Science news from Rosie: Do lies cause cancer?

posted at 9:38 am on August 20, 2007 by Allahpundit

A little late getting started this morning, but I wanted to find the perfect item with which to begin the week. And now, thanks to Jim Treacher, I have.

If you believe fire can’t melt steel, I guess this isn’t too much of a stretch:

Here’s the reference, in case you’re not sure where this comes from. Not the first time this year either that we’ve heard the left float its very progressive “liar” theory of oncology.

Admit it, though. You miss her.

Projection. She was entertainment, but inadvertently.

Hollywood Transcendentalism. Yay.

Mindcrime on August 20, 2007 at 9:45 AM

all humans lie

Now THAT was projection, AtomicAmish.

Wouldn’t be too many people alive over at Kos

Welcome to the Scott Thomas Beauchamp oncology ward.

liberrocky on August 20, 2007 at 9:52 AM

So Rosie’s mom told lies? Or is that different Rosie?

Pam on August 20, 2007 at 9:53 AM

Then according to Rosie…Elizabeth Edwards must be a liar.

mlong on August 20, 2007 at 9:54 AM

there is no spoon

sonnyspats1 on August 20, 2007 at 9:55 AM

Rosie’s site never fails to convince me that a kindergarten message board has been inadvertently hosted there. If those aren’t kindergartners, then is the collective intelligence and typing ability above single digits?

MadisonConservative on August 20, 2007 at 9:56 AM

Lies can’t cause cancer, cause that B***** isn’t all ate up with it.

E L Frederick (Sniper One) on August 20, 2007 at 9:59 AM

Darkness appears to prevent skin cancer.

I wonder is she’s wrong about other things?

JiangxiDad on August 20, 2007 at 10:01 AM

I remember in the legal battle over her magazine that a former employee told the court that she had survived cancer and that Rosie told her that she was a liar and that only liars got cancer.

Funny how you usually have all these organizations that come out swinging against people that none came out from the Cancer Society to set this witch straight.

moonsbreath on August 20, 2007 at 10:02 AM

Then according to Rosie…Elizabeth Edwards must be a liar.

Only if you’re limited by that ‘logic’ created by Dead White Guys. Elizabeth Edwards’ cancer was caused by lies, but not her lies. It was Chimpy McHitlerBurton’s lies. You know, Bush Lied! People Died!

Evan Sayet is right; once you understand the basic mechanism, it’s really easy to think like a leftist.

The Monster on August 20, 2007 at 10:02 AM

Hehe…I knew it. She’s not only a lefty retard, but also a HIPPIE lefty retard.

Oh, and FANTASTIC preview button, HA!! Thanks!

tickleddragon on August 20, 2007 at 10:02 AM

…but also a HIPPIE lefty retard.

What does her body have to do with it?

JiangxiDad on August 20, 2007 at 10:07 AM

You guys are a bunch of Rosaphobes.

Dork B. on August 20, 2007 at 10:14 AM

So how many people has she infected???

Miss_Anthrope on August 20, 2007 at 10:19 AM

This idea that lying and/or “choosing darkness” causes one to get cancer is a common theme in threads about Tony Snow over at HuffPo. They seem to seriously think that working for Bush and “telling his lies” every day is what caused Snow’s cancer to recur. Ignorant freaks.

There’s a parallel here between what she’s saying and what most religious people have said about people of her life style for years that’s rather ironic if you really think about it.

Mostly that when that sort of accusation was pointed at people like her the shrill was… rather verbose.

Noticed that too. That’s evidence of the paradigm shift thats taken place. We’re fighting to take that back, but it’s deeply ingrained and can take a generation to undo.

JiangxiDad on August 20, 2007 at 10:35 AM

You guys are all Rosieists. Shame.

JiangxiDad on August 20, 2007 at 10:37 AM

Admit it, though. You miss her.

Not in the least. Her wish to project her own self loathing upon the rest of us is vile and puke-inducing, and is superseded only by the fact that the transparency of such isn’t immediately obvious to all.

TinMan13 on August 20, 2007 at 10:40 AM

Meh…everybody likes to think that the universe agrees with them and passes out karmic justice to those that don’t.

Deep down, that’s one of the inspirations for schadenfreude.

James on August 20, 2007 at 10:40 AM

It is funny that Rosie comes up with the same kind of crap that Pat Robertson does.
I guess misattribution of causation is symptomatic of the moronic mind.

TheSitRep on August 20, 2007 at 10:46 AM

So, rosie, you calling my mother a liar? A teacher and woman of faith her whole life, you are calling her a liar? If you were a man, I’d say you had the balls the size of an elephant, you fat piece of sh*t.

I would never wish cancer on anyone, but I would like Ro-ro to experience “virtual cancer” to see if she still subscribes to her retarded theory.

Mallard T. Drake on August 20, 2007 at 10:48 AM

Lies can’t cause cancer, cause that B***** isn’t all ate up with it.

