Video: Coulter goofs on Silky, calls him a “she”
posted at 10:33 pm on August 23, 2007 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | regular view
To be precise, she says she might call him a “she” in response to his own recent bon mot. Then she spends the rest of the segment basically embarrassing Colmes, or rather calling attention to how he’s embarrassing himself.
Traffic is down and I’m desperate for red meat. This is what happens.

Ann = Bill Parcells?

Ouch.
News really has been slow as hell.
Bad Candy on August 23, 2007 at 10:45 PM
Man I really dig Ann. Yeah, she can (and does) go way over the top from time to time but she usually manages to say what everybody wishes they could say themselves but won’t.

When is Ann Coulter going to have some kids?
She can’t let guys like Edwards get the bio-edge.

I think of a lot of things when I hear “ann coulter” (all of them positive) but “meat” certainly isn’t one of them.
mattshu on August 23, 2007 at 10:51 PM
When you get paid to do this, even the small dips are big dips.
Allahpundit on August 23, 2007 at 10:52 PM
Wow, Ann’s humor somehow managed to remove the stick that was up Murphy’s butt at the beginning. I’m pretty sure I didn’t look that uncomfortable the last prostate exam I had… and I do not find them pleasant.
Her last line was the best, because every good joke has an element of truth to it.

Ann Coulter has wit and a quick tongue, but she’s clearly in the game for herself. And embarrasingly vain and self-promoting. She really does nothing to dignify public discourse. And I just plain ol’ don’t like her.

Ann makes a ton of money off the “base” and conservative die hards. She does absolutely nothing to persuade moderate democrats to reconsider their choices. If anything, she drives them away with her antics. Her only loyalty is to herself.
Bradky on August 24, 2007 at 12:32 AM
I’d like to see Ann hook up with Mark Simone. I love to hear them banter when she in on his show and they would make beautiful babies. Just sayin’.

Hah ha ha !!
Ann cracked me up in those clips.
Alan…what can I say, Hannity needs a new side kick. Alan has gone off the Leftist edge. I mean…trying to pin Ann Coulter down for “hate speech” by cherry picking her words out of context?
First of all “hate speech” is about as dumb as Dr. Evil’s “Laser”. Hence the quotes.
Alan has no grey matter.
But man, Ann had me laughing in my pajamas as I read this here right wing blog while checking on my Halliburton stock and cleaning my guns.

Allan may be a nice guy, but he is the weak horse, and people will follow the strong horse (Hannity).
Ann was great tonight, as usual.
Who else thinks Edwards is in the race only because people keep saying that Hclinton can’t win? No longer a Senator, has made his gazillions as a trial lawyer, so he doesn’t need to work-why run for President? Does he really believe he has a shot if HClinton and Obama cancel each other out?
The suit may cost 2,000.00, but it’s still empty.
Picking fights with Ann Coulter doesn’t make him look Presidential-I don’t see President Bush trading comments with Bill Maher or Jon Stewart. It makes Edwards look like a wanna be who never will.

Speakup on August 24, 2007 at 1:20 AM
Ann is blunt, direct, and honest. Doesn’t bother me, in fact it’s endearing. She shares my point of view, and many of my beliefs. I prefer the truth, even if it’s blunt, over lies that sound nice.
Trying to win the hearts and minds of liberals is a waste of time. KP sometimes seems to have common sense, and some people would like to see her switch sides, yet when she makes her beliefs known she is repugnant, even if she is eye candy.

The Freshman poli sci major speaks. Everyone hang your head and witness the product of an American public education. We really do need to fix the education system.
Sigh
Bradky on August 24, 2007 at 2:39 AM
And Ann is happy that the Dems maintain a majority because that makes the base so darn angry and ready to buy more books that insult. You should have no complaints if the Republicans manage to maintain minority status in both houses and Hillary wins. You can be angry for another two to four years.
Someday there will be another William Buckley who knows how to write and persuade without being a jerk. In the meantime we get Springer type entertainment in our politcs.

