Video: KGW blows the lid off the “I like turtles” kid

Might as well unload all the crap items right out of the gate this morning. You saw the heart-stopping Factor interview, now see the truth exposed. Don’t tell me this isn’t news, either: the guy who tipped us to it is Laura Ingraham’s producer, A.J., which makes it news by definition, baby.

Besides, there’s a bombshell buried in here: he likes geckos, too.

Slow news day, Allah?

amerpundit on August 22, 2007 at 9:27 AM

Slow? I think we’ve shifted into reverse. :-)

Kowboy on August 22, 2007 at 9:28 AM

I had thought the kid was a Juggalo in the making, what with the ‘toitles’ pronunciation and the goofball make up.

Kid turns out to be fairly normal.

Mindcrime on August 22, 2007 at 9:31 AM

BRILLIANT! i have been waiting for the truth to come out!

this shows how our civilization is the best, muslims hate turtles!

Thank God cancer’s been cured so we can now focus on these pressing issues!

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on August 22, 2007 at 9:35 AM

The Onion is Real Life, Six Months in the Future ™.

Doesn’t that kid look like a young Jon Voight? Shows you what makeup can do. If he’s not careful he’ll end up washed out and burned up, just like Corey Feldman, or that kid from Terminator 2. Or Ringo Starr.

I’m curing cancer right at this very moment, so it’s all good. Allahpundit’s Cancer Curing Credits are offset by my contributions.

Mindcrime on August 22, 2007 at 9:36 AM

THAT is a cute kid and I think VERY normal.

mimi1220 on August 22, 2007 at 9:38 AM

Normalcy behind the bizzare. Saw two Goth teenagers, the other day, helping an elderly woman into the grocery store. Go figure.

captivated_dem on August 22, 2007 at 9:38 AM

The Karl Roves of the world have built a generation that just wants a couple slogans: ‘I like turtles, I like turtles,’” Pat Schroeder, president of the American Association of Publishers, said in a recent interview.

saint kansas on August 22, 2007 at 9:39 AM

Hot sisters. I command more video of them, Allah. Make up for the Rosie ones yesterday.

MadisonConservative on August 22, 2007 at 9:41 AM

So when did the Bush administration know that he really likes geckos and why didn’t they disclose it to the press. Thank Marx that this entrepid reporter tracked the conspirator down at his “safe house” and pried the twoof out of him. I demand congress launch a full investigation into “Geckogate”.

ronsfi on August 22, 2007 at 9:42 AM

No news doesn’t mean slow news, at least around here.

Besides, it’s early.

So, do you think the kid reads or speaks arabic?

Kowboy on August 22, 2007 at 9:53 AM

Look at the turtle kid in the pic…then go back to the main page and look at the pic of Bill Maher…and tell me they aren’t twins!

Montana on August 22, 2007 at 10:09 AM

I grew up about 20 miles south of Milwaukee. Nice to see beautiful Oregon again! I’m pretty sure we beat them in little league baseball when I was in the “Traveling Midgets” League!

I’m just hoping that Johnathon is getting a cut of all the $$$ from the merchandising, etc. Seriously, who doesn’t like turtles, or geckos for that matter.

Is this news??? Well, YEAH! It’s the inside story other blogs are afraid to tell you. Just another reason to love HA! AP, Way to get to the TRUTH!

Bad Candy on August 22, 2007 at 10:25 AM

Hmmmpf! I have to be honest I’m getting really bored with YouTube’s insipid garbage. Yes, once in a great while relevant video is on there, but for the most part… crap. Read a book!

MNDavenotPC on August 22, 2007 at 10:33 AM

He’s famouser even than Captain Kangaroo.

By the way, you can now get that as a ring tone thanks to KITS, Live 105 in San Francisco, visit http://www.live105.com

P.P.S. The …s were to be clicked, but It’s kinda hard to see.

MirCat on August 22, 2007 at 11:11 AM

I’m kind of surprised to learn that the kid seems relatively normal… I was convinced, based on the video that made him famous, that he was at least somewhat retarded (really).

Well, they found penecillin on mouldy bread. I’m pretty sure that thing in the back of my refrigerator has the cure for AIDS.

Mazztek on August 22, 2007 at 11:48 AM

Haha, I like the kid’s explanation for why he said “I like turtles.” He is my hero.

Stankleberry on August 22, 2007 at 12:10 PM

Normalcy behind the bizzare. Saw two Goth teenagers, the other day, helping an elderly woman into the grocery store. Go figure.

captivated_dem on August 22, 2007 at 9:38 AM

You know, “goth” is not synonymous with “evil”. It just denotes an affinity for darker things. Two goths helping an old lady into a store isn’t as unusual as you’d think.

Sorry, just tired of folks with darker sensibilities being looked at as bad. Bigots! :)JK.
(Yes, I’m a closet goth. AND a Christian, AND an utterly diplomatic Southern Lady.)

As to Turtle Boy…not surprised he’s normal. I’ve seen tons of little boys say stupid things when asked questions on camera. Big deal. He’s famous for saying something stupid on camera? Crazy freakin’ world.

There was always a little part of me that felt bad for laughing every time I watched that because I thought he might be autistic or something.

Now I laugh guilt-free.

Well, I freakin’ HATE turtles. So there, kid.

robblefarian on August 22, 2007 at 4:36 PM

I can’t believe they actually tracked this kid down and did a piece on him. God Bless America.

Baphomet on August 22, 2007 at 8:19 PM

Yes, just a normal kid “caught in the headlights” saying the first thing that came to his mind.

Thanks to him, the next time someone asks me a question out of the blue that I don’t know how to answer, I can just say, “I like turtles!”. Its so much simpler than supercali…………….