E L Frederick (Sniper One) on August 20, 2007 at 9:59 AM

But Rosie’s not lying–she’s just wrong. There’s a difference. She actually believes the ridiculous stuff she spouts, so she sees herself as a truthful person.

You can say things that aren’t true without lying. This is what the “Bush lied” chanters refuse to acknowledge–he was working off the best information he had (re: WMDs in Iraq) and ended up being wrong. That’s what Rosie’s doing, too. She’s wrong, but she doesn’t know it. (Not a flattering comparison for the president, but there you have it. I like to think of Rosie as deluded and Bush as mistaken, but it’s the same principle.)

aero on August 20, 2007 at 10:49 AM

So, RoBeast, that’s not fat, it’s all a toumor?

Mazztek on August 20, 2007 at 10:56 AM

Rosie is just performing some self-image damage control. A lie is only a lie if the information is willfully misrepresented. Otherwise it is just a mistake, or in Rosie’s case, the early onset of dementia.

awake on August 20, 2007 at 10:57 AM

If lies cause cancer, eating p***y must be fattening.

Kendrick on August 20, 2007 at 11:03 AM

hmmmmmm – Curious that such a wise woman is unemployed. Scientist, Medical Dr, Comedian – surely she can find a job doing something!

She sounds like one of Job’s “comforters.”

Bryan on August 20, 2007 at 12:15 PM

An independant study has determined that reading too many blogposts about Rosie can cause sudden painful and life threatening brain seizures.

JayHaw Phrenzie on August 20, 2007 at 12:21 PM

C’mon we would all love to be around people that say that we are right, always right. Kissing our @ss, saying we are the most intelligent, greatest, that we are an outsider. We would all like to be admired, adored, respected by our peers. Never doing any wrong.
Oops, wrong blog thought this was about Mitt.

Keep Rosie around for laughs, reminds us of how the progressives really think.

right2bright on August 20, 2007 at 12:36 PM

I would love to tell that C%&t about my 9 1/2 year old son. She is telling me and him that he died of cancer because he lied!!!!

ChefJeff on August 20, 2007 at 1:11 PM

“The Darkness is where the disease lives”

That explains the metasisized but crack….

ronsfi on August 20, 2007 at 1:25 PM

*gurk* *splutter*

How the hell does a full grown woman use f*&%ing chatspeak?

One more thing Rosie: If you pray for someone else to get cancer like Kos and Huffpo, does that mean you’re on the chopping block, or would it be justified for Tony Snow?

BKennedy on August 20, 2007 at 1:28 PM

Because of cancer victims, which my dad was, and cancer survivors, which my brother is, no, I do not miss her.

Last is First on August 20, 2007 at 2:10 PM

ChefJeff on August 20, 2007 at 1:11 PM

Apparently, so did my Dad since he died of cancer last year.

Miss_Anthrope on August 20, 2007 at 2:13 PM

What does this say about my testicular cancer? As they’d say on Firefly, “oh go-se.”

raybury on August 20, 2007 at 2:42 PM

I lost my father at 6 and my best friend 7 years ago to cancer. I’ve been telling this, and some other things, to Rotundness since I saw this. Still, haven’t seen that on her site. Since the last tiem I went there she said she’s “taking a break.” This time it’s personal.

And didn’t her mother die of cancer? Or was that Bush’s fault too?

PowWow on August 20, 2007 at 2:46 PM

Oh, crap! Love that show & can’t remember what that meant!!! (remember ‘Goram’ at least…)

Appreciate the help in recalling the Mandarin…thanks!

Didn’t think anyone noticed I was gone.

:-)

Thanks. I’m feeling the love.

What I want to know is…

does Rosie cause cancer?

The False Dervish on August 20, 2007 at 6:02 PM

Too many people suffer from the horrors of cancer.

They do not need to hear stupid statements like “lies cause cancer.”

The False Dervish on August 20, 2007 at 6:04 PM

Bleh. My mother died from cancer and she never did anything wrong to anyone. F- Rosie.

aengus on August 20, 2007 at 6:32 PM

Lying, however, does cause Democrats.

profitsbeard on August 20, 2007 at 6:39 PM

Miss her? How could anyone miss a target that size?

rakofgor on August 20, 2007 at 11:43 PM

Whatever. I don’t miss her.

I don’t know what it’s called but whenever I go online and see a picture of this sow, I must immediately shower. It must be some sort of sickness on my part but I always feel better…

sabbott on August 21, 2007 at 9:01 AM

Rosie is an idiot, through and through. Rosie is clueless about pretty much every possible concept. For her to speak of spiritual things with such blatant and obvious ignorance proves it.

Cancer, in its myriad forms, as well as any other disease, can have uncountable root causes. Sometimes it is possible to link a particular case of cancer to its primary source, sometimes it isn’t.

Bryan has it right, she sounds like Job’s “comforters”, who want him to confess whatever sin has brought about his troubles, when it was precisely that he was a righteous man, that brought him into the situation he found himself. We cannot know this side of Heaven why any particular thing may have happened to someone. Assuredly, someone who lives and believes as Rosie does cannot know why someone else is sick.
