Hsu update: He’s never registered to vote? Update: Hillary to appear tonight at fundraiser hosted by ex-con?

The Blotter mines the immigration wrinkle. The Times mentioned in passing last week that Hsu is a naturalized U.S. citizen but didn’t source that fact to anyone or anything. Given the new and ever larger holes being blown in his biography by newspapers on a daily basis, I’m curious to know how sturdy that particular detail is. As mentioned in the last Hsu post, the FBI said it “got help” from ICE last night on the arrest. Maybe that just means cross-checking fingerprints against Hsu’s pre-naturalization records, maybe it means more. Simple exit question to go with the equally simple enduring question of how he made his money: if he’s a citizen and therefore eligible to vote, and if he’s interested enough in politics to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars and raise hundreds of thousands more for various candidates, why hasn’t he ever gotten around to pulling the lever?

Update: You’ve got to be kidding.

Update: He couldn’t feel his legs and was manifesting symptoms of dementia? Sounds like he was on something.

I love it, I love it!

Funny how here recently the “traditional” scandals are seemingly reversed: Democrats with money issues, and Republicans getting caught with their pants down (literally)

JamesLee on September 7, 2007 at 1:06 PM

Well obviously he voted with his wallet……(or the Chinese governments wallet…)

doriangrey on September 7, 2007 at 1:06 PM

The Clintons and China… like to peas in a pod.

Maxx on September 7, 2007 at 1:11 PM

Then voted with his feet.

TexasDan on September 7, 2007 at 1:11 PM

Hsudo donations – they’ll get you everytime.

Rick on September 7, 2007 at 1:13 PM

Interestingly its when Hsu was suppose to surrender his PASSPORT that he made the effort to flee

Something on there he didnt want seen ?

Maybe, he was so busy supporting the candidates and trying to get out the vote, that, like many people, it somehow slipped his mind or he thought his individual vote wouldn’t matter.

Or the ‘Vote or Die!’ campaign didn’t target his age bracket?

Canadian Infidel on September 7, 2007 at 1:19 PM

Sorta OT: Hsu was looking to get to Denver and present himself to the thriving human trafficking racket there; he was trying to flee the country under the the radar. (I posted this in the other thread.)

Also in story the “US State Department
Diplomatic Security Service ” assissted in the arrest.

That branch of the State Department is the law enforcement arm. They would be the ones targeting Hsu Passport use. So the Feds were looking at the fleeing overseas angle

William Amos on September 7, 2007 at 1:22 PM

He was on his way to turn himself over to Tancredo.

This story will result in nothing other then a fine and some community service. The media will forget about it before Monday Night Football.

Hillary to appear tonight at fundraiser hosted by ex-con?

So will they be serving Pruno?

EnochCain on September 7, 2007 at 1:27 PM

I’d almost bet my left nut that by the time it’s all said and done, Hsu is revealed to be a PLA officer (no lower rank than colonel).

Seth Brundle: You have to leave now, and never come back here. Have you ever heard of insect politics? Neither have I. Insects… don’t have politics. They’re very… brutal. No compassion, no compromise. We can’t trust the insect. I’d like to become the first… insect politician. Y’see, I’d like to, but… I’m afraid, uh…

EnochCain on September 7, 2007 at 1:33 PM

Why don’t the Clinton’s just save themselves some time and solicit donations using the inmate list of the Federal Prison System?

Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, shames those people.

BacaDog on September 7, 2007 at 1:34 PM

Hsu walks away from two million in bond money and all he can raise for Billary is a miserable one-hundred grand ? Gee, if you going to call long distance all the way to China to get more money for the Democrats… you would think he could do better than that. Maybe the Donks were not happy with his performance this year…. thus Hsu finds himself in the gulag.

Maxx on September 7, 2007 at 1:35 PM

I liked the first picture better. Hsu cowering was good one.

Theworldisnotenough on September 7, 2007 at 1:36 PM

For a serious answer as to why he didn’t vote, if he lived in New York or California and believed the Presidential votes in the state would vote Democratic, why register and get yourself on the roles? He was only one vote.

Canadian Infidel on September 7, 2007 at 1:38 PM

How many incidents and connections to corrupt fundraisers does it take to reach a tipping point with HillBilly? The only consolation at this point is if/when they come down, they are going to come down hard considering the history they have behind them.

Mallard T. Drake on September 7, 2007 at 1:40 PM

Wow, Mrs. Bill Clinton is as arrogant as Elvira Arellano! Can you imagine if a Republican pulled this? But, there’s nothing to see here, move along to Craig’s waffling on resigning or Britney Smears on the VMAs…

NTWR on September 7, 2007 at 1:41 PM

The Clintons and China… like to peas in a pod.

