Comedy gold: Truthers descend on Geraldo; Update: Alex Jones goofs on Geraldo

posted at 9:53 pm on September 8, 2007 by Allahpundit

With any other host and any other show, it would have been boorish and unpleasant. But as a backdrop for tabloid inanity on Kyla Ebbert, Larry Craig, and the temperature at which cookies soften as evidence of how heat stroke affects babies, it’s almost poetic. Two completely different forms of shinola collide, my friends — and the result is television immortality.

The clip picks up right after the 8:30 news update, with Geraldo presiding over a sleepy Sixth Avenue crowd while he introduces a story about the mom who tried to outrun a train in her minivan and, er, didn’t. 30 seconds later, almost by magic, the Truthers appear and make their presence known; highlights from the last 30 minutes of the show follow. For the record, I didn’t start laughing until the guy held up the sign about neocon madmen behind Geraldo’s head during the intro to the illegal immigration segment.

And before you ask: no, he didn’t threaten to spit on them. Exit question: What are they chanting while Victoria Zdrok is speaking? Is it … “whore”?

Update: Truther royalty!

Update: With thanks to Randy for the tip, here’s Ron Paul’s chat buddy on his arrest and the mustache:

They certainly did stink up the place.

Truthers, Geralod, and Kyla Ebbert.

This is like three different posts for the price of one, eh Allah?

You’d think a government that could orchestrate an attack on its own citizen would have the power to shut up annoying idiots.

frankj on September 8, 2007 at 10:20 PM

Wow, speed frame from a kid left in a car, to chocolate chip cookies, to some weird sex thing, to Gerrrrrraldo wanting the Hooters babe to shake his marrrrrraca.

I have a headache.

Hening on September 8, 2007 at 10:20 PM

That was fun. I have a love/hate thing with conspiracy nuts. They provide so much fun with their ranting craziness, but then the fact that they’re so damn stupid, obnoxious, and or wretched can infuriate you.

Bad Candy on September 8, 2007 at 10:22 PM

The shame of homosexuality in this country today is that Larry Craig had to go to a public place.

Do you follow that?

jihadwatcher on September 8, 2007 at 10:22 PM

Almost all truthers are college kids. This was just another college kid outing. Then they will go pub hopping.

jihadwatcher on September 8, 2007 at 10:23 PM

haha yeah, I was watching this earlier. At least Geraldo was like “Yeah, get a life” to the troofers.

What’s he doing this stuff outside for anyway? Doesn’t he have a nice, air-conditioned studio?

And that reference to the “shame of homosexuality” and alluding to it being the Republicans fault is most ridiculous of all.

JetBoy on September 8, 2007 at 10:29 PM

I was going to comment that it’s obvious they wanted to get Jones arrested so they could play victim and say “WE’RE BEING SILENCED BY THE NEO-CON SECRET POLICE!!!”… but before I could even do that, I followed Jawa’s link to some nut job site, where the victim game is already going down:

http://www.roguegovernment.com/news.php?id=3860

UPDATE: Jones is now being held at the Midtown South precinct on 357 West 35th Street. Infowars is reporting that Jones was singled out in a group of 400 protesters, verbally accosted by police and forced to present identification which he didn’t have at the time of the arrest. The phone number to the station is (212)-239-9811. Please call and demand his release immediately.

Anyway… wanna help play the game with these idiots? You know how the left, Ron Paul supporters, and Truthers operate by swarming Digg, right? I doubt we’ll be able to counter them, but if you have a Digg account, head over and BURY the story from InfoWars (Jones’ site):

MirCat on September 8, 2007 at 10:39 PM

FYI the arrests were apparently for protesting without a permit, but I forgot to point one thing out in the quote (from a Truther) I cited above:

Jones was singled out in a group of 400 protesters, verbally accosted by police and forced to present identification

Am I the only one who wouldn’t blink if the cops beat him to… well, I’ll just say beat him… after the pain he and his ilk have caused? Remember, their “movement” is growing, and it’s disgusting. If Geraldo wants to spit on Michelle, he should have R. Kellyed those shameful SOBs. I can’t help but want bad things to happen to all of them. I hate to sound like a Kos commenter, but I can’t not be furious with these people… but if I were a cop (or firefighter) in NYC, I think I’d really have trouble keeping it together if I came face to face with one of these people.

haha I noticed that…Damn, she’s really milking every last second of that 15 minutes of fame too…

JetBoy on September 8, 2007 at 10:57 PM

hahaha.

the sad part about it was the only thing newsworthy in the whole show was the protesters.