So now you’re just stealing my lines, because I consistently accuse libs of being college freshman all pumped up after political science class?
If anyone is to be accused of being a Freshman political science major, it would be a lefty moron who spends their entire life trying find indefensible things to defend. Go ahead, poll some freshman political science majors and see which side of the aisle they’re on, guy… they’re on yours. Who can count the douches they’ve known who didn’t care about politics, then followed the crowd in to political science class their freshman year, and suddenly they were Sean Penn for a semester (and often longer). Freshman political science is about brainwashing the next generation of libs fella, you couldn’t be more off.
RightWinged on August 24, 2007 at 4:11 AM
I don’t know why I’m bothering here, but your douchetry is beyond belief… Are you listening to yourself? Coulter is a satirist who makes comments that aren’t half as bad as the leading satirists on the left. I’m no big fan and couldn’t care less, but for you to act like it’s Coulter who hurts political discourse in this country, once again shows what a dishonest turd you are… again, I know you have to be as per your agreement when you signed up to be a lib (oh yeah, tell me that I don’t know if you’re a lib again, that was classic).
I’m just curious if you’re aware of what the HEAD OF THE DN-F***ING-C said about Republicans… Do you remember? I know, it may be tough because he’s made a steady stream of hateful comments over the years.
Well, here it is… Your party (ooops, I don’t know if you’re a Democrat, you’re right) chairman said:
Not a speaker/author… DNC CHAIRMAN. How about a steady stream of top elected Democratic leadership calling a president a liar while a war is being fought… over comments that were identical to ones they made for 13 F-ING YEARS leading up to the war. Yeah, Ann Coulter joking about Edwards being the Mary he is really compares to that.
And by the way, which speakers are repeatedly physically assaulted when given talks? That’s right, conservatives including Coulter, by liberals.
RightWinged on August 24, 2007 at 4:19 AM

Coulter is the liberal’s worst nightmare, and Colmes is an embarrasment to his profession.
pocomoco on August 24, 2007 at 7:10 AM
Oh, come on, Bradky. Buckley and Coulter? They’re two completely different types of players with different goals and methods. There is no comparison, and no need for comparison.
And they agree on virtually every issue you can bring up in public policy over the last 20 years.
As for Ann benefiting from the Dem majority, I actually think she was doing just fine before the 2006 election, don’t you?
Jaibones on August 24, 2007 at 7:15 AM
The point that they do agree is what makes the contrast so stark. Buckley is in a class all by himself. Ann is more of a huckster.
When they pulled her column from the local paper (for the Edwards comment) I protested loudly to the owners. They wouldn’t back down and only after they dropped Bill Press to “restore balance” in the op ed pages to throw a bone to me and several others who made a big deal of it.
Politics has become a big money sport for many now days. Between blogs, books, and cable news there are a wide variety of personalities cashing in.
I question the sincerity of all of them. You may argue passionately for one positon or another, but you do so out of conviction. The new breed of poli-pundits is looking very closely at the bottom line first. Nothing wrong with capitalism at all, but I believe we should be honest about the whole picture.
Ann certainly wasn’t hurting before the 06 election I agree.
Bradky on August 24, 2007 at 7:27 AM
Don’t worry. Everyone else is on vacation right about now.
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on August 24, 2007 at 7:46 AM
Randy,
Don’t bother, you know what they say about wrestling with the pigs. It’s his mud, and he likes it there.
The really fun part about Coulter is, she tells the truth. She wraps it in stinging prose, spices it with hyperbole to tweak liberal noses, but it remains the truth, and THAT’s what they hate. If this weren’t true, they’d hate Bill Maher or Jon Stewart just as much, because each of those “entertainers” uses far more hyperbole and near-profane metaphors than Ann.
Contrary to Bradky’s wishful thinking (when speaking of a liberal that’s virtually redundant, but oh well) or AP’s lamentations, Ann’s harsh-but-accurate rhetoric does no harm to the right. She makes sense, she slices right through the talking points to the real meat of an issue, and exposes the lies, hypocrisy, and evil of the socialist agenda.
Works for me.

The movie…..”The 40 Year Old Virgin” would be a good title for a Colmes biography. I don’t whether it is because he is so shallow or just plain naive, but he is a good example of liberalism.
volsense on August 24, 2007 at 8:44 AM
Ann Coulter is what Ingrid Newkirk once called herself: A “press slut”. Nearly every time she says something that stirs things up, she is fully expecting the huge amount of publicity she’s going to get, and is banking on outrage instead of actual substance, regardless of whether she makes a good point or not. She has nothing on the Boss, Laura Ingraham, MKH, or other more self-respecting female pundits.
THAT BEING SAID…once in a great while, I get a glimmer of respect for Colmes. Sometimes he argues the correct point of view. Moments like these, however, annihilate those moments of clarity. He is nothing but a clueless, wincing, pandering toolbag of a liberal who exhibits the most hateful characteristic: Knowing full well what someone means, and trying to twist it anyway. The average liberal is the grown up kid who says something completely insulting and then says “I don’t know what you’re talking about”. He is a two-faced hypocritical little sap, and Ann could whup his backside in a 30 second match.
*whew*
MadisonConservative on August 24, 2007 at 8:49 AM
On H &C, I suggest that FNC replace Alan Colmes with Geraldo Rivera.
Sure, Geraldo’s an emo. Though I disagree with him almost always, at least he’s responsive to the issues at hand, and speaks with compassion and some measure of intellectual honesty to the questions before him. Colmes parrots the party talking points, seemingly oblivious to the discussion around him.
Geraldo argues the substance of issues. Colmes ducks issues by alleging moral equivalences and speculating on people’s motives.
Geraldo addresses the substantive equities underlying the issues. Colmes hides from issues and underlying equities by making ad hominem attacks against his opponents.
Geraldo, if not persuasive, is informative. Colmes, if not obnoxious, is boring.
Hey, if not Geraldo, then maybe Kristen Powers? Or Bob Beckel? Or Greta. Or Chis Hitchens? Or almost anyone who can respond in an intellectually honest and substantive way to the issues at hand.
petefrt on August 24, 2007 at 9:08 AM
Ah… calling attention to how Colmes is embarrassing himself is worth every bit of bandwith.
Lawrence on August 24, 2007 at 9:22 AM
In a better world, there wouldn’t be a culture war. In a better world we could lead by example and wouldn’t need all kinds of soldiers to preserve America as we know it. But until that day comes, I want Ann leading our artillery.
petefrt on August 24, 2007 at 9:23 AM
Come now, must we always have this conversation? Ann is very nearly always right, and if you don’t start with that as a given, then the commentary in meaningless. You may not like the way she says things — obviously you do not — but her political judgement is exquisite.
And I imagine that her “self-respect” is perfectly healthy, too.
Colmes is a douche.

