To me the problem with Bush and his Admisitration is that they have been too tolerant and polite when bare fisted fighting was called for. Couldn't Cheney and Rove have persuaded Bush to respond to not only the likes of Moyers but to the Democrats when they figured out a successfully executed war would give us back our identity and backbone (and the WH and Congrss for a long time)after 8 years of Clinton! Get rid of PBS I resent having to pay for that biased, left leaning, very liberal station.

Bill Moyers is on PBS because he is adored by these Clymers! They all sit around and do liberal group think and wonder why the American people despise them. Then they put on these idiot humanist "you are god" self help gurus but would never ever think about putting a Christian on their airways. They should not get one dime of tax payer money! That is the scandal here!

Moyers takes the oxy out of oxymoron

Using church pews as precincts Rove turned religion into a weapon of political combat — a battering-ram, aimed at the devil's minions, especially at gay people.

It's so easy, as Karl knew, to scapegoat people you outnumber, and if God is love, as rumor has it, Rove knew that, in politics, you better bet on fear and loathing. Never mind that in stroking the basest bigotry of true believers you coarsen both politics and religion - Moyers

The gay issue won the Presidency?

I am still working on 'the basest bigotry of true believers'
Oxy-morons always confuse me. I am worried now that I may be interacting with false believers. But maybe that is good because if Moyers is right the basest bigotry of true believers is bad. Yet if they are true believers they follow God. Is that not good? Yet they seek to crush the Devil's minions. Is that not good? Yet the devil's minions seem to be at least metro sexual? Is crushing them good? Is crushing good at all? It must be good, since Moyers crushes true believers quite well. And yet crushing is hurtful, can that be good? etc etc

Better to let Matthews crush Moyers. If one metro sexual crushes another metro sexual they cannot hurt each other for that is bad, so it will be good.

They should have never let men carry purses

Interesting... PBS admits that he is the only one who has a SHOW where his views are advertised and broadcast...

If he is so left, where is the balance? Should they not be putting equal amounts of money into shows produced by avowed people from the Right? This is partialy taxpayer funded... why are we giving one viewpoint not only a large portion, but the whole pot?

"As we stated last month in our reply to your (previous) inquiry, 'the title of the series, Bill Moyers Journal, signals to viewers that they can expect to encounter the strongly reasoned viewpoints of Bill Moyers..."

"Bill Moyer's Journal" signals no such thing. Look it up, 'journal'. By traditional usage, journalism is distinguished from editorial commentary. Hence the claim that prevailed in decades past that mainstream media was 'objective, unbiased journalism'.

Bill Moyers has become vitriolic and extremist in his later years. Representing his commentary as journalism is a prime example of why PBS needs to be liberated from taxpayer funding.

Thanks for that. Scary stuff that goes to the ruthless, Machiavellian heart of Liberalism. Clearly Moyers has not reformed and is still the same person he was as a young Democrat operative, but he can no longer blame his ethical failings on "youth".

Moyers approach is pretty typical. Most true liberals believe that God is dead - or that at best it is utterly beyond man's capacity to understand who or what God is outside the limited reach of science. They believe that this argument was won and settled in the 20th century and that almost everyone who is educated and intelligent believes this whether they want to admit it or not.

Karl rove is educated and very obviously intelligent. Moyers and other liberals can't believe anything but that he doesn't believe in God.

In essence they believe that anyone like Rove is either doing it to self-servingly gain favor with the "Uneducated and Unintelligent" among us, or that they have some deep seated and ultimately flawed emotional need to believe in God (that they are essentially intellectual cowards.)

Well Moyers... you can crap in one hand and wish in another. See how far that gets you.

A question for Bill Moyers:

Is that a voodoo doll in you pocket, or are you jusy happy to have BDS?

It's as if he expects his venal, partisan preachments to go utterly unchallenged because... well... because... they're so right.

(I thought he was in a Bush Internment Camp... how did he get out and on tv?)

I can't believe PBS would survive another minute if put to a popular vote, yet the politicians won't touch it. This is part of what fuels their elitist arrogance on issues like immigration. They think they can get away with it because they have a pretty good track record.

Bill “Daisy ad” Moyers is a partisan hack.

fred5678 on August 26, 2007 at 12:48 AM

Here's how much of a partisan hack he really is:

"When President Johnson's aide Walter Jenkins was arrested for homosexual conduct in a men's room during the 1964 campaign, Silberman said, LBJ aide Bill Moyers directed Hoover to find similar conduct on Barry Goldwater's staff." He's a hack, folks! He's not a "journalist" and civil libertarian. He is a Democrat-liberal hack! So he asks Hoover to find "similar conduct" on Barry Goldwater's Staff. "'Moyers' memo to the FBI was in one of the files,' [Silberman said]. An 'outraged' Moyers telephoned Silberman, he said, to assert that the memo was 'phony,'" and Silberman, who was a gentleman, was, "'Taken aback...' [H]e offered an investigation to publicly exonerateMoyers. 'There was a pause on the line, and then he [Moyers] said, "I was very young. How will I explain this to my children?"'" He admitted it! He admitted calling J. Edgar Hoover for dirt on somebody in Goldwater's campaign. "'Silberman's account of our conversation is at odds with mine,' Moyers told [Novak] when I asked for comment."

I don't care if NPR and PBS continue to broadcast. I just don't want it to be on the taxpayer dole.

Let them compete with the rest of the broadcast and cable networks. Maybe Moyers and Soros will pony up some of their personal funds as an investment.

OT - Been on vacation for a couple of weeks. AP, Bryan, Michelle, or whoever is responsible, thanks for the preview button.

I may send VOIDed checks monthly to my local PBS station explaining that I started to make a donation, but then this partisan hack intruded on my serene evening of TV watching …

Bill "Daisy ad" Moyers is a partisan hack.

I thought for 35 minutes before writing the only thing that would not get me banned.