I never watch Geraldo, but this show was merely hot women talking about worthless OLD news stories. It wasn’t remotely informative, and the only thing entertaining about it (other than G getting heckled) was that there were hot women on the show.

If I was G, and this was what my career had sunk to I would retire and pick up chicks in the Carribean. It is obvious that he only works there now to meet hot women. Geraldo has ZERO dignity and even less credibility as a ‘serious’ ANYTHING.

I spend a good amount of time on debunker boards and sites, and that’s one of the funniest developments in the ongoing insanity we’ve come across.

Yes – there are Twoofers that actually believe that Ales Jones is a CIA/COINTELPRO plant trying to discredit the Twoofers.

Oh, f**kin’ A…. He’s been released, and acting dumber than ever. Video of Jones being released, with his worshippers surrounding him:
http://www.justin.tv/wearechange/34839/ALEX_JONES_RELEASED

Highlight: He accuses Geraldo, and all the scantily clad broads on stage of spewing lies and propaganda…. About what Alex you f-ing moron? Making cookies in a hot car? Whether that chick was dressed like a skank or not? WTF!? And his followers eat it up…. Is it Jones’ contention that Geraldo is up there serving the “neo-con agenda”? Lol, what an ass (and I ain’t just talkin’ about Laurie Dhue. OH SNAP!)

RightWinged on September 8, 2007 at 11:18 PM

ROFLMAO! An attention idiot that wears a skirt which keeps getting longer. Geraldo, the mustached idiot who thinks an intelligent response in a debate is showering an opponent in bodily fluids. This is all topped off with 9/11 conspiracy idiots. As you say Allah, this is pure comedy gold.

Think it’s a coincidence that he just resigned? Of course not, he’s got to get back to work hiding the conspiracy… Alex Jones is getting to close to cracking this thing wiiiiiiide open. And as Maddox once said, the fact that Dylan Avery (and Alex Jones) is still alive is proof enough that they’re fulla shi’ite. I mean really, if the gubmint were evil enough to kill 3000 of its own citizens, why would they hold back on these troofer clowns, since they “have the evidence?”

I just watched the 12:00 PM version. It was amazing! I kept checking to see if individual signs were slowly going to show up in the first half hour or so. It was just a big swarm and chanting during the children segment.

There were other parts that make the entire half hour even better. One of the attractive women went into a men’s room and they had an entire re-enactment of Craig soliciting sex done very tabloid style, grainy film of his hand wiping the bottom of the stall, close-ups of his shoe tapping. The segment ends and we’re back to Geraldo with the ‘Stop the NEOCON MADMEN’ poster and the chanting. It was beautiful!!

Canadian Infidel on September 9, 2007 at 1:14 AM

When Alex Jones gets home tonight and puts his head on his pillow, I hope his own personal savior knocks him upside the head painfully and he suddenly realises how blessed he truly is.

He’s released a few hours after being arrested in a country he claims killed 3000 civilians and his biggest complaint is wrist chafing because the cop was rough! It’s too bad he can’t trade places with someone else being arrested in some of the other countries on this globe. He could then compare his treatment if we ever heard from him again. Idiot.

Canadian Infidel on September 9, 2007 at 1:21 AM

lol, the 16 of the nuts buried my comment… the only other guy being buried that fast is someone Truther 2.0 accusing Jones of being part of the conspiracy

http://digg.com/politics/Alex_Jones_Arrested_by_NYPD

… Yet it’s the Truthers who are being silenced, right? My comment amounted to basically mocking them and telling anyone who buys the Truther crap that it’s their duty to seek debunking information before they go 100% Truther. Truthers don’t like that, because it requires that people look at the real information (not the lies they traffic in) and decide for themselves.

