Heart-ache: Bush calls North American Union suspicions “comical”; Update: Fox News all-stars debate NAU!

The passion for this theory must be fading as fast as Trutherism because we’ve only gotten two or three angry “WHY AREN’T YOU COVERING THIS?” e-mails since the summit began. I can’t say much, but let me answer that question this way:

That new headlines page didn’t just pay for itself.

Gotta grit my teeth and reluctantly tip my cap to Media Matters for making this catch, too. After the clip, head over to Johnny Dollar’s site and listen to Tancredo and a few callers react to his brawl last night with Geraldo. J$’s exact words in pitching it to me: “Plus there’s an oblique slam at KP!” You know what I like, you magnificent bastard.

Update: It’s been a slow news week.

Brilliant debunking rightwinged. Brilliant.

Still taking comments out of context.
Still waiting on your first actual fact related to the topic.

Like I said. All you’ve got is ridicule, which says it all.

So this is where I’m supposed to prove a negative, right?

Do you have any problems debunking the 9/11 truthers? Not so hard, is it?

Why is it impossible for you to give a legitimate argument on ANY point related to this topic?

Gregor on August 24, 2007 at 4:54 PM

K Gregor, we’ll start here:
http://www.signs-of-the-times.org/articles/show/134570-Debunking+the+North+American+Union+Conspiracy+Theory

The difference between the Truthers and you guys is that the Truthers just totally make things up and they “Michael Moore” video and audio clips to make people say things they didn’t.

You guys appeal to people because there are issues with our borders and foreign workers, etc. So there is a genuine concern, over what we SEE happening.. the problem is, you guys make up stupid theories about a massive new highway, etc. and act as if some underground shadow government could really pull of this great conspiracy under our noses. It’s just silly. Again, there are legitimate concerns about what we’ve SEEN and still SEE happening, but it’s not even close to NAU and doesn’t involve these stupid conspiracy theories.

Joshua Holland’s debunking piece us even worse than Hawkins attempt at calling the NAU a conspiracy. There are over 390 comments on his piece tearing his ridiculous assertions to pieces.Below is one example:

Bush’s push for basically open borders is one strong argument for such a union.. so why would you suggest that immigration is unrelated to NAU?

Holland response
Not sure where anyone woild get the idea Bush wants “open borders” — I think that’s just silly — but for the sake of argument, let’s say he does.

The reason the two are unrelated is this: one (changes in immigration law) is a real package of legislation that is really moving through a legislature and the other )NAU) is a proposal made by a think tank that is not being considered by Congress.

Like Hawkins and Medved, he thinks Bush is tough on the borders and fails to realize GWB has signed the SPP with Mexico and Canada. Doing an end run around Congress, he is using agreements instead of treaties to push this through behind closed doors. This is an important point because Treaties have to be considered by the Senate.

The NAU/SPP has never been submitted to the Senate or Congress for debate. Just before the Last cloture vote on Amnesty, the Bush administration tried to add the SPP language to the bill but it never made it to the floor for debate.

The NAFTASuperhighway has been underway despite your denials. The following links prove it is being built so just saying it is not happening does not make it so.

Ron Paul-The NAFTA Superhighway
Texas DOT- Trans-Texas Corridor
Kansas City SmartPort

Environmental Impact Statement-NAFTA Superhighway

SuperCorridor & NAFTA Highway Defined

I do not know why you continue to be in denial about this as it is happening right before you eyes in the open even though yours seem to be closed shut.

Normally you make some pretty good arguments here at HotAir but on this issue you do not have any factual arguments to refute what is happening.

Again, ScottyDog, it’s a waste to argue with you guys when your entire conspiracy theory is based entirely on the assumption that there’s a conspiracy. You can’t just see bad policies and weak politicians for what they are, you have to believe that there’s an evil shadow government at work. There isn’t evidence for this… You’re taking what we can see with our own eyes and doing what Truthers do when they “just ask questions”.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a meeting with Dubya at Bohemian Grove… tonight we worship the giant owl again… after mock human sacrifice of course! And tell Alex Jones to keep his cameras away this time!!!!

Go ahead and stick your head in the sand and while you are at the Bohemian Grove have some GWB Kool Aid.

It is not a conspiracy theory BTW, that idea went out when Bush signed the SPP Agreement in Texas.