Pea pods, a.k.a. snow peas, are one of my favorite Chinese ingredients.

So Hsu never registered to vote? When did a little technicality like that ever stop a Clinton donator or fundraiser? Citizen or not, resident or not, registered or not, who cares? To the Clintons, you can pass the campaign cash no matter what. It’s no problem at all!

Liberals have a big, BIG (criminal loving) tent.
Why Liberals Always Protect crooks?

Professional courtesy (the money helps).
It’s also why crooks always vote for liberals.

Democrats have cultivated the ‘crook’ vote.

A fairly sizable segment of the American populace have learned to enjoy and expect the largess of ’slightly’ bad behavior and the sneaky pleasure of getting away with it, this is the (yea we bad) glorifying grassroots foundation that helps spawn much worse criminal behavior.

From parking ticket absconders to illegal aliens to outright felons (what’s a little identity theft?), the liberal tent is all welcoming.

Whether it’s rights for the dependent indolent or if the term serial killer is what appears before your prefix (Sir, Ms. Mr. Mrs.) or any amount or level of illegal or immoral behavior in between, don’t worry, you have the liberal accredited right to vote, for them; vote for a sweet soft criminal activity loving Democrat, hey, it’s all good, if not immoral.

Don’t sweat the naughty details, just vote, liberal, you crooks.

Alright with all of the updates to the information concerning folks who help raise money for the Clinton’s I am convinced. I am switching to the Democrat party. It will be such a relief to get rid of this burden of personal accountability. I am now free to do anything I want whether that involves stashing 90K in cash in my freezer or playing foot tag in a bathroom. Heck Barney Frank ran a gay child prostitution ring out of his apartment fer chrissake. Since I am now a Dem my wife can be a stand by her man woman while I go philandering around the country. Man this is great.
/I don’t have to hug Chavez or Assad do I? That might be a deal breaker.

Norman Hsu (felon). Raul Martinez (felon).

And today, the trial of the biggest political fund-raiser EVER, Peter Paul (felon), vs. Clinton:

Y’know, if this were a dirty Republican fundraiser, the Hsu story would absolutely dominate the frontpages and airwaves. I mean, Paris Hilton would have to electrocute her dog or Rosie would have to be caught making out with a man to knock this story out if it were a Republican scandal!

The link below (copied/pasted from top) should clarify things. Hsu and tonights fundraiser are two different news items. Though they may be connected more than we now know.

More felons with that unspoken party connection:

September 7, 2007
SPRINGFIELD — A high-ranking official in Gov. Blagojevich’s (What, no ‘R’?) office spent nearly two years in a federal prison for refusing to aid a government terrorism probe into a series of bombings in Chicago and New York City.

Steven Guerra, Blagojevich’s $120,000-a-year deputy chief of staff for community services, was identified by federal prosecutors as a member of the Puerto Rican separatist group, FALN, which was behind a wave of violence and killings in the 1970s and early 1980s.

……..

Finally, in paragraph 6, a mention of political party:

Gov. Blagojevich’s office said Guerra disclosed his felony conviction to the administration before his 2003 hiring. Aides said the governor intends to stand by Guerra. He was recommended for the job by Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), who lobbied President Bill Clinton to grant clemency to 11 imprisoned FALN members in 1999.

Oh no, not that pesky issue of Clinton’s clemency for terrorists again.

Still a mystery what party the Governor and his deputy chief of staff belong to. Any guesses?

http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/546449,CST-NWS-faln07.article

From the Governor’s wiki bio, with more Clinton connections:

The Fifth Congressional District, in which Blagojevich lived, had long been represented by powerful Chicago Congressman Daniel Rostenkowski (no ‘D’)…

Following Blagojevich’s election as governor, the Fifth District elected former Clinton aide and 1992 financial chief Rahm Emanuel. Emanuel was chosen to head the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for the 2006 election cycle.

fred5678 on September 7, 2007 at 9:07 PM

Fred, any guess who now holds the Fifth District congressional seat?

Tick, tock, tick, tock…

That’s right, boys and girls, Rahm the Worm Emanuel! Ah, Chicago politics. What a friggin’ cess pool of DemoRat corruption…

Exactly! From my referenced post, showing the continuity from sleazeball to sleazeball:

Definitely no shame into Hitlerly machine. Money no matter how funny (do not forget the fact that China and others have been counterfeiting U.S. Dollars for years) as long as it is negotiable.

Hitlerly, her husband of record, and the machine behind her do not value your viewpoint. They only value the money and once they have it to heck with you, your off the bus.