Fun Truther comments at Digg (along the lines of what I predicted earlier):

(BTW, 9/11 “Truthers” are the biggest douche bags in the planet… I’d like to recommend that anyone who gives them a second thought, also spend some time seeking the abundance of conspiracy theory debunking information. These people, the “Truthers”, are anything but.. they’re f-ing liars, period. Now, watch them bury this comment… because they only want you to read their lies, not the debunking information that is readily available, thought harder to come by. Hey coward, what are you doing to honor the heroes on 9/11? Thousands of rescue workers from the World Trade Center site are still coughing up dust that your leaders told them was okay to breath. Alex Jones and wearechange.org were sponsoring a charity for the rescue workers while you sit on your fat ass laughing and snickering as if you’ve won some victory.

http://www.philly.com/dailynews/columnists/stu_bykofsky/20070809_Stu_Bykofsky___To_save_America__we_need_another_9_11.html

Answer this question truthfully: How do you neocons plan to commemorate the 6th anniversary of 9/11? You call for more terror, like your buddy Stu Bykofsky, because you miss the brief moment after 9/11 when you controlled the majority of the nation and exploited their fear for your own political agenda. Your boss Michelle Malkin wants to profile Arabs and put them in camps. You are the scum of the earth. Whether you’re ignorant or whether you’ve given yourself over to evil, by celebrating the arrest of someone who politically disagrees with you, you’re cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Besides all the overwhelming evidence and the fact OBL and many others have admited numerous time they were responsible for 9-11 these mental giants still believe 9-11 to be this grand conspiracy and Alex Jones is laughing all the way to the bank muttering “there’s a twoofer born every minute!”

Also, the twoofers say the police zeroed in on Alex Jones out of a crowd of 400…hmmmmm…the “crowd” looked more like 30-40 at the very most! Ah hell, what was I expecting, a twoofer being able to count past 40? Besides, in twoofer land 40 or 400 it’s all the same and relative as is evident by their track record of presenting “facts” about 9-11!

These twoofers are obviously all the loser college morons with no life and no dates other than their blow up dolls! What they forgot to say to Geraldolt is that thousands of Truthers died in WTC Building 7.

The government knew they would speak up, so they were herded in there 6 years ago, this Monday, and the charges were detonated the next morning.

Why is there no memorial to all of the dead Truthers?

I suggest a Big Mouth with a Gag.

profitsbeard on September 9, 2007 at 3:23 AM

Quick note about how these idiots arrived at Geraldo’s show… At first I figured (I think correctly) that they’re in town to cause a stir and narrowly avoid getting beaten to death on the anniversary of 9/11, as they get in the faces of victims’ families and firefighters, etc. They’ve done it before, and they’re clearly in town to do it again.

But I figured “they couldn’t have possibly known Geraldo would be outside tonight”… I, for a moment, thought that maybe someone at Fox tipped off some Truther friends… but thought it was more likely that some Truther walked by, noticed, and then called his palls (again, who are all in town, ready for protests this week anyway)…

But now I’m under a different impression… the reairring just started, and they showed Geraldo on that monster screen in Times Square (I think Fox is, currently, always on that screen)… I suspect that’s where they first got the idea, because none of them were there at the beginning of the show… there was just a quite small crowd of a couple dozen people.

Obviously none of that matters, but I’m kind of interested in how they got there. And I guess it could matter, legally, as it pertains to Alex Jones. If the arrest was for protesting without a permit… it’s probably because (if they even had a permit for another location) they weren’t planning on going to Fox until they saw that Geraldo was live and outside… they took there chances because it was the opportunity of a lifetime for them, and hightailed it over to FNC headquarters.

RightWinged on September 9, 2007 at 4:09 AM

Yeah, “Dr.” Victoria Zdrok, the only way for a man to be gay in America today is to hide it.

I mean, there are no openly gay Americans.

You idiot.

Christoph on September 9, 2007 at 4:44 AM

And that reference to the “shame of homosexuality” and alluding to it being the Republicans fault is most ridiculous of all.

Yeah, that was really disappointing, especially coming from my beloved Laurie Dhue. I guess we can probably surmise her leanings now — another lib journalistette. That’s really unfortunate.

Kensington on September 9, 2007 at 5:00 AM

Where to start? 1) There was absolutely no reason for the show to have been on location in the first place. It exemplifies so much of what is wrong with TV news, most often seen on the local newscasts, when they send a satellite truck out to report on the late local news from a location like, say, outside a courthouse hours after a trial they’ve been covering has ended for the day.

2) Anyone notice by the end when Geraldo and all of his guests/talking heads (and legs) were in the shot that it must have been matching white skirt and half-sweater uniform day on the Mickey Mouse club? They looked like some pastel-flavored Robert Palmer backup band-meets-Miami Vice mash-up.

3) I’m already sick of the Hooters chick. I’d rather watch Miss Teen South Carolina try to spell “the” than see this sorry excuse for a news subject.

4) 9/11 Truthers deserve a terrible comeuppance. (And that’s the mildest thing I can think of to say about them.)

