The burden of proof is yours.

Nugent: "Didn't happen"

Anybody with a brain: "obvious BS"

Bradky: "duh ... what about me?"

Pretty clear what your problem is at this point.

Wait... you just know and truth is what you deem true... got it never mind.

Bottom line is, you spread a bullsh*t rumor that you couldn’t back up and got called on it. If you don’t want that situation to occur, don’t spread rumors that you find on the internet.

You were provided a couple of different sources. You choose very selectively what it is you will believe.

As I said if it is true he is a coward, plain and simple, no matter what he did after that. And his other quoted comments show him to be a very vile individual.

To compare that to mlitary service is a slap in the face of the millions who have worn the uniform.

You'd have a good point, if i had actually done that. Problem is, i didn't. My comment -

  Not a coward? Ayuh.

Bradky on August 25, 2007 at 2:30 AM

I think most people would look at Nugent going to Afghanistan and conclude that no, he isn’t a coward.

No comparison to military service.

Ted Nugent has always done this type of thing. Ted has has done and said this sort of thing for decades! What's new here is that it's being picked up by Drudge and talk radio. He
s not the spokesmen for conservatives. He's just Ted Freaking Nugent. He's said the same types of things for longer than may of us pretend to be conservatives.

MB4. Dude you sure have some latent jealousy issues with Ted. Just because Ted has been so widely appreciated and admired by millions of fans, parents, police, wildlife enthusiasts, soldiers, border patrol agents, presidents, Indian tribes, etc is no reason to be so hard on yourself. Being a cook in the Army during the Vietnam war is not that bad. If you had just applied yourself instead of living your life as inadequately as possible then maybe people would have looked up to you as well. Instead you pour out jealous hatred toward a remarkable icon who has never talked badly of you and is admired and respected by thousands of Vietnam Vets. What a sad little man you are.

MB4 on August 24, 2007 at 4:21 PM: Very well said, but I am afraid that it will take at least 10,000 like you to undo the damage done by for one Ted Nugent.

Fortunately, there are far more of us than that.

PierreLegrand on August 24, 2007 at 4:32 PM: So I am guessing that you believe apologizing for your rights will win the day? You believe that your rights will be won by reasonable discussion?

Apologize, hell. Our rights will be won by steady forward advancement, determined opposition, and exploitation of the other side's weaknesses, particularly their ubiquitous dishonesty. But it also requires people to think well of us, because that's how we make new shooters. We don't need to make determined Second Amendment activists; we don't need to make conservatives; all we need to do is make enough liberal citizens who own guns. That constituency will limit the options of gun-swiping politicians, no matter who wins or loses any given election. That gives us a defensive bulwark from which to advance.

Maxx on August 24, 2007 at 4:47 PM: You make a good point Well-Armed Lamb. But for all of those who would use this video in an attempt to smear gun owners, I would simply ask them who exactly it was that Ted Nugent shot.

Eh, I somehow don't think that “Hey, he didn't shoot anybody will win anybody over.” If I'd done what Nugent did, the cops sure wouldn't listen to that excuse from me.

Guardian on August 24, 2007 at 4:59 PM: ...he’s a loud and proud conservative and there ain’t nothing wrong with that.

If Nugent had just been loud and proud, that wouldn't be a problem. However, implied threats go so far beyond the pale that the pale isn't even freaking visible from the stage he's standing on.

Bottom line: Nugent just made my job, as a second amendment activist, harder. Thanks, Ted!

I guess since you are not of Asian heritage, black, foreign, and not repulsed by draft dodgers you are just A-OK with Ted.

If the high moral ground crowd can’t hold the majority because they’re so easy to spook, then they’re just going to have to put up with us cuz we’re not standing by while they let the country get cheated away.

Want us to “play nice”? Then don’t act like losers and don’t lose.

Ding ding ding...these are the same folks who will be looking to compromise with the left. Never understanding that the left never compromises its principles. It merely takes the rights compromise, consolidates its positions, then asks for more unreasonable items. The radicals define the position of both sides...the only problem is on the right we are filled with cowards who disown our radicals on the left they embrace them while talking moderately. Witness Clinton the she devil from hell...she is no moderate.

