PRCalDude, whatever happens in Calif. is on it's way to small town America. I loved SoCal. Loved living there, although I'd been raised in the Bay Area...it was alive, vibrant, and if you couldn't make it there you were hopeless. Within 5 years though I started to notice gang graffiti, and it wasn't the Crips or Bloods. They'd basically left everyone alone unless you threatened their territory. Shortly after, most of the clerks in grocery stores and even dept. stores were only hiring those that spoke Spanish. Overtime, any young people (both black and white) that had been hired to bag or help you to your car with groceries were replaced. I always left for work around 5AM and one morning I noticed a garage down the alley from my back entry with 25-30 people emerging and getting into vans. It had never dawned on me it could be a safe house for illegals. I moved shortly after back to NorCal but it too had changed. I don't think anyone, anywhere, will ever be able to dislodge the element that has overun and turned one of the most beautiful places on the planet into a ghetto.

Along the lines of what ScottyDog said, the 'no-go zones' for whites have gotten increasingly larger in southern California. It used to be that a small section of the San Fernando Valley was bad. Now almost all of it is except the perimeter, and even that is starting to go bad, with small pockets of good neighborhoods. Forget about sending your kids to the public schools. The same is true for the rest of Los Angeles, except for a small section along the coast. Given the fact that they have more babies than we do, the rest of the country could be a microcosm for the rest of the country if the illegals here now are not deported. The gangs that seem to spring up in every Mexican community are a scourge. Perhaps, if you're a young 'pale-face,' its time to start weighing your future in this country.

Yesterday, I sat next to an airline pilot from southern California who was born and raised here. He was appalled by how bad its gotten, how expensive it is to raise kids here, and how he has to pay for his own demographic displacement through taxes.

We sit here and talk about enforcing the borders, but demographically, the horse is already out of the barn. It's really too late. Perhaps the US will become ethnically partitioned, as Peter Brimelow says. But I think many in the middle class will start looking at emigration, just as many of the native Britons are doing.

The Mexican govn't breeds humans for export just like they do fruits and vegetables for export to the U.S. in the winter. Somehow, the U.S. is expected to take their problems, make some sense of them, and prop up their economy. They should hang their heads in shame, yet they've succeeded in convincing our elected critters this is somehow our fault and we must accept their discards.

Numenorean - I've not been to Mexico for several years, refuse to buy anything labeled "made in Mexico" including Hershey's chocolate. Taking it further, I don't plan on vacationing in any U.S. city that has declared itself a sanctuary city either.

Oh, the glorious irony -- all that passion and purpose, directed at breaking our laws instead of fixing their own broken system. What is it they say about those who live in glass houses??

Furthermore, I would like to humbly request that our esteemed Congress deny further financial aid of any kind to the sovereign nation of Mexico without the express consent of their American constituents. As a legal citizen and registered voter, I would prefer that our money go to paying off the national debt, promoting rational thought through education, and national security. (Unless they wish to make the reconquistas claim true by annexing Mexico against their will -- since we are taking care of them all already I doubt it will make much difference.)

I would also like to propose that instead of a fence that we grab our shovels and extend the Rio Grande from the Gulf to the Pacific. We could make piranhas and passing sharks honorary border patrol agents. If we make it wide enough, we could actually make a profit off of it as a shipping channel. It would pay for itself…

Think twice before you plan your next vacation to Cancun/Cozumel or any cruise ship that takes you to Mexico, folks. Let’s spend our money on non-whiny countries.

Maybe Al Gore can figure out how to move it further away from the USA? He's a genius ya' know.

Easy, guys! War on Mexico? Whoa...

All it would take to bring that pathetic sh*thole to a grinding halt would be to stop private financial transfers from being wired there. How much fun would that be?

Then we would see some action in the sombrero senate.

Hey, but there's Good News: even if we made Mexico the 51st state, New Orleans and Chicago would remain the 1st and 2nd most corrupt cities in America. All of Mexico would tie for 3rd...

