Video: Bill Richardson to Telemundo: Vote for me because I’m Hispanic

Race-based pandering at its finest. Because, of course, all immigrants are Latino, and all Latino immigrants think exactly the same way, and whether they’re here legally or illegally really doesn’t matter.

-Wasteland Man.

(He Aint that great of a governor either!)

WastelandMan on August 27, 2007 at 2:03 PM

Yeah, but he said it with a black accent, wearing gucci loafers, while munching on a knish. Is there a message here?

JiangxiDad on August 27, 2007 at 2:05 PM

Richardson claims to have been the victim of descrimination when he came to the U.S. I can see by the results that it was devastating to his career and to his personal life. The U.S. treats its immigrants shamefully, and Richardson is just the person to fix that.

I thought Hillary said that.

Kowboy on August 27, 2007 at 2:18 PM

No Hillary was asked if she was black enough to be president.

William Amos on August 27, 2007 at 2:22 PM

Let me get this straight. Being given the knickname “Pancho” amounts to discrimination?

That part about baseball reminded me of the SNL character Chico Esquela. “Baseball has been very very good to me.” But I guess saying that might be discrimination, too.

Oh, ok. I just thought she might have seeing as she has the gonads in the Clinton household.

Kowboy on August 27, 2007 at 2:23 PM

Why doesn’t he change his name to something more Hispanic souning like, say, Gonzales.

Seriously though, how much Hispanic background does he have?

JammieWearingFool on August 27, 2007 at 2:28 PM

One has to be a Latino to understand “the problem” of the immigrant? What about all those (legal) immigrants from Canada or Europe or Australia? Does one have to be a Latino to understand these folks problems…. NO! Shame on Richardson if, for no other reason, for confusing the issue of immigration reform with that of illegal criminals already lurking in our nation- poised to vote the minute the “rats” give them the ability to do so.

I had some respect for Bill Richardson but that is quickly evaporating as he continues to pander for votes by taking positions no American president should have. It is a shame really because he is the only halfway decent candidate among the “rat” wannabes. As it stands, Richardson should be running for President of Mexico because that is clearly where his allegiences lie on this very important issue.

Trust in every brother yo
Some don’t give a damn
Because they are the other man

Posing as Uncle Toms
Disgracing the race
Blowing up

With some of them looking
Just like you

“Baseball has been bery bery good to me” Just to be accurate what with cultural sensitivies and all.

Vote early, vote often, amigos.

His next step will be to lobby for electoral college votes for Mexico and all the potential undocumented Americanos.

moonsbreath on August 27, 2007 at 2:33 PM

Not withstanding the fact that Richardson was born in California, did he or did he not claim on this video to be the victim of descrimination when he came to the U.S. from Mexico City when he was 16 years old?

jaime on August 27, 2007 at 2:39 PM

Telemundo is RACIEST! I can’t understand a word they say. That’s why I boycott them and never watch.

Masscon on August 27, 2007 at 2:50 PM

Excuse me. Isn’t Telemundo part of the NBC family? According to this nativist (me), it is. I read the information in English off of the NBC Universal website.

Open borders….universal health care…..NBC……Why I am not surprised??????

Man cant wait to see Olby on Telemundo

So he will be the first President of Aztlan?

Tim Burton on August 27, 2007 at 3:05 PM

What would Democrats do without the race card? They use it so often.

katieanne on August 27, 2007 at 3:22 PM

Apparently then, as a white man, I must recognize the problem of the law abiding U.S. citizen.

Politicians… cretins blowing smoke up our a$$ since 10,000 B.C.

Oops, I mean, mi malo! :-)

Bigfoot on August 27, 2007 at 3:25 PM

The only question is, will that sorry performance be enough to lock down Hillary’s VP spot? It might well be.

Race-based pandering? Check.

Calls for socialized medicine? Check.

Blending both? Clintonian.

Kid from Brooklyn on August 27, 2007 at 3:28 PM

He was called Pancho, I was called skinny…only I got the cr*p beat out of me every other day…until I grew up and found out bully’s only pick on the weak.
Similiar to bureaucrats picking on us.

Richardson, I think we should all have health insurance. How about you having the same insurance as me (and paying for it like me)? How about you having the same retirement program as the rest of us (and pay in the same amount as the rest of us)? How about Social Security (and paying the sme as us), what? You don’t care enough about your “subjects” to take on their burdens.

What would Democrats do without the race card? They use it so often.

Hiding money in freezer, giving contracts to husbands businesses, throw Oreo’s at other minority candidates…they certainly could not become a “Reverend”, or a political candidate.

right2bright on August 27, 2007 at 3:50 PM

Vote for me because I’m Hispanic

Im Sparticus

William Amos on August 27, 2007 at 4:00 PM

Actually, as dems go, he is the most qualified out of the oh-so-crowded field. Shrillery will never let him get the nomination though. Something terribly un-American or scandalous will find it’s way to the surface about him. Now, for VP, he has a chance. Pathetic.

24K lady on August 27, 2007 at 4:44 PM

Meet our next VP.

jaime on August 27, 2007 at 2:39 PM

IIRC, Richardson is 3/4s ethnically Mexican. Also IIRC, his family moved to Mexico when he was a child and then came back.

baldilocks on August 27, 2007 at 4:50 PM

I was called “big ears” and “Mick” and was told “Your dad is an Irish drunkard” Darn, I could’a whined.

If you haven’t already, this is a must read from Center for Immigration Studies.
It also has this Reference to Bill Richardson.

Immigration and Usurpation
Elites, Power, and the People’s Will
July 2006
By Fredo Arias-King

“Bill Richardson, who had served in Clinton’s cabinet and later became governor of New Mexico, kindly stopped to speak to our delegation at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles. He commented favorably to us: “What do Hispanics want? Fully funded government programs!” The Economist mentioned about his state:

New Mexico is a poor place, with one of the highest proportion of people living on food stamps … Its political tradition also long had a Latin American feel, based around a padrón system of clients and bosses. The bosses ran grocery stores, gave you credit, helped you if you needed a job. And all you had to do was vote for the Democrats … New Mexican politics is still about jobs, contracts and personal loyalty, not ideology. And Mr. Richardson personifies this.”

jaime on August 27, 2007 at 6:54 PM

You should have seen his pandering back when he was running for governor down here. I wish I could find a clip of one of the speeches he was giving on the reservations all over the state…you’d have thought he was a full-blooded Pueble Indian the way he talked back then.