Back in April 2002, Colmes carried water for Hamas. In July 2006 he carried water for Hezbollah. My favorite moment though was when Netanyahu was on and Colmes said “The other day there was 2,000 people demonstrating in Tel Aviv against the war and Netanyahu responded “Really, I must not have been mailed an invitation, did they hold the demonstration in a phone booth?”
Hilts on August 24, 2007 at 11:02 AM
Kirsten Powers (who is gorgeous to look at by the way) is too much of a Henry Jackson/DLC type of Democrat to replace Colmes. Hitchens is hated by Hannity and they had a big fight over Hitchens’s remarks about the death of Jerry Falwell. In many ways Colmes is the perfect girlie man liberal.

True, I have trouble not feeding the trolls though…
Don’t act like you “don’t have time” to read my rants, guy. You spend an awful lot of time trolling this site, making completely useless comments (again, read your first comment in this thread… it couldn’t have been more pointless).
No, you won’t respond because you’re a f-ing mental midget. I revealed your selective outrage and left you with nothing to say… and as evidence for this I can also site the fact that you went on to respond to someone else. Dude, how many times have I exposed you for being a liar and a hypocrite? Do you ever get tired of looking so pathetic? You’re like John Edwards who seems to be going for a record of criticizing behavior he himself takes part in, when you consistently come here with lies, hypocrisy, and incorrect assumptions.
Bottom line: Your party leaders and elected officials say FAR WORSE things than speaker/author Ann Coulter… and they’re in positions of power, they aren’t simply people trying to sell books!!! But if you wanted, we could go tit for tat with authors too. The fact that you would come here and write the most pointless post ever to whine about Coulter, speaks volumes (once again) about what a dishonest turd you truly are.
RightWinged on August 24, 2007 at 4:21 PM

Really Randy I don’t read your posts. I have tutored enough college students already and don’t need a charity project.
Bradky on August 24, 2007 at 6:06 PM
I guess you missed where I said
So although I don’t care for her style I still will stand up for one’s right to be heard. Not sure how making an observation/opinion that she may be hurting the GOP more than she is helping is “clucking my tongue at you” but okay that’s your perception.
If you recall even Michelle Malkin was critical about her conduct at CPAC.
Bradky on August 24, 2007 at 6:15 PM
Again, stop being such a pathetic douche that you steal my lines, we already went over this:
I’M NOT A COLLEGE KID, AND YOU F-ING KNOW IT! If anyone comes off like a college kid, it’s the douche who trolls to defend anything he can find that is indefensible, as all libs are ordered to do. (Yeah, you.)
But again, keep on “not reading” my posts… because in reality you’re just such a f-ing weakling that you can’t respond… if you really weren’t reading, and taking some higher road, you’d simply ignore me all together… the fact that you keep responding makes it all the more clear that I’ve simply destroyed you once again and left you with no argument. Wait, I thought you had no “time”… For someone without the time you sure seem to come back to this thread a lot and respond to me, claiming to have not read my comment.
Again:
Quick, steal my line I use to deride idiot libs by accusing me of being a college kid (again, ignoring the obvious idiocy of such a remark, considering that most college kids, particularly outspoken ones are libs).
And btw, who let you tutor anyone? You don’t even understand elementary school math, and even when it’s proven you completely ignore that fact and carry on like nothing happened… Need a reminder?

Randy. Really you are wasting your time. I’m not reading them. If you don’t stop I will begin to believe you have a thing for me. I don’t swing that way just to state it up front.
