Video: Geraldo propagandizes for Elvira Arellano

posted at 9:21 pm on August 26, 2007 by Allahpundit

Cheesy melancholy background music? Check. Exploited child as political prop? Check. References to Arellano as an “immigrant” without the all important qualifier? Check. Convenient omission of how thrilled she is to be back in “my country”? Check.

Note how he cuts to commercial right as Pirro’s about to tick off the various crimes she committed. Did they, per his promise, return to this subject after the break? No they did not.

Pond scum. I really, really dislike this guy more and more each day.

wccawa on August 26, 2007 at 9:27 PM

Now there’s a surprise!

Pam on August 26, 2007 at 9:28 PM

Elvira is an illegal who has mobilized the rabid amnesty crowd. One showed up on John Gibson’s show to call GWB a bigger criminal than Hitler because of the way these criminals are being treated.

Geraldo is only “American” because he was born in Puerto Rico. Time to set those bastards free and give the so-called Americans from that territory a choice if they want to remain part of this country.

highhopes on August 26, 2007 at 9:29 PM

Barferaldo Cut to that break FAST boy.

Texyank on August 26, 2007 at 9:34 PM

Geez, I changed the channel to Fox during a Dodger game and opps, Geraldo and his boo freaking hoo party was on. Barf.

ajmontana on August 26, 2007 at 9:34 PM

Gee next thing you know Geraldo will be belly down in the sand giving his position away along the border by drawing stick figures in the sand.

Oh..sorry…he already did that in Iraq.

186k on August 26, 2007 at 9:39 PM

Perhaps Geraldo could be her sponsor so she could immigrate legally.

Put your money where your bias is.

Kini on August 26, 2007 at 9:39 PM

After the break…uh huh. What an @#%$#$%.

ajmontana on August 26, 2007 at 9:41 PM

Geraldo Rivera is a very sick person. Why FOX even gives him a moment of air time is beyond me. But he’s a very sick person. So is Arellano.

Memo toElvira and Geraldo:
You can clean airplane toilets in Mexico too you know.

How come the left isn’t worried about the coming theocracy when it comes to this church substituting its judgment for the actual law of the land?

Drew on August 26, 2007 at 9:53 PM

I was wondering why Gerry went south. That kid looks just like him. Coincidence?

repvoter on August 26, 2007 at 9:55 PM

Geraldo is only “American” because he was born in Puerto Rico. Time to set those bastards free and give the so-called Americans from that territory a choice if they want to remain part of this country.

I’ve encountered more than a few people like Geraldo Rivera from Puerto Rico who lecture (as does Geraldo) the U.S. about all the special services and loopholes and considerations that “Hispanics” “have to” be “given” (for whatever reason Geraldo can rationalize). It seems the U.S. has spawned a disturbed segment of population among Puerto Rico, who want citizenship because, as I hear, they receive U.S. taxpayer subsidies (mostly individual welfare helps) but don’t have to pay taxes. Thus, they want to continue on with Puerto Rico as-is (don’t want statehood because that would then require residents to pay taxes like everyone else as part of the U.S.), but as long as they can remain a Territory, they escape the individual tax responsibility but can still draw U.S. taxpayer benefits, so to speak (subsidies, namely social welfare programs).

It’s an inequitable situation for U.S. taxpayers, not only due to the relatively lack of responsibilities by the residents of Puerto Rico but also this now rebound effect by many from Puerto Rico such as Geraldo who now lecture the U.S. citizens on all that we aren’t doing but need to be doing for “Hispanics.”

They seem to have a Hispanic ethnic-supremacy problem, but I find that is present among most nations/countries that are predominantly Hispanic. They are too isolated over time among their own kind and thus, they have some sort of “imperialistic” need to “conquer” (lecture, replace, whatever) the general U.S. population.

It’s a problem. But Geraldo’s problems run deeper than that (and that is bad enough as a problem). He appears truly disturbed from an intellectual perspective, if not corrupt as an individual. His boastful declaration of himself as “a Revolutionary” is more of the problem of which I write here…born of isolated ethnic-supremacy, just like Castro, Hugo Chavez, so many other disturbed Hispanics who run amok due to their egoism.

S on August 26, 2007 at 9:56 PM

That does it! Now Geraldo is officially an enemy of the state!

