Obama’s wife attacks Hillary?

Drudge and I are late to this but Rush Limbaugh was all over it Friday. Eh, sounds to me like she was just blowing smoke about family values:
‘One of the most important things that we need to know about the next President of the United States is, is he somebody that shares our values? Is he somebody that respects family? Is [he] a good and decent person? So our view was that, if you can’t run your own house, you certainly can’t run the White House. So, so we’ve adjusted our schedules to make sure that our girls are first’
If it’s a knock on Hillary for not spending enough time with her own daughter then it’s stupid. Chelsea’s grown and no one’s ever seriously accused Hillary of giving her short shrift. If it’s a knock on her for not being able to keep her man from straying or whatever, then it’s both stupid and exceptionally nasty — the rhetorical equivalent of those Australian lowlifes taunting her at a campaign stop with a cigar. Besides, it’s not going to work: the left’s line on Clinton unto eternity is that private foibles have no bearing whatsoever on managerial competence. If Obama seriously wants them to change course on that, I welcome him trying. It’d be magical to watch that hypocrisy flower.
The one thing that makes me think it might in fact be a shot at Hillary is that, per the left’s value system, she enjoys gender-based absolute moral authority vis-a-vis Obama and Silky such that if they want to get personal with her, they have no choice but to get a woman to do it for them. That’s why it was Elizabeth and not John Edwards who rapped her for not being woman enough. If someone in the Obama camp’s going to go this route, you’d better believe it’s going to be Michelle.
Obama’s already moved quickly to defuse this by denying that the remark was directed at Hillary. Never mind that anyway. Here’s the clip of his wife introducing him at another stop last week; skip ahead to about 5:10 if you’re counting down and enjoy her exceedingly nuanced take on what the war on terror is really all about. The left isn’t holding back anymore.

You’re not making a case, you even admitted it “just offering my opinion.” If you wanted to make a case you’d provide evidence. I think it’s becoming predictable that after every one of my responses RightWinged will call me “predictable” in order to avoid my points. So in order to avoid a mix up like that I’ll reiterate: prove your point.
Again you are not making a case, you are offering an opinion backed up by zero evidence.
Nonfactor on August 21, 2007 at 5:49 PM
You’re talking in circles.
You made a ridiculous statement that the only reason people are voting for Obama is because he is black. I replied with a specific example showing that that isn’t true based on the fact that he is recieving much wider support than the last major black candidate.
You “disqualified” that because, according to you, Sharpton wasn’t a real candidate. Since when were real candidates determined based on your opinion? I’m sure all the people that voted for him felt he was a real candidate.
You simply saying I’m wrong because Sharpton don’t count doesn’t make it fact.
How about Jesse Jackson? Was he real or fake? If Obama gets more support to Jesse does that mean some people didn’t realize Jesse was black? Or does it mean Obama is “blacker”?
I also gave you a full list of possitions other than “he’s black” that people who support him say they like. Your reply to that? Oh that’s just like all the other dems!
That’s b.s. RW. There are differences between Hilary, Edwards and Obama other than the color of their skin. Other voters see it, even if you don’t.
You want specific reasons? My mom says she’s supporting him because after listening to him and reading him she believes he is the one candidate who will truly help marginalized Americans.
One of my Deacons believes that the whole idea that Barrack represents hope for change and a better America rings true. As a Christian, you should be able to understand that.
Alot of people feel that he is genuinely opposed to the “war” in Iraq (I know it’s hard to believe but some Americans don’t like that war). They think Hilary is only saying she is against it now to score points because of her votes.
I could go on and on but I don’t see why I need list more? No matter what you say, there are many people supporting Obama for many reasons besides his race.
The fact that you can’t see that he has more going for him than that is more a statement about you than it is about me or anyone else.

