Transcript: Osama Bin Laden, socialist icon; Update: Partial Osama video added; Update: Osama hiding in Chitral, Pakistan?

posted at 4:04 pm on September 7, 2007 by Allahpundit

Too sweet to bury at the end of the earlier post. This is from pages 3 and 4 of NBC’s transcript. Enjoy — but not too much — and stand by for updates.

osama3.png

Update: The full video allegedly runs 25 minutes but here’s what’s floating around right now.

Update: Read the full transcript and you’ll see that Bin Laden refers at one point to media coverage of a U.S. soldier named “Joshua” complaining about his tour of duty. Newsbusters thinks that came from an ABC report.

Update: Verrrry interesting.

As Osama bin Laden urges Americans to convert to Islam in a new video released Friday, the al Qaeda leader’s location remains a mystery.

But informed sources tell CBS News U.S. intelligence believes Osama bin Laden is hiding out in the Chitral district of northern Pakistan. A number of reports from human sources, including some alleged sightings, have put him there, reports CBS News national security correspondent David Martin.

None of the reports has been independently confirmed, but there are enough of them to persuade intelligence analysts that it’s his most likely location.

Chitral is a remote, rugged area governed by tribes that will not allow even the Pakistani army to operate there.

“They have a code of hospitality for guests, and they’ve probably also gotten a fair amount of money from bin Laden,” says Daniel Benjamin of the Brookings Institute, who tracked bin Laden during the Clinton administration…

Last year, a U.S. missile strike narrowly missed Zawahiri after the CIA tracked him to a meeting of senior al Qaeda operatives south of Chitral. Al Qaeda seems willing to risk Zawahiri in order to protect bin Laden.

OBL mentions global warming? Good grief, he’s not only campaigning for the Left, he’s pandering!

By the way, has anyone seen Noam lately? Someone ought to ask him what it was like polishing OBL’s knob. He must’ve done a heck of a job.

Low taxes, Global Warming and a guy named Joshua.

Cover all those Dem talking point, Osama.

I think he actually spelled out the Democratic platform in a more clear, concise and comprehensive way then any of the Democratic presidential candidates. He even added the novel Sharia based idea that when the Democrats are in power, democrat party members should no longer have to pay tax.

I guess he forgot about the jizya tax.

Read the whole transcript, it’s in there. Among some of the more ridiculous claims are that the Jews could have all survived WWII if they had sought refuge in Muslims lands. His history of Kennedy is a bit off too.

Rumsfeld and his aides murdered two million villagers, and when Kennedy took over the Presidency and deviated from the general line of policy drawn up for the White House…

I think Osama is going for the big one, the greatest prize of all….yes, he is going to declare as a candidate for the 2008 Democrat presidency. lower taxes, no sub-prime mortgages, a goat in every pot!

The video also is edited so at one point the video jerks a bit, as if clips were spliced and put together.

Yep – made this observation earlier in the thread and it’s at 1:39 in the video. Here is how it should have been transcribed in that section.

…despite all of this, 19 young men were able – by the grace of Allah, the most high – (edit break) to change the direction if its compass.

While we’re analyzing Bin Laden tapes, here’s a little deja vu for you.

Larry King interviews Walter Cronkite.

CRONKITE: What we just heard. So now the question is basically right now, how will this affect the election? And I have a feeling that it could tilt the election a bit. In fact, I’m a little inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing. The advantage to the Republican side is to get rid of, as a principal subject of the campaigns right now, get rid of the whole problem of the al Qaqaa explosive dump. Right now, that, the last couple of days, has, I think, upset the Republican campaign.

Flip through this website has some very funny analysis of different Bin Laden videos, all of which aim to prove that the one where he took credit for 9/11 was faked.

Enjoy.

OBL quoting Noam Chomsky and blathering about global warming!? You’ve got to be kidding me. Seriously, who is the author of this brilliant satire. I am laughing my ass off right now. Really, who did this? Is it Saturday Night Live? The Daily Show? The Onion. This is good stuff.

I hear a whole bunch of democrats saying, “Oh crap…”

Rational Thought on September 7, 2007 at 6:41 PM

“Lend me your ears…” – OBL

Or, I’ll take your heads.

Wow, I just listened to the partial video. The man has got Lib-Speak down pat. Notice he’s toned down the religious rhetoric and is now emphasizing secular issues.

Congratulations Noam, you must be proud of your new student’s progress. My question to you is, tug-jobs notwithstanding, who’s the protege of whom now?

It’s clear as daylight to me. OBL understands he cannot win this war alone, he needs the continued help of America’s and the World’s finest Leftist “thinkers”. This really is a cry for help from OBL.

Amazing…

Rational Thought on September 7, 2007 at 6:41 PM

I’m with you. It’s very difficult to believe this is real. But then if you review the progression of AQ messages to the West, you begin to notice increasing references to left-wing causes regarding the war.

Throwing in “global warming”, “global corporations” and “taxes” could be a sign of desperation at this point. He may be saying that we’ve killed off so many of his fighters that he’s having a bit of a challenge recruiting.

Could it be our enemy is tiring of the fight first? If true, that’s good news however we need to be more vigilant than ever because a cornered wild animal can create a lot of havoc.

Okay, this is how to see the video analysis that purports to show the fake versus real Bin Laden. The fake Bin Laden in the 2004 video looks a lot like the Bin Laden we met today.

This could be great fodder for a campaign ad next year. I’m sure numerous democratic candidates, including those running for president, have uttered words that are almost (if not) word-for-word the same. One can easily envision ads juxtaposing OBL and a democratic candidate uttering the same or similar words. Not much more would need to be said after that.

Hold on now, he supports a flat tax, weak federal government, strong on crime…he’s more consrvative than Bush.

What’s his position on illegal immigration? Hell, give him a shave, a dark blue suit and a good PR team and he could be the Republican front runner in the Zogby polls by October.

Alden Pyle on September 7, 2007 at 11:18 PM

Fake.

That’s my opinion as a TV producer with 20 years under the belt.

The giveaway is the distorted audio. That is processed audio.

As for resemblance to OBL, there is actually a guy in Pakistan who has been arrested 3 times because of his uncanny resemblance to OBL. Very possible that they got his son, whose voice is supposed to closely resemble dear old dads, to do the audio.

And then came the amateurish audio processing of the voice that you hear in that clip.

Fake fake fake.

OBL is dead.

wordwarp on September 8, 2007 at 12:04 AM

Even if it isn’t fake, it seems like Usama bin Hidin’ has lost a lot of his spark and energy. I’d say it was fake just because if it were real, OBL wouldn’t sound depressed and defeated.

I do love how Kos is silent though. I mean, OBL would be the perfect candidate: He’s a massive hypocrite when it comes to anti-war, women’s rights, religious freedom, and supporting the little guy. Since hypocrisy is the number one trait of any Democratic candidate, I say vote Osama, not Obama.

No, he supports a theocratic police state, which means even if he did have a weak federal government, the sharia thought police would be out in force with their stones at the ready.

No way is that Osama Bin Laden. The beard is fake and he has the voice of a young man and then wearing the same robe as in the videos of long time ago, that’s a feeble attempt to imitate Osama.

And as far as what he said, if the guy had been speaking English it could have been a speech from Harry Reid, except for the part about high taxes.