TheSitRep on August 26, 2007 at 9:57 PM

to Goraldo and all his illegal alien friends
please read. BTW this is ENGLISH ONLY..

Also, I’ve noticed a measurable uptake in that pejorative on the internet lately — calling people (inaccurately, inappropriately, irreverantly), “Klansmen” — when and as they oppose amnesty for illegal aliens, support border and national security and immigration enforcement.

It’s a problem BY Hispanics about everyone else. Like Geraldo, like Arellano, they suffer some sort of limitation that can’t evaluate their own actions/intents reasonably and seeks to disparage everyone else who “gets in their way.” Our borders, laws and the identities of others “get in their way” and make their illigitimate behaviors ~more difficult~ and thus, we’re their problem, not their own behavior and bad ethics.

Geraldo should not be receiving airtime in the U.S. with the exception of, perhaps, America’s Most Wanted and various History Channel coverage as to issues of a problematic nature.

S on August 26, 2007 at 10:00 PM

WHY DOES HE HAVE A SHOW?

BadgerHawk on August 26, 2007 at 10:00 PM

Elvira is the Cindy Sheehan of the illegal immigration debate.
So long as Geraldo has a camera and mic, we haven’t heard the last of this moonbat

ToddonCapeCod on August 26, 2007 at 10:03 PM

WHY DOES HE HAVE A SHOW?

BadgerHawk on August 26, 2007 at 10:00 PM

Because FOX is “Fair and Balanced” don’t you remember?

Sgt. Khe Sahn

1GooDDaDDy on August 26, 2007 at 10:04 PM

WHY DOES HE HAVE A SHOW?

I think it’s something akin to drive-by accidents, some editor at FOX (or perhaps Murdoch, I don’t know) assumes people want to listen to / watch Geraldo like an accident on drive-by — the “outrageous” appeal: “it’s too awful, so look at it.”

But about Geraldo, FOX is just wrong. Geraldo remains one of the most disgusting and irreverantly illogical, squeaky-manipulative creeps I’ve ever seen or heard on air. FOX is just wrong to give this man any airtime, any at all.

S on August 26, 2007 at 10:05 PM

Someone HAS to confront Hispanic ethnic-supremacists; in the media, on the air, in real time. Someone HAS to, somewhere, confront this Monster. Of which, Geraldo is the “lips” in that “Lips and Ears” configuration. It’s not a nice or good thing to bring up, but it has to be confronted. Eventually.

S on August 26, 2007 at 10:08 PM

And why is it, again. that we want the U.S. to turn into Mexico?

profitsbeard on August 26, 2007 at 10:12 PM

Geraldo is a douche bag, Oh and Geraldo if the US had deported your good buddy John Lennon like they should have John would still be alive today…think about that you fu%king turd…

Immigration-rights support lagging?

Elvira Arellano makes a good example for cracking down on immigration, not even illegal supporters are happy with her.

Ripclawe on August 26, 2007 at 10:18 PM

Why do these people always mention the minutemen and the klansman in the same sentence. How about this one-LaRassa and the drug cartels.

Legions on August 26, 2007 at 10:19 PM

We’re getting invaded from the south from the “La Rasa” gang, and people from the middle east from the “Islamic fanatics” croud.

Theres no where else to go…I say we invade Canada for a little “leibens ruhme”.

Geez, I’m just kidding all you trolls out there.

Elbow room” would be a slangy translation.

profitsbeard on August 26, 2007 at 10:32 PM

Mispelled German for “More Room to live”.

It was the excuse for the the nazies to invade Poland (and all of Europe for that matter).

Guys, I not trying to equate this with the nazis, let the left nutroots do that. But Canada has some great fishing holes. Think about it.

crying, touchy-feely,sad song,saga of a soap
opera of an illegal alien who broke the law.
But again were dealing with libs, forget about logic

So the liberal media will play this clip pulling at the

non compassionate Republicans, which we know is a LIE.

Seriously, someone at Fox management needs to have a sit-down with Geraldo and tell him to ease off or something. I mean, pretty much every rational person can tell the man’s an idiot when it comes to issues like immigration, but he’s really started to go beyond the pale with it all.

Vyce on August 26, 2007 at 11:11 PM

Well, “lieben ruhm” would be “love fame.”