First of all I said the thread was going down hill and referred to more than just you.
If you can’t see anything ugly about using crack in harlem to buy black votes or turning Obama’s wife into your stereotype of a black women “(staps fingers) Nuh-uh, no you ditn’t!” (your exact words RW) well then you and I just have different views of appropriate commentary.
12thman on August 21, 2007 at 5:58 PM
It looks like Hillary will probably pick Obama as her running mate, and this is shaping up to be the Democrat meme for the 2008 election: “Anyone who doesn’t make his decision based solely on race and sex is a racist and a sexist.”
It’s becoming a little trite to say “this next Presidential race will be the ugliest in American history,” but 2008 will be a truly historic leap downward.

She is the epitomy of the angry left minority.
Loud, generalizations against *the man*, animated gestures, stern frown, finger pointing, the zombie congregation nodding behind her in anticipation of their new entitlement meal-ticket cash cow bringin home the bacon.
Power to the PEOPLE!!!!!

Spin, diversion… just a few of Nonfactors usual tricks. As I REPEATEDLY SAID, yes, it’s my opinion… and I’m making a case, whether you think it’s a substantial one or not. 12thman made another claim (not just that I needed to prove mine), and refused to even attempt to support it. The one thing he tried, the Sharpton thing, fell flat the second he attempted it.
But again, why won’t you address my response to your initial troll comment to me?
RightWinged on August 21, 2007 at 6:26 PM
I’ll start with your second part 12thman:
First of all, don’t put someone’s comment about crack on me, that had nothing to do with me, and it’s dishonest of you to act like it did.
As for mocking her with the “no you ditn’t” comment, that was partially deliberate to bring out the trolls, admittedly… Let me explain something to you… I wouldn’t do that if we were talking about someone respectable, like Condi. She doesn’t define herself by race, and use it to score political points in the most shameful of manners. Now if you’ll look at my initial comment, Michelle Obama disgusts me over her “Barrack could be shot pumping gas because he’s black”, that is where I arrive at my opinion of her, in addition to her elitist black entitlement attitude that comes through anytime she opens her mouth.
Okay, well I’ll concede one point… some aren’t supporting him only because he’s black… they’re going on the “likability” factor. But the overall point is that he’s an empty suit, and lacks any substance, and he’s only been raised to the position of serious candidate because the media wants him to be. Do we need to rehash the analysis of the media’s treatment of him earlier this year? The guy was literally treated like the second friggin’ coming. Were Kucinich, Huckabee, Dodd, Paul on the cover of every paper and magazine in the country? They were all virtual unknowns just like him, prior to the election… yet they remain so.
You keep ignoring the point about the media deciding who we’re allowed to pick from. Sharpton and Jackson were “real” candidates, if your definition is “they’re running”… but they weren’t real, in that they exist solely to play race games and their candidacy was never taken seriously, even by them. It was just a way to get their voice heard. If you’ve ever heard an interview with Sharpton about his running, this comes across very clear.
The point is, Obama (just like the mainstream GOP candidates) has been raised to a level of standing a chance in the primaries by the media. Not by his own doing, and it is largely because he’s black. Some people like him because, he’s likable, but just like I explained, his supporters’ support amounts to “we believe he cares” and “hope”… This is no different than how the Dems have rolled for years, and there are plenty of others who could be in his position if the media had only put them there. Bottom line, everyone knows this guy ain’t ready for prime time. Even extreme left Bradky admitted that here the other day, and if you’re supporting him it’s on emotion, not substance. You can have a different opinion on whether that emotion is largely because he’s black and some people are desperate to prove something by supporting a black guy… but he’s really just the hero of college kids, just like Dean was. He’s someone that makes them think they’re supporting someone “different” and “unconventional”, when in fact he’s as conventional as it gets (aside from his idiocy when it comes to foreign policy)
RightWinged on August 21, 2007 at 6:43 PM
I’m not being dishonest. I’ve stated time and time again that these were comments of multiple posters here.
I said I had a problem with the way the thread was moving, naming a couple of individuals.
In the block of text you quoted I specifically indicated which part you said in paranthesis. Do you not see that??? How is that being dishonest.
If you purposely make inflamitory comments with biggoted twists, don’t be surprised if even some non-trolls take issue with it.
That is the only point I was making with you initially.
12thman on August 21, 2007 at 7:00 PM
I guess the fact that he’s polling in second place has nothing to do with it. I’m not going to even bother reading the rest of your post. Just like your idea that there is proof of God (except when there isn’t) this idea that Obama is ____ because he’s black isn’t based in reality.
Nonfactor on August 21, 2007 at 7:09 PM
All this will be forgotten when Mrs. Clinton chooses Barry as her Veep. It will be fun to see the charade on display as Michelle kisses Mrs. Clinton’s ass. FUN!
SouthernGent on August 21, 2007 at 7:11 PM
Well, I would expect non-trolls to observe the context from which it flowed.
Anyway, I’ll give you that not every supporter of Obama’s is supporter him solely because he’s black, but they are virtually all supporting him based on artificial reasons, and you can’t deny that much of his support is from white college aged liberals.
Well, at least you’re admitting your just here to troll. As for Obama polling second “having something to do with it”… he’s polling second, because they put him in that position. Just like the polls on the GOP side have been limited to Rudy McRomney, until the shock (because apparently principled GOP primary voters stood up and were counted) Iowa poll where Huckabee came in second. But that’s not going to be some new trend, he simply campaigned hard there… So did Dean once upon a time.
For you to act like the media didn’t place Obama in the position he’s in as a top contender for the Dems is beyond ridiculous. He polls high because they made him one of the top 3. They could have simply ignored him like they largely do the other candidates. There are 3 or 4 that I can’t just name off the top of my head right now… is it because “they aren’t polling well”, or because the media hasn’t made them in to heroes and decided they are among those who the folks can choose from?
RightWinged on August 21, 2007 at 8:08 PM
Luckily for Obama, he was raised Muslim, so he can get three more.
Cat fight!

