McCain doesn’t support war against the Jihadist – remember, he’s against enemy combatants being tried in military courts, is against ‘torture’… In other words, he’s the closest thing al Qaeda could have in terms of representation in the US senate (Barbara Lee fills that role in the House).

His advocacy of the surge has nothing to do with confronting the Jihadists, since it prevents Muslim on Muslim warfare in Iraq, which would tend to weaken al Qaeda, not strengthen it.

Trust John the McInsane.? I’m glad he can sleep well at night. I’m sure he or his brood doesn’t have to worry about paying $5,850 a year in health ins. and we never have even used it in 6 years now..paying for all his freebee ANCHOR BABIES births is hurting the heck out of me and my family and soon I will just go without health ins. I like Mitt’s idea for the ins..And don’t let me forget about his nice illegals who ran me and my family out of our own home..A home I worked to restore for over 15 years of my life. All on record at the police dept. who after 3 years of it,finally told me it was best if I moved..once you lose their support you know its time to go..So I’m glad Johnny and his family sleep well at night..what more could we ask for.

Believe me, I’m no supporter of John McCain. But I think his statement in this clip about immigration is correct. That the government has not convinced the American People it is serious about enforcing immigration law. And that eventually we’re going to have to face the problem of what to do with 20 million people who are here illegally.

Some of the illegals certainly must be deported, including criminals of all kinds (convicted criminals, absconders, identity thieves, fraudulent voters, gang members, etc). The fight will be over how diligent the effort will be to identify those people. The rest of the illegals will be allowed to stay after immigration is brought under control.

Depends on which poll you prefer; Rasmussen today has it at:

Rudy Giuliani at 29%
Fred Thompson at 22%
Mitt Romney 13%
John McCain 11%

I suspect Rasmussen’s poll leans more conservative since they focus on “likely primary voters”, while others like Gallup often poll Republicans and “Republican leaning independents”. In some states Independents can’t vote in the primary, and tend to be less likely to vote in the primary in those states they can.

I’d be surprised if Rudy’s numbers didn’t drop once his opponents hammer him on abortion, immigration and his personal life. It’s too soon to for any crystal ball reading though.

Which pollster will be most accurate? Who knows. In any case McCain is treading water, and the sharks are circling.
