You know what… if the so called gay community wants to earn some respect from the public, here is their big chance to do so. Somebody from the gay advocacy group should stand up and say … Hey leave Jerry alone… it wasn’t that bad, the man has done a lot of good for kids and we know how to forgive.

Being gay myself, I have a few issues with these so-called gay advocacy groups. Actually, I have issues with almost all so-called advocacy groups, as they’re usually nothing more than a bunch of people whining about how someone in the distant past hurt their oh-so-precious feelings. Most of these advocates suffer from what Tammy Bruce calls “malignant narcissism,” and I think that she is spot on with that assessment.

What Jerry Lewis said was definitely inappropriate for the venue, but it was a mistake – nothing more. I’m glad he aplogized of his own free will; forced or perfunctory apologies mean nothing.

I personally believe that, just because I may not like something that someone has said, I do not have the right to tell that person cannot say it. The very concept of free speech was designed to protect unpopular speech, with, of course, exceptions for seditious or inciteful speech.

That said, the comment was made and was apologozed for, so it’s time to move on.

Surprise of Surprises, both PMSNBC and CNN are practically making this their top story of the night, complete with commentators, eyewitnesses, you name it. Fox News gave it like maybe 20 seconds of air time, and then moved on to other news. I myself am waiting with bated breath for the Dom Imus comparisons. They should be showing up any given second now.

It was just a couple weeks ago there were multiple articles posted regarding people who are overweight, and there sure was no lack of “slurs” used to describe them…….. Sure sounds like the good ‘ol double standard to me.

Do you think anyone would take them seriously ? Rednecks after all are just a bunch of southern white guys, they require no special protection. SARN would be hooted down, everybody would tell them to grow-up. And that is exactly what should happen !! Should I and a few million other Americans be denied my favorite comedian and much needed comic relief just because SARN is offended ? Absolutely not ! They need to get a life and learn to deal with it, it’s a free country after all.

So why is any different with other identifiable groups? It shouldn’t be, grow-up, learn to laugh, roll with the punches, get a life, and quite trying to trample my and three-hundred and fifty million other Americans Free Speech. If you don’t like it, move to where there is no Free Speech…. and happy trails. America… love it or leave it !!

I know that in Indonesia or Malaysia they have put a parental advisory on the Holy Bible because it has ‘graphic content’ (like an R rating) – and it does. Ironically that move will probably make the Bible even MORE popular.

Hell, the apologies are more difficult to listen to than the offense – and no cares, really.

If Lewis does offer an apology, I hope Don Rickles writes it for him.

You stated that already, and it’s still nonsense. What he said causes no damage outside of offense, which is protected under the first amendment. Again, you don’t get it. Yelling “fire” in a theater causes imminent threat to people’s safety. This causes imminent threat to NO ONE. You only want to ban it because you don’t like it.
