Watching this, I can see how he did so well for himself despite the decades of rumors swirling around him.

Craig made it easy for us by being an obvious liar. If he had admitted being guilty instead of this “guilty, but I didn’t do it, and the cop’s a liar, and he seduced me first” garbage, we would be facing the real dilemma AP talks about.

Vitter admitted a past sin and asked for forgiveness. In Craig’s case, you wouldn’t even want to shake his hand unless you were sure had just washed it.

While I agree that the skeeze factor of the public bathroom was a big reason why he’s on his way out, I actually disagree that with this last statement you make, if he did go into a ladies room, he’d be getting called a predator, the only difference would be instead of laughing at him, people would want to lynch him for being a sicko predator to innocent women.

I was briefly listening to “John and Ken Show”, a conservative radio show out here in LA, and they had a caller who was a psychologist or psychiatrist who specializes in counseling men who do the sort of activity Sen Craig was doing. He said that, predominately, the guys he counseled were married with kids, and typically did this type of behavior a lot. If the counselor ever proposed to his patient that they could, perhaps, be gay for doing that type of behavior, the counselor said the patients would almost always get indignant on him and would deny vehemently that they were homosexual.

The counselor then went on to say that for the vast majority of his patients, they engaged in this sort of activity because it was a thrill to do it. They would get a big rush when meeting up in some random, public, place and engage in some form of sex.

It was a short, but fascinating and informative discussion from the caller, who, unfortunately, got his call in at the last 5 minutes of the hour it was being discussed. The caller gave a good insight into the mindset and rationalizing these men are stuck with. I believe that KFI, the radio station that hosts the radio program, puts mp3’s of the show for the public to download. It’s free, but you may need to go through a dopey registration before you get can access. I believe it was during the 4 o’clock hour (PST). The website is http://www.kfi.com and, once again, the radio show is “John and Ken Show”.