I don’t feel no ways tired of making sport of these fools as they show their kooky beliefs and let snipets of their true self slip thru the carefully crafted veneers they put forth for MSM syndication.
Alden Pyle on August 21, 2007 at 9:52 PM
This woman is focused on being the Black first lady. Obama is incidental to that.
Oh yeah, you stupid broad, we don’t have to fear people that will fly commercial airliners full of innocents into buildings full of innocents.
Did she just say she was willing to sacrifice her husband? Oh yes she did!
“….the man who I’d rather have at home with me, at the state fair, but who I am willing to sacrifice…”
hahaha
She starts the mis speak/Freudian slip at 1:10 left in the clip.

The ONLY reason Osamabama is where he is right now is because he poses no possible threat to Hillary.
His first name is one letter away from “Osama”, and his middle name is freaking HUSSEIN for crying out loud! How hard will it be to pull the plug on that leaky boat if Obama tries to (as Hillary Clinton puts it) “leave the plantation?”
The media just wanted an excuse to run 24/7 coverage of their queen for two years before the election, and they couldn’t very well do that unless they could pretend there was a hotly contested “primary” going on.
Hillary was double digits ahead even BEFORE her token “opponent” said that he would not hesitate to attack a country that has nuclear weapons and he would never retaliate against a nuclear attack.
But if you ignore the numbers and just pay attention to the hype, you’d think they were running neck and neck. What are the liberal media going to do, wait until there’s a triple digit lead before they finally announce that the outcome of the Democrat Primary was decided six years ago?

She went from talking about food on a stick to wagging her finger at everyone. Bad form, in my opinion. Sheesh, I don’t like her and it’s a purely instinctual, emotional reaction. Anyone else think she’ll lose him votes?
yggdrasil on August 22, 2007 at 5:57 AM
“Stuff of a Stick” you lost me right there..the Messiah should set a better dietary example..

“Stuff on a stick” ooops

I kept wondering if she grew up with state fairs, otherwise, she shouldn’t talk about food on sticks. *pointing my finger at her and waggin’ it, lol*
Yes, Legions, she actually lost me there, too.
yggdrasil on August 22, 2007 at 9:20 AM
Seems like she was referencing the kids in the quote. I think it’s a stretch to consider it an attack on Hillary but I only read the transcript and didn’t view the video.

She looks like Wayne Brady in drag.

She looks like Wayne Brady in drag…and I wouldn’t want to meet her in a dark alley neither! Scary, just the thought of her as First Lady is scare-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
