Dang!

It was a real Korean noodle commercial.

With a comic tight shot of a cute girl’s face, shown only from the nose up, slurping on something delicious… below camera view… with B.J. Clintonian suggestiveness implied.

But, when the camera pulled back at the end, you could see it was only a college girl in her room leaning over and eating a bowl of the advertized noodles.

Very droll and hot.

And clearly too sexy for youtubby.

(Or maybe the soup company objected?)

Music sooths the savage beast. But eventually you can only take so much, then you have to take out your frustration on something.

Great idea to have the drums there to allow the gorilla to send his message out loud and clear, guitar would have been too complicated for him.

Most of the posted ads were good.

The first time I heard the song In the Air Tonight was on MTV. I was not actually watching TV at the time, so I had no idea the title of the song or the artist. I was 19 years old on active duty in the US Coast Guard aboard the CGC Boutwell out of Seattle, WA. I was your typical young black man angry about nothing for any particular reason. We were leaving on a 90 day patrol the next day. But, something about that song made sense to me. Later during that patrol I was involved in the largest rescue operation at the time, when the luxury liner USS Princendam caught fire in the Gulf of Alaska. My cutter was the on scene command during that operation and all during the rescue the song keep ringing in my head. It seemed to pinpoint the actual event in which I was then participating; the moment of truth for me, as I was stretched to my limits both physically and mentally. We were able to successfully rescue everyone. And I found myself no longer an angry man. But I was a man that had truly fulfilled his destiny. And found his purpose in life. 22 years later I retired from the Coast Guard. But that song and that moment will always be a part of my life.

I know this is a bit maudlin, But hey I couldn’t help myself.