Merovign on August 26, 2007 at 11:12 PM

That piece of comedic propaganda approaches Reefer Madness for its humor. The music, the fem “senior field producer”, the alcoholic voice of Slim Coleman, the puffy-faced Elvira, mistress of the Marx, and the Head Race Monger Jerry Rivers holding off any pretense of reality for “after the break” — they had the whole thing going.

Jaibones on August 26, 2007 at 11:15 PM

La Raza Rivera in one breath agrees that laws should adhered too and in the next he turns around and excuses that very same unlawful activity because its really just our own fault and we should accept how wrong and racist we are every time we so ungraciously demand that the national betrayal…end.

Speakup on August 26, 2007 at 11:21 PM

Just a thought.

Cheesy melancholy background music?

Where are the Oak Ridge Boys when you need them? Their “Elvira” might be cheesy, but at least it’s not melancholy.

Which is the only reason I can think of that Fox would have him. Fox must figure all the rational people automatically know he’s a stinkin liar. They give Geraldo a show to appease the left. Anytime a liberal says Fox is a right wing propaganda piece all Fox has to say is “Are you serious? We host Geraldo!!” Geraldo is the anti-Malkin.

Guardian on August 26, 2007 at 11:43 PM

Firefox

Guardian on August 26, 2007 at 11:47 PM

Judging by the response, I’d say they should give her all the airtime she wants.

Asher on August 27, 2007 at 12:03 AM

Someone at FOX should fire Geraldo even as you download Firefox.

Really sick of lies from the other side of the illegal immigration debate. The cool thing is, Polls show the American people are for enforcing the laws on the books which the administration can’t get through their collective thick heads for some reason. This is a real winning issue for the GOP nominee if they will seize it. Geraldo is a real loser for FOX if he continues on the network. Firefox is a nice upgrade from ie. Be sure and check out all the cool extensions!

Ordinary1 on August 27, 2007 at 12:07 AM

Powerful. The music was moving, the son was a brave little guy, and the Minister delivered all of the talking points provided by La Raza. And the line about the Minute Men and the Klan? Priceless.

Too bad no one feels any sympathy for this woman because she broke our immigration laws and then left her son behind when she was deported. And in betwen she demands the right to live here on her terms without bothering to learn english. That’s okay – they only need her face, and her son’s – and her story. But it’s just not enough to make her a martyr for open borders. She has no character, everybody knows it; they know she’s a pawn, so they could care less.

Dork B. on August 27, 2007 at 12:08 AM

I’ll always remember Gerald Michael Riviera (aka: Geraldo Rivera – aka: Miguelito Raton) as the ethnically correct Jerry Springer wanna-be with his own short lived so-called reality show who got his face smashed in by a chair live on television while battling in the middle of his Neo-Nazi and Black guests, and as the guy who built-to-the-hilt his 2-hour long live opening of the Al Capone vault in Chicago… which was filled with nothing more than dust, dirt, cob-webs, and empty gin bottles; much like his head.

Oh yeah, lest I forget, and as the military embedded MSM reporter in Afghanistan in 2001 who, as an embedded reporter, took a gun into a war zone and then in a later report that was broadcast LIVE ON TV misplaced the scene of a “friendly fire” incident by 300 miles (which he later blamed on his confusing two different incidents, although the other incident didn’t take place until three days after his initial report), AND… who was later in 2003 censured by the U.S. military and booted out of Iraq for carelessly broadcasting details which revealed tactical information about an upcoming U.S. attack.

What a dip-$hit he is. His reports aren’t worth the spit that collects on the foam cover of his microphone as he speaks. He is the poster child for sensationalistic journalism and attention whoring.

Other than that, I wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire.

…and if I had more time I’d tell everyone how I really feel.

“Elvira is an illegal who has mobilized the rabid amnesty crowd. One showed up on John Gibson’s show to call GWB a bigger criminal than Hitler because of the way these criminals are being treated.”
Herein lies the irony: Dubya is the biggest shamnesty President ever and the lefties are too insane to see it.
Whorealdo needs to go back to PR and help make that island a better place. He could be a hero of legendary proportions in that cesspool.

Christine on August 27, 2007 at 11:28 AM

What a joke. The illegal criminal is lucky she got deported because if it was up to me, she would be in jail for a long time for breaking into the US a second time.

There is no doubt that the US would be a better place without illegal immigrants, and Whorealdo must be too stupid to see it or too ate up with latinitis to admit it.
