I have contacted one of his “myspace friends” (when his page first was discovered) and he told me he challenged ButtChump and he admitted it was all BS. That is good enough for me. The rest is all just extra.

I see it as progress. They’ve clearly progressed from denial that they passed off fiction as fact to anger over the fact that they got caught.

Next stage, acceptance. I predict that one will take a loooong time to get to, though.

Weimar Era Right is historically inacurate and pretty funny. The early Nazi party collaborated with the communists against the Weimar. The right wing were royalists (and anti-Nazi and anti-communist). Hitler,who had ties with the military all along, decided that his party needed the support of the military and became anti-communist for that reason. It worked.

Classic Clintonian strategy. Attack the critics and hope people will forget the criticism. I predict this sort of thing is all the answer TNR will ever come up with, and they think that there is just enough liberal solidarity in the rest of the media that it will just move on. HotAir, Powerline, Malkin, and the rest won’t let this happen, thank the Lord.

And yeah there’s progress. These fake lib stories no longer have the legs they once did.
ex. “JINGIS” KHAN KERRY. He ran with that one for 40 years.

Even with full court press, global warming story is cooling.

MSM are cornered rats. Watch for their TET. It will be bad, but then comes tipping point and capitulation. Best and brightest no longer waiting in line for “anchor” slots at networks, editors at newspapers.

Although it is defense by offense, as I read the article, I think Chait really believes most of what he was saying from the we're saving America from the mindless warmongers perspective. For example: "Whether or to what degree Beauchamp's Diarist is true could not matter less to [Kristol]." Actually it matters a great deal to Kristol and everyone else on the right. That's been pretty much what everyone on this side has been trying to determine. It's TNR to whom the veracity doesn't seem to matter as much, as the stories validate the agenda. I did think the “Weimer-era German right” thing was pretty funny - how to call "Nazi!" without getting a flag thrown and a five-yard penalty for a Godwin's Law violation.
