Probably not… I’m not a cop, and I don’t know any politician there. NY does not have a “shall issue” law, all it takes to be denied a permit there is for the interviewer to be on a bad hair day.

I do hold a Texas concealed weapon permit. But I don’t need one here in Iraq.

BK-I am equally frustrated by Fred’s delay in making his “Official Announcement”. It is painful to watch but I believe it is what’s needed.

Reagan may have announced in Nov. but THIS campaign started far too early and I think its smart to have waited. I also believe that Fred will be proven correct in waiting..

To quote Fred himself, …I wasn’t there when they made those rules and I’m not abiding by them….(in reference to the early start of the campaign)

His strategy is working for him and against the other candidates in my opinion.

If he does not run then I will say shame on me but if he does run and wins then I will say, See, I told you so…”

We will all find out sooner or later and in the meantime you have to admit it’s fun to watch…

Try using a handgun in your home in NYC to defend your family. You will find out very quickly how “reasonable” gun control works there. First thing the authorities will ask you is “do you have a permit?” And if you don’t, you will wish you had just rolled over and let the bad guy have his way with you. NY doesn’t see the logic in letting citizens arm themselves, only cops and criminals.

What could be MORE encouraging to Fred Thompson’s campaign than to have the “Nutroots” orchestrate a blitz of negative blogging posts to undermine his efforts.

1. Not suffering from internal strife and endless blunders.

2. Not riding L&A fame past labor day as a way to keep your numbers constant in the polls. If nobody knows who you are and the most pressure you’re willing to take is from friendly questioners, then they can’t change their preconceived opinion of you. If Kal-el of Krypton believed in universal health care, but didn’t want anyone to know it until primary season was well underway and he was lost in the shuffle, he’d just say he’s running as Superman and he’s be getting in when he’s getting in.

3. Anything, ANYTHING other than this baiting crap he’s been pulling with his announcement date. He’d be fine if he just said “we’re looking into it” for the past few months, but multiple times he’s told us of his “announcement” and played around with the idea in front of Leno and Hannity (in truly amatuer form, I might add), but he’s never given a solid answer and it hurts him.

Yeah, Reagan announced in November. 20 Years Ago, and without baiting everyone for the few months prior.

Requiring a license and a test to make sure a gun owner is responsible is not unreasonable. Sure the criminals will ignore these limitations, but responsible gun owners will still have the right to get a gun and protect their family from those criminals, and the cops will be given another weapon to use to get the illegal guns out of the hands of the criminals.

The MSM are trying to take a page from the reps 2004 playbook. They attacked the weakest candidate, counting on your exact emotional response to the attack. (they feared edwards I think, but attacked Kerry. It worked.)Just because someone you dislike says something doesn’t mean you automatically take the opposite position.

I guess you are one of those — I have the right to bear military grade arms, without restrictions without limitations — kinda guys. I guess laws against nuclear prolifiration are unconstitutional because they limit your ability to bear a suitcase nuke. If the fed can have nukes — joe six pack can have ‘em too.

The right to bear arms is just that — a right. But with all rights, it has reasonable limits and comes with responsibilities.
