Video: Freaky deakiest UFO clip evah debunked, for real this time

Cynicism will never steer you wrong.

The next morning, with all the good leads exhausted and most hope lost, the telephone rang…

It was a woman named Sam. From Corsica. “Hello,” she said. “I am calling on behalf of barzolff814.”

Barzolff814? Why, he was the person who had posted the No. 1 Haiti video!…

The 35-year-old Barzolff is a professional animator who attended one of the most prestigious art schools in France and has a decade of experience with computer graphics and commercial animation.

It took Barzolff a total of 17 hours to make both the Haiti and Dominican Republic videos. He did it all by himself using a MacBook Pro and a suite of commercially available 3-D animation programs, including Vue 6. The videos are 100% computer-generated.

The videos, he said, were intended as research for a feature film project he’s been working on with Partizan, the France-based production company responsible for, among others, Michel Gondry’s “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”

When contacted to verify the story, “Eternal Sunshine” producer Georges Bermann said it was all true, and that Barzolff was “an absolute genius” who could “make anything look entirely real.”

To prove that he was truly behind the videos, Barzolff agreed to provide the L.A. Times with a new spacecraft video. Called “Proof,” the video depicts a small version of one of the spacecraft floating above a Paris street. As the camera pans over, the viewer sees two elderly women at a cafe. One of whom is holding a remote control device. Humorously, of course, this video makes use of computer graphics as well.

Here’s the original video, in case you’re one of the three people who hasn’t seen it yet. The new “Proof” clip, freshly posted to Barzolff’s YouTube account, follows below. Follow the link to the LAT, though, and see for yourself what the plot of Partizan’s new movie is. This really was a form of viral marketing.

Exit question: Conclusively debunked? Or transparent, irresistibly whimsical cover story that “the Man” wants you to believe lest we discover the Truth?

There’s something neat about seeing mature women having a little fun playing with toys. Makes you smile.

No debunking required. However will this percieved realism, go beyond entertainment? Perception is reality.

I wonder what Alex Jones and the Ron Paul people will say about this. Perhaps something like, ‘the two women are giants from another universe/country/underground culture who control everyone else.’ And that the animator behind all the videos is actually under the old ladies’ (or various other plotters’) mind control.

Meanwhile, I knew the original was animated just because the craft when passing overhead, swung to and fro, near-to-far, and displayed motion of something with small structure…like a toy. I didn’t look too much farther than that.

Meanwhile, creatively, these videos are tiny but quite neat fiction.

I question the cafe au lait.

I’m not buying it. She’s all over the place with those controls. I think that she’s a plant doing a bad acting job trying to make us believe that the UFOs are not real. That “model” would be in pieces on the sidewalk were her herky-jerky joy-stick movements truly controlling anything.

Clever of the aliens to choose “elderly ladies” costumes. What better way to blend two shades of gray skin. Clever indeed.

Where do I get one of those things ?

Allah, you seem to see “the game inside the game” as the sports people say. Connect the dots for us.

Ron Paul. Elect Ron Paul to learn the truth.

The search continues…they must exist…they must exist…

I remember, around five years ago, a CGI person saying that within about 10 years it would be impossible to tell the difference between CGI and real.

I’m imagining things like the fights in divorce court over the gumshoe video of the spouse at the motel.

Ron Paul was on the grassy knoll?

Ron Paul is an alien?

I’ve never seen him bend his pinky, now that I think about it!

Plan 9 from Outer Bircher“?

I thought that the whole thing was CGI or did he use traditional blue screen and models? I’m confused as to what was really done. I dabble in CGI and if it was all CGI then he did an outstanding job with the wobble animation. I don’t think it’s a RC device as I also dabble in RC helicopters and I haven’t seen anything like that out there. My guess would be a model on a string for the “truth” shot and a model with CGI enhancement for the others. In other words he is using the same methods used in the “Lost in Space” and “Serenity” movies where they shot a physical model and then CGI enhanced it for the final shots.

The UFO looks similar to the EM devices from the classic OAV Black Magic M66.

Hey, that gives me an idea, along the lines of the puzzling Mike Gravel ad. You put Ron Paul’s blank stare on camera, and just keep playing the 5-note clip from Close Encounters in different electronic sounds. Over and over.

Jaibones on August 22, 2007 at 10:23 AM

Way to go Internet.

Ortzinator on August 22, 2007 at 11:16 AM

I thought Ron Paul disassociated himself with the Truthers…

On the exit question, what a conundrum…does the government want un not to believe? Or do they want us to believe…covering up for something even more sinister? Like that video of the “death ray”, taken from space, where an apparent UFO ducks out of the way in the nick of time…whats worse, the UFO? Or that someone on Earth posseses a death ray?

UFO’s of course ! Because they have death rays too. Didn’t you see Mars Attacks ?

I see now! But how bad is a death ray when it’s operator’s head explodes at the sultry sounds of Slim Whitman?

Maybe this is why we were given the styling vocals of Tay Zonday! Tay will save us all!

Awwwh, now I have to stop drinking!
I really want to believe!

Kini on August 22, 2007 at 12:46 PM

OK. Now that’s impressive. How did two seniors squeeze Ron Paul into that small spaceship?

Dennis Rodman is going to be very disappointed to learn that the aliens who left him here haven’t really sent down a search party.