Frantic Freddie, yet whenever illegals are arrested or detained by either local police or ICE....the first thing they call for is the Mexican Embassy. Again, the abused child like bahavior, abused battered wife syndrome. If the Mexican govn't really cared about it's citizens they'd do the housekeeping necessary to keep them home, not allow them wandering the world like the homeless they are. They are not refugees, yet they feel they must leave their home, creating another home just like the one they had to flee. The guilt is firstly on Mexico, and secondly, our own corporate greed. We may have to learn to live without some of the luxuries we've deemed to be so acceptable.

“We cannot remain quiet in view of this injustice and must ask for firm action from our authorities,” Mexican Sen. Humberto Zazue said.

Oh, yeah, Senior Senator?

Why is it an injustice when America enforces her laws, especially border security and immigration laws? Perhaps we should do what you guys do on Mexican's southern border...shoot those who cross the border because they do not look like Americans just like you guys shoot Guatamalans and anyone else who does not look like Mexicans.

I think the real crime is that the Mexican govt appears to do nothing to improve conditions in Mexico fo that their citizens want to stay in Mexico.

We don't need American young men and women to be finding work. Matter of fact, we are going to make it all but impossible and unexceptable. We need these lower classes in the military protecting our castle's, what is more important than that. Bring Elvira home now..!!! signed: Friends in high places. (sometimes you have to think like the enemy to beat them)

I wonder if they would protest if we made Mexico our 51st state in order to control our border:)I know it would never happen but it would be funny if a diplomat said that to the Mexican government.

I know you are only joking... :-)

But if Mexico, a Third World country with an entrenched oligopoly of corruption and theft and socialism, ever became the 51st state, then that would logically mean it would produce 2 more liberal Democrat Senators.

And the Senate confirms judicial appointments to the Supreme Court.

The battle we face in regards to illegal immigration is a fight between abstraction and reality. The pro-illegal side remain in the abstract and flat out deny --not refute-- facts that disprove their world view. The anti-illegal side sees and acknowledges the ideas behind the pro-amnesty side and uses facts to disprove it.

When an anti-amnesty person brings up a fact, the pro-amnesty start talking about abstractions like "civil rights", and include abstract phrases like "Doing the jobs Americans won't do" or "No human being is illegal." When a rebuttal point is brought up by anti-amnesty people, the pro changes the subject and immediately begins an emotional attack, usually at their opponent.

The same thing happened in the Senate with the Shamnesty bill. The proponents of the bill all talked about ideas, while were easily refutable, they, Grahamnesty, Lott, Feinstein, McCain, et al, refused to respond to any refuation. End result? Complete defeat for the immigration bill.

All of these pro-illegal types will remain in the abstract and thus, will ultimately lose out in the end. So when up against these types, remember to stay in the real, with facts and don't let them distract you with abstractions!

Hey Mexican Senate, no problemo! Go ahead and send her back across the border, the exact same way she got over the last two times. We have a really nice jail cell, and fifteen years or so to spend in it, just waiting for her.

We are witnessing the most blatant racism I've ever witnessed. Clearly, the Mexican government does not want these people, nor do they feel compelled to take care of their own. They foist them off on other countries yet somehow have convinced them their loyalty should remain with Mexico. If my own government refused to educate me, helped create an atmosphere where employment was possible, I'd leave and never look back. Yet, we have 20 million (?) they've shucked off for the world to feed, educate, find employment, house, and care for their medical needs. There might not be such a huge problem if they would also encourage birth control, as all civilized countries have. The illegal's loyalty to Mexico is very much like abused children. No matter how much you abuse them, they'll never admit it nor demand you stop the abuse.

Is it because Mexico gets more of an economic boost from those who illegally work in the U.S. sending their proceeds back to relatives in Mexico?

Yeah, pretty much.

crazy_legs on August 23, 2007 at 5:02 PM

It is Economics 101. Mexico receives tens of billions of dollars in revenue from illegal aliens living in the USA with no expenses.

When a Mexican illegal alien goes to the Emergency Room for out-patient health care, the hospital billing department does not generate a bill to Mexico City.

The economic reality is that illegal immigration is a lucrative windfall for the Mexican government: tens and tens of Billions of incoming revenue, and not a single expense.
