Blotter: New Videotape From Bin Laden; Al Qaeda’s No. 1 Still Alive

Intelligence sources tell ABC News they believe the expected video message from Osama bin Laden is authentic, recently produced and evidence the al Qaeda leader is still alive.

U.S. authorities now say they have a transcript which they say is aimed at potential suicide bombers who he urges to carry out missions against the West.

stared at the photo for a long time. i think that is him. I’m looking at the diagonal shape of the bags under his eyes. I actually prefer him alive. This needs to be done right.

Why even speculate as to what is photoshopped?
Well, I suppose it is an interesting exercise if yu are into forensic digital manipulation.

Even if he was still alive, He, as an individual hasn’t REALLY even mattered once his personal funds were cut off before the end of 2001. He may have been a ’spiritual’ leader prior to Tora Bora, but even if he survived that, he no longer really mattered in the overall scheme of things.

He never was a “mastermind” nor even a good ops planner. Zawahiri did/does that. Zawahiri is the one I want to see ‘waxed’ or captured’.

Way too many people on both sides have strategic and emotional investments in ‘keeping him alive’ to the world.

So, every so often, Al Qaeda kludges up some old video and/or stills of him and audio of him; Occasionally they splice in some audio done by some arab ‘Rich Little’ DOING Osama to make it seem a little more current.

The CIA and the other western intel services say “oh yeah, that is Osama, and it is recent”….. Because they are afraid that their budgets will be cut if they admit that Osama isn’t even worm food or maggot excrement anymore; All that is left is maybe some bone fragments and hair.

The media goes along with it because it is one more thing that they can call a “Bush Failure”. Bush goes along with it because if he agrees Osama is dead, he will have to fight the Dems that much more to not cut the funds on the anti-terrorism operations.

For a while, back about four years ago, I thought Osama MIGHT be hiding in Chirac’s basement in Paris, (or maybe Putin’s in Moscow etc.) with 24 hour medical service and regular dialysis to stave off his death from kidney failure, but it became quite obvious to me that he wasn’t even “pinin’ for the Fjords” anymore.

Notice how the face in the top picture is the same color as the background, and the same is true on the bottom picture. That’s about as sophisticated a photoshopping job as using the default Word font for a 1972 typewritten memo.
