Just wait till you actually demo one of these things and hold it in your hand. This is one of those products you have to play with before you can truly appreciate the technology. It’s very impressive.

You’ve got that right about Itunes. I used for a few weeks and then purged my computer of every trace of that nightmare. I will say this about the Zune-ware: it is easy to use and I can upload anything I want to my player (provided it is in an acceptable format). I can say that about Itunes.

Still, now I can get an iPhone for 200 dollars cheaper–the target is lower now. Just load up a page with ads, and then make some “bash Mormons/Catholics supporting Immigration while Fred! fiddles and Mitt kisses Ted Kennedy” post and I’d imagine you would get a nice 2-5000 post thread… maybe enough in ad revenue to afford one.

Though I, personally, would want to slit my wrists before participating in a thread like that… all KINDS of chaos in there.

Oh, and as for Apple being Leftist? Yeah, but they still make a darn good product. I’m a happy conservative using them!

I know there have been some bad Charter Bulldogs made in the past, but I’ve heard the new ones are well-made.

Sorry, See-dub, but Mr. Kimmer’s guyPod is more German, like a Walther P-1 (postward P-38). He seems to like it, though. Won’t be able to pry it out of his cold dead hands.

Not a bad price for a smaller screen and no expandability, I suppose.

Meanwhile, competitors like Creative will be busy kicking Apple’s ass on features, usability, and reliability.

I have a 40gig Zen Touch. I agree it sounds better than my iPod. Creative uses a better encoder. But I must disagree with you on reliability and ease of use. My wife had a five gig CL Micro and it was a piece of junk. Also, the software that is bundled with the players are anything but user-friendly OR intuitive. The iPod is much easier to use.
