LAT wonders: How could Hillary not have known about Hsu?

The unstated yet clearly implied answer: maybe she did.
As Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu confronted an old criminal case and faced a new FBI investigation Friday, a fundamental question persisted: How did Democratic presidential front-runner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign fail to see the red flags in Hsu’s contributions?…
The most obvious red flag: A check of a commonly used database produces a 1990 San Francisco Chronicle news story detailing how Norman Hsu had been kidnapped by gang members in the San Mateo County suburb of Foster City. A second widely used database discloses that Norman Yuan Yuen Hsu of Foster City had a bankruptcy in 1990…
In most instances, a donor’s background is well-known. But if the person is not known to the campaign, that person will be vetted.
All major campaigns employ researchers who investigate their opponents, and pick over their candidates’ donors, particularly those who are raising six-figure sums. Some campaigns retain consulting firms specifically to vet donors.
One consultant said some campaigns ask donors for permission to run background checks because political opponents almost certainly will investigate the sources of their foes’ campaign money.
“[O]ne of the top 20 Democratic fund-raisers in the country,” the Journal pronounced him earlier this week. If you include his “associates,” among whom is one ostensibly middle-class family that somehow managed to donate more this year than the Gettys who live in Pacific Heights, he’s into seven digits in total contributions. According to the latest Journal report about the DOJ’s investigations of those same, ahem, “associates,” “many acquaintances in New York say they aren’t sure what he did for a living.” This isn’t going away, Hillary.

As I mentioned the other day, since Hiilary still receives Secret Service protection, they had to know that a known fugitive was in her presence, and I would bet dollars to donuts that she personally gave the OK to over ride any SS beef with such a situation. I’ll bet She knew, they all knew, and that it runs even deeper and darker than this little faux pas. It’s the Clintoon machine, wouldn’t put it past them to allow this out in order to smokescreen the real ugly dirt.

This isn’t just Hillary’s problem, but a problem for all those candidates on Flip’s list. That’s quite a lot of money thrown around and no one bothered to check who was giving it? Seems that those widely used databases weren’t so widely used by any of the Democrats. Or, did they decide that after seeing Hillary or one of the other big names taking money that it was okay for them to take it as well?

Allah – depends on how you want to break down the figures.
In direct contributions – he gave more to the DSCC, Ed Rendell, Andy Cuomo, Spitzer, and the TN and MI Dem Parties. When you factor in the additional contributions from the likes of the Paws, Hillary comes out on top.
And for those keeping score – the DSCC is run by none other than Chuck Schumer.
Obama and Richardson can’t attack Hillary because they received Hsu’s money as well. Joe Biden got from affiliated money.

China is a huge issue here. Anyone who knows ANYTHING about the PRC knows that trying to Buy the White House is Something they would do if they could.
They have been taking money from them since the 1990s with Buddhist monks etc as fronts.
This is one of the best ways to go after her. Tell the public what the People Republic of China is up to and then emphasize here connects to it.

It’s not just the LAT that is wondering Allah! The more interesting question is whether Mr. Hsu will be the Jack Abramhoff of 2008. IMO, all signs are pointing that direction if the MSM doesn’t decide to spin the matter (which they probably will). That’s why Hillary was able to get away with buying off Puerto Rican terrorists for pardons.

Yet another piece of evidence that Hillary Clinton is simultaneously the most brilliant and most gullible person in the nation. She didn’t know Bill was fooling around on her, any of the multidude of times he did. She didn’t know it was wrong to fire the travel office staff. She didn’t know the Rose billing records were in her quarters. She didn’t know that selling short on a commodity, while actively lobbying against that industry from a position of influence, was against SEC laws. She didn’t know that one of her biggest donors was a foreign national criminal. She didn’t know there were no WMDs, in spite of claiming to have studied the issue for a decade. It’s amazing how all of the things Hillary doesn’t know are related to criminal (or at least scandalous) activity by herself, her husband, or AlGore.
But she’s certain she knows how to run a country, and she was certain she could create a working socialized healthcare system in a capitalistic nation. And she certainly knows how to speak to her audience. Any audience.