Thank you. I feel better now after some HOT ThAIRapy…

Yeah, that was really disappointing, especially coming from my beloved Laurie Dhue. I guess we can probably surmise her leanings now — another lib journalistette. That’s really unfortunate.

Kensington on September 9, 2007 at 5:00 AM

It was a real blow (pun intended) to hear Laurie say this.
My hopes of her becoming a blond MM has been dashed.
She now wears a moustache in my eyes.
What a waste!

Didn’t the goons hear OBL take credit for 9-11 just yesterday? When will they give it up?

gatewaypundit on September 8, 2007 at 11:38 PM

Oh, didn’t you know? Bushco is paying OBL to make these tapes at convenient times to keep the sheeple cowering in fear of another terrorist attack and compliant with Chimpy McBushitler’s lunatic war. OBL is only taking credit for 9/11 because Bush told him to. Bush is afraid of the Truthers’ power, you see, and he had to do something to convince the sheeple that it wasn’t really him who orchestrated the attacks. Bingo! Dust off bin Laden! (For the Dumbest President Ever, Bush sure is an evil genius, don’t you think?)

Apparently you didn’t get the memo from the Neocon Madmen. Have you kept your Republican voter registration up to date? They can’t send you your marching orders if you don’t.

WHOOAA!!!! When did Victoria Zdrok become “Dr.” Zdrok?? So she’s both a Playmate and a psychologist. I’m sure a conversation took place between Zdrok and Hooters waitress about career advancement.

jediwebdude on September 9, 2007 at 10:38 AM

Holy cow this Zdrok woman is smart, accoding to Wikipedia. She got a B.A. at the age of 18 and earned her law and psych grad degrees shortly thereafter. Wonder if she psycho-analyzed the sign-holding crazies behind her.

Except Hooters chick is hideous, and possibly a man.

RightWinged on September 9, 2007 at 1:53 PM

Reducing the child dying in the car to a demonstration on baking cookies, (sort of), is just what we would expect from Horaldo and his blonde bimbo and ‘fellow’ ho-bag, slut-sack.

My bucket flow-eth over. The only thing that was funny was the Truffers distracting poor Jerry Rivers.

she does have Cher face (aka man face)

jediwebdude on September 9, 2007 at 3:09 PM

In the event any Truthers stop by here in the next few minutes (it’s 6:00PM ET right now), turn on the history channel and when it’s done, jump off a cliff after realizing what an ass you’ve been.

RightWinged on September 9, 2007 at 6:04 PM

Prison Planet has revealed some scary-true stuff…but they’ve attracted a horde of utter loons in the process.

I’m going to have a long talk with myself. . . I actually
watched over half of that video. How I manage to
waste time doing it deserves nothing short of a poke in
the ribs by anyone. . . Dang I’m dumb.

Pfffffffff

Texyank on September 9, 2007 at 9:09 PM

I like when Jerry says “I’d like to go out there…” like he’s gonna go kick some truther ass. He’s pretty scary, huh?. That’d be funny, a wanna be tough guy and a bunch of chinbearded rich kids who act poor while living off their Daddys fighting like the girly men they are.

LtE126 on September 10, 2007 at 7:46 AM

Well, Geraldo…It looks like you stepped on a fire ant hill. I think you lived too, too long in the northeast. One would think that a world traveler, such as yourself, would recognize a fire ant hill. Or, any any hill. Opst, that’s it; that northeastern education ( nothing exist beyond the 5 boughs )

oldelpasoan on September 10, 2007 at 11:50 AM

Actually the saddest thing in the Geraldo program was the 60ish “former district attorney” from Westchester County trying desperately to dress and act like the nubile Fox news babes and the Hooters girl from the Southwest Airlines flight. Geraldo had all the lovely ladies dressed like the Hooters girl on the SW flight and the 60ish former DA just couldn’t see fit to dress or act her age. But then again, I turned Geraldo’s program on Sunday night and he was interviewing the drop dead gorgeous fashion model Daisy Fuentes. And what did Geraldo want to talk about? Yup, you guesses it. It was all about Geraldo’s taste in choosing the women that he dates. As usual, it was all about Geraldo and nothing else.

Larraby on September 10, 2007 at 1:41 PM

I can’t believe anyone here watches Geraldo.

Connie on September 10, 2007 at 8:14 PM

Still here today..!!..huh..Good, then there’s still time for that straightjacket and (Hannibal) face mask. Stick around anymore and we’ll throw in some electric shock treatment,,on the house..
