BBC drama turns jihadist attack plot into … animal rights attack plot

posted at 1:34 pm on August 20, 2007 by Allahpundit

Wow. Standard industry practice calls for Islamist substitutes to be white supremacists and/or Serbs. What could have possessed the Beeb to eschew the old tried-and-true and use a darling leftist cause instead? Just throwing righties a bone to try to defuse the inevitable outcry over their whitewashing of jihad? Won’t work, boys.

They’re not afraid of Muslim reaction, they’re just trying to be “sensitive” by not depicting anything that might reinforce stereotypes by reflecting actual reality.

According to Casualty sources, senior drama executives had supported starting the new series with a two-part special in which a young Muslim runs into a bus station and blows himself up.

But the plotline was blocked by guideline staff, who oversee the corporation’s editorial and ethical standards. They were said to have been worried that the episode would perpetuate the stereotype of young British Muslims.

It comes as Channel 4 plans to broadcast a two-part thriller depicting the carnage caused by a female Muslim suicide bomber from Bradford, who blows herself up at Canary Wharf in London.

Don’t get too excited about that Channel 4 program, either. Given their track record, expect it to be loaded to the gills with “root causes.”

Exit question: Any of our British readers up for videotaping the inevitable PETA protest outside BBC headquarters? This terrible, offense-giving stereotyping of animal rights activists must not be allowed to pass unchecked.

They are messing up, the villains must be conservative, religious, middle aged white guys.

It is happening in America. Employees of both Fox and Weinstein have reported that they have been put under pressure to alter the news and Hollywood plots to appease Saudi Arabia.

I blame BushMcHitlerBurton, and I question the timing…

If somebody had eaten pig, either would have worked.

If you watch the pilot closely, you’ll see that the actor is ACTUALLY one of Dick Cheney’s many clones. You see, that’s why the White House doesn’t support stem cell research… because Cheney has a monopoly on it now to create his perfect eeeevil clones to do his bidding, all while claiming it *obviously* couldn’t have been him (wink wink).

Who do you think planted all those bombs in WTC 1, 2 and 7? Who do you think was the mysterious unknown hijacker of United 93? Who do you think was really the head of the Stone Masons? Come on…

What a bunch of wimps, i’d almost prefer the soccer hoodlums to this crap.

I’m waiting til they finally “get it” and make the Jews and Christians the terrorists on innocent muslims?

Defector01 on August 20, 2007 at 1:41 PM

even the bbc knows that peta won’t blow themselves (and others) up in protest. So its really a smart move on their point; and makes the relevant point anyways.

Of course we know the ending. The Animal Rights Activists see the light due to Al Gore about Global warming and the join the fight to stop it and become good guys.

And we all live happily ever after

Well, animal rights nuts sometimes do the jihadis’ work.

Example: Pim Fortuyn.

I dunno….Ms. Marple in a hijab tripping up an evil, (just happens to be Jewish), bio-engineer employed by Haliburton…..sounds interesting. I’d watch it.

Yep. Just watched “The Shooter” over the weekend (with Marc Wahlberg). Ned Beatty’s character was the stereotypical Dick Cheney Hollywood bad guy who, in the end, was the one pulling all the strings for oil (which included the slaughtering of a village just so a pipeline could run through there, and the assasination of that country’s leader). Classic.

This happened before with Pim Fortuyn. The killer specifically said he was acting on behalf of Muslims, yet almost all the coverage depited him only as an animal rights nut. So many people still believe Fortuyn was murdered for some animal rights reason when in fact his own killer said he was murdered for opposing Muslim immigration.

“Any of our British readers up for videotaping the inevitable PETA protest outside BBC headquarters?”

I don’t have a TV licence, and I wouldn’t want to watch it anyway, so sorry, but I can’t help. In addition, the thought of watching a four-hour Channel Four drama-mentary about Muslim suicide bombers from Bradford does not appeal to me. It would probably heap the blame on the BNP-voting white supremacist thugs that rule the streets of Bradford, and who cause the non-white residents of Bradford to cower in fear of imminent death, every single moment of their waking lives.

Animal rights activists aren’t quite the darling cause they used to be in the UK; there was a recent case whereby some activists dug up and stole the body of a life science employee’s grandmother, and that has taken a lot of the idealistic shine off them. In the same way that the Soviet Union’s invasion of Czechoslovakia took a bit of the shine off the Soviet Union. The current trendy protest cause in the UK is Heathrow, and air travel (“Make Planes History”).

I think I remember fjordman once saying that Britain had a better shot at survival than most of the continent because “at least they have the football hooligans”.

BNPers and Islamists fighting in the streets like Freikorps and Bolsheviks with everyone else cowering in their homes – a lovely future for Britain if it keeps up like this.

I used to think people who said Europe will become Islamic were a bit nuts. Not anymore. Time is running out.

And to make matters worse, they will all be stuck there in that jihadist Euro prison – being that there won’t be any planes to get them out.

Last season Casualty had a ‘terrorist incident’ when a young Asian male went nuts on the plane, and it turned out that he was only having a diabetic seizure. The cops who were restraining him were Evil and the paramedic who happened to be on the same plane was Enlightened and Tolerant, and we all learned that we should check for a medic alert bracelet before assuming the guy going nuts is actually a terrorist. Or something.

The CBC has Doctor Who tonight; a show I really like. If you believe that science fiction exposes the fears of a society, there have been many episodes where a large group of “people” assimilated and part of society have turned upon the society that trusted them.

That’s true. Ten or fifteen years ago, they would have changed the storyline to Muslim terrorists to avoid offending animal rights activists…

Time Travelling Nazis, yeah, that’s the ticket!

(One of them also apparently ended up in Arabia in 610 A.D., killed a poor camel-driver named Mohammad, took over his identity, and the rest, as they say, is Islam.)