Extremism in the defence of liberty is no vice. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

Who cares what the loser ninnies think about Nugent.

The guy is an actual rock star and taking his stage antics seriously makes about as much sense an overanalyzing Gene Simmons face paint.

Compared to the urban gansta culture Nugent is a boyscout. Literally.

Where the H&%$ was our ~*#@ing content warning on this?? Geez.

Ted lost me when he blurted off-color racial nicknames for Asians on a Denver classic rock morning show a few years ago. The hosts, normally not masters of decorum themselves, ended the interview and distanced themselves from his (then-)upcoming gig.

Defend them from what? Being called bad names? That happens to millions of people every day and is pretty weak compared to the rumor that that so many are spreading on the net without actually backing up what they say.

Bad names? Did you even listen to the audio of his hellacious demented ranting and raving? Millions of people a day get that? On what planet? Not Earth. It sounded like he was threatening their lives and should be commited to a mental institution, unless he is just a TOTAL BLOWHARD.

I think most people would look at Nugent going to Afghanistan and conclude that no, he isn’t a coward.

Not anyone that I can think of with whom I served in the Army in RVN with would conclude anything like that. He went on a "dog and pony show", BIG FRACKEN SELF PROMOTING PHONY DEAL.

“… First thing I slayed…I was nine years old. It was a squirrel,
Ted Nugent

I think that is pretty much the way Jeffrey Dahmer got started.

The first thing i hunted was squirrels, same goes for a lot of my friends. Last i checked, we’ve never eaten any people.

You conveniently left a VERY important part out. Why is that I ask rhetorically.

“… First thing I slayed…I was nine years old. It was a squirrel, these ladies were feeding it, you know, and I said, ‘excuse me, bam.’ No it wasn’t a pet squirrel. I had it stuffed and petted it for years after that.” - WRIF-FM, Detroit, Ted Nugent as guest D.J., September 26, 1991

Did you do that part? God I hope not!

Did you bother to find out about the summer camp he holds every year for kids? Or that he plants hundreds of trees a year and has probably done more hands on conservationist work than most liberal enviromentalists? You might want to look into that before you pass judgement.

So what does that give him? Some kind of "credits"? Like Al Gore who guzzles like a pig, but has "carbon credits". Or some rapist can get "rape credits" if he makes a donation to a rape crisis center? What parent in their right mind would let their kids go on a summer camp with him anyway?

If he dodged the draft I could care nothing he has done since then will change that or the fact that he was a coward.

PR trips to the mideast are the fad now days. And the celebrities are given extremely good security details, courtesy of our tax dollars. To compare that to mlitary service is a slap in the face of the millions who have worn the uniform.

The things he is quoted as saying about Japanese, South Africans, women and others paint a picture of a very prejudiced individual.

Did you bother to find out about the summer camp he holds every year for kids? Or that he plants hundreds of trees a year and has probably done more hands on conservationist work than most liberal enviromentalists? You might want to look into that before you pass judgement.

Defend them from what? Being called bad names? That happens to millions of people every day and is pretty weak compared to the rumor that that so many are spreading on the net without actually backing up what they say.

Not a coward? Ayuh.

I think most people would look at Nugent going to Afghanistan and conclude that no, he isn’t a coward.

“… First thing I slayed…I was nine years old. It was a squirrel,
Ted Nugent

I think that is pretty much the way Jeffrey Dahmer got started.

I doubt many really wanted to go but they overcame their fears, as you did, and served.

Hardly anyone wanted to go to RVN in 1971/1972. Pretty much all enthusiasm for the war was gone by then. I didn't. Mostly though because I didn't want to leave a certain gal that I had just meet a few weeks ago. I actually flunked a drug test that they started to give guys then before going over. The drug test was in error as the only "drug" that I had ever taken was beer. I could have said, "darn you caught me", but I said that those who did the test must be incompetent, and by some implication him, and demanded to see the base commander and the major who was in charge said "Well OK, you pass". Don't think though that I didn't have some second thoughts, but not many as it would have been too dishonorable.
