It doesn’t require the professional diagnosis of a clinical therapist to see this, it requires being a human being.

So STB is a narcissistic sociopath with an axe to grind. There’s no crime in that, other than defaming fellow soldiers with fraudulent stories intended to make them out to be heartless, murdering, evil occupiers. However, there is much wrong with Reeve, Foer, and the rest of the editorial staff at TNR for first allowing STB’s work into print, then standing behind it with more fabrications, then attempting to block information, then blameshifting, but never once admitting that they might have made mistakes.

We should be witnessing that rag’s final days, and we should expect that neither Foer nor Reeve ever work in any form of journalistic media again.

What I admire most is that we, the readers, get intelligent writers and thinkers to read.

The “journalism” racket is full of sub-average minds. You remember these dorks from the high school and college newspaper — it’s the same people. Marginal thinkers with a groupthink liberal world view, congregating in an industry that smart people had no use for.

A couple of years of covering local politics and car accidents, and now they’re brilliant political analysts.

Instead of these losers we get well-educated, intelligent, and fun-snarky writers who know more about just about everything. My goodness, would you rather read Allah and Jeff Goldstein or Maureen Dowd and Bob Novak?
