I don’t. Most of the Saudi royal family is pretty much Westernized. They just have to run their mouth and utter a “death to Israel” or some stupid crap like that because they’re sitting on a powder keg just as dangerous as Musharif’s. I bet they regret letting the Muslim Brotherhood in now.

Pakistan couldn’t defend its borders if their lives depended on it, in addition to the issue of a population that refuses law and order in favor of theocracy, and a military that will not fight against Muslims.

In the event of a serious threat from Pakistan, would the only option be to bomb the sh*t out of them?

I wouldn’t consider the democratic party and its press an ally.

Truely, America has only one real ally, Australia. Even Canada is basically controlled by the Left and the likes of Avi Lewis, so don’t count on Canada carrying water for the US. Britain? Same story. So really, the US is basically alone, as Mark Steyn said. With the possible exception of Australia.

The real question is not who is an ally, since the US has none, but who is not an enemy. Right now, all of South America can be considered an enemy. All of southeast Asia, Russia, China, and the entire Middle East also in the ideological enemy camp.

It is going to get interesting. I just hope our economy does not go to pot by going to WWIII. In fact, it may get a boost. Either way, a lot of bad people with bad ideas will be cleared from the planet when all is said and done.

I’m optimistic that just as WWII was necessary, ended well, and made a better world, so too this big one coming. It will make WWII look like a Broadway play, but the paradigm shift it will bring in how the world functions might be worth it.

Incidentally, there was a news story last week that knowledge by Americans regarding foreign affairs is not good. I tend to disagree with that as a generalization, but when I see comments like slp’s above I have to wonder.

Canada is not the US 5th worst ally…there is no point is rehashing the facts, but I will say that this past week just saw the 70th Canadian (69th soldier and 1 diplomat) killed in Afghanistan. How many Aussies have fallen in Iraq. (I think I’m right that, thank God, none).
