’s convinced himself that a law cracking down on employers for hiring illegal aliens is actually a law cracking down on employers for hiring American citizens who happen to look like, ahem, “brown-skinned illegal immigrants.” As you’ll see, Dobbs has had fully enough of that rhetorical sleight of hand. Haven’t we all.

Try again, in English. That gobbledegook was meaningless.
A law that penalizes businesses severely for employing illegal aliens doesn’t in any way relieve the business from “requiring that all current employees be checked in the same way”. What are you talking about?
Either the employees are illegal or they are not. If you’re worried that a landscaping company in Fountain Hills will be getting away with hiring lots of illegal alien blond, blue eyed polish guys because they “don’t have to check them” then you’re an idiot. Who said they don’t have to check them?
This is just a bunch of liberal hand-wringing. If you employ people, then you need a system of verifying citizenship to a great degree of certainty. For all employees.
What’s the mystery and why does this somehow discriminate against “brown” people?

I take it that the crux of the matter is that under this law (as in all things), employers will focus their efforts in areas that will most likely pay the highest dividends. If it’s more likely that your blond, English-speaking employees are citizens than your ‘brown-skinned’ no-habla employees are, they’re probably not going to put as much effort into checking Sven’s background as they are Juan’s background.
But really, it’s simple…if Juan isn’t illegal, he has nothing to fear from his employer verifying his citizenship. If he feels unduly put upon because of this, then to fix ‘injustice’ and claims of ‘discrimination,’ a lawsuit will have to make his employer check the backgrounds of Sven and all the other employees, not get the law overturned. After all, the law says nothing about a person’s race, so it itself cannot be racist or discriminatory. Selective enforcement of it, however, can be. That’s no reason to not have a law that we need, though.
