Video: Geraldo cringes everytime he sees Michelle on Fox

Well, we wouldn’t want to make Geraldo Rivera cry. But the fact is, he didn’t really address the situation. He once again smeared Michelle by bringing up militias, the KKK and neo-Nazis, to whom Michelle has no links and has never had any links (to whom Geraldo has attempted to link Michelle before), rather than just answer the question of whether deportable criminal aliens ought to be deported. And he brought up In Defense of Internment, mischaracterized it as “extolling” Roosevelt’s internment, rather than answer the question at hand. That’s called changing the subject. And he said he “cringes” nearly every time he sees Michelle on Fox. Well ain’t that a shame.
We have 100% preventable crimes and we have a government that’s supposed to enforce the laws that would lead to those preventions. What would Geraldo do about them? We still don’t know. We do know than when confronted with facts, Geraldo either distracts with emotion, or attacks his critics with smears and innuendo. When he isn’t actually lying on national TV. So today’s performance is just a reversion to the usual form.
I’m just surprised he didn’t bring up John Lennon. Because, you know, he was an illegal alien too.
Exit question for Geraldo: Was LBJ’s “war on poverty” an actual, violent war on poor people? Or are you just once again trying to smear an opponent who has beaten you on the facts time and time again?
Update (AP): MM responds:
Geraldo says he “cringes” whenever I’m on Fox. I’ll tell you exactly why. It’s not because of any principled objection he has to the arguments I’ve made in my books (which he hasn’t read), columns, blog posts, and tee-vee appearances. It’s because the mere existence of conservative-thinking minorities who reject his tired old brand of identity politics threatens his race/ethnic-card-playing schtick. He can no longer dismiss all immigration enforcement proponents as racists without looking like a fool or tool, because there are countless, vocal numbers of them like me who have skin as brown as his. He cringes because he knows I’m not alone. He cringes because I’ll call out his bullcrap to his face without feeling any need to soften the blow or suck up in a collegial manner. He’s a know-it-all who knows nothing about the deportation abyss–and he masks his fundamental ignorance with incoherent indignance.

If he had read MM’s book ( a Case for Internment) he would not have mentioned it in this debate!
I don’t want physical violence, but I do want physical action! Now!

Can’t say much for the 3 hostesses on Fox and No Friends either. The blond is a Ahole. The 2 geldings are typical New York feminist males.
Wade on August 17, 2007 at 6:20 PM
Of course he cringes…she puts him in his place. You realize that this is an admission of him being intimidated by her. Rockon Michelle!

Wow, Michelle is responsible for motivating the KKK.
Who knew — that the KKK is motivated by the positions of a half-American half-Filipino woman?
According to Geraldo, even the KKK is making progress.

Michell + KKK? ???!
Michelle, PLEASE stop responding to this idiot. HA PLEASE stop reporting on his trips to and from reality. There’s nothing left but personal attacks on this guy – his “points” are predictably…Oh forget it…
JWS on August 17, 2007 at 8:37 PM
Geraldo is the one being divisive and inflammatory. I can usually tolerate him when he is on but the only way I will watch him now is if Michelle is there to set him straight. I’m usually not like that but he is really starting to tick me off.
kahall on August 17, 2007 at 8:46 PM
The more we talk about this Nutcase the more Fox will put him on air. Why can’t he give his views over the spanish channels…2,000 of them and counting..

Alright stop knocking Lennon, Bryan.

hmm, I’m getting this image of a tee-shirt with Michelle’s face on the front and a speech bubble saying, “I make Geraldo cringe”.

Geraldo’s comment was a real bummer. My email to FNC:
petefrt on August 17, 2007 at 9:19 PM
Obligatory Sexist Comment: Geraldo crys more than a woman.
Come on Geraldo. Say it to Michelle’s face. Come on, can’t you face a 5′1(approx.) woman, big man?
People like Geraldo make me sick. They’re an embarrassment to every single member of the male gender and the human race as a whole.
BKennedy on August 17, 2007 at 9:21 PM
BRAVO, MM !!!

Michelle’s response to Geraldo’s latest inanities is pure gold and suitable for framing. But, since it uses “big” words, its message is probably lost on people like Geraldo, for whom simplicity is the order of the day, all day, every day.
Geraldo says he cringes when Michelle is on Fox, and Michelle gets close to why he does this, but in actuality he cringes because his body is remembering the last time she tore him a new one when he sat opposite her on one of Fox’s shows.

Geraldo was so yesterday.

Most excellent smackdown, Michelle! I would pay lots of real American money to see a Malkin/Rivera cage match.
I really don’t think it’s just coincidence that there’s no O’Reilly Factor with guest host Michelle Malkin. Whether MM’s a guest or a substitute host, the quality of the show is enhanced. This can’t help but point out the deficiencies of BOR.
Regarding Fox news — I agree with many of the folks on this thread. I, too have noticed that Fox has developed a leftward slouch as well as a tendency to join in with the MSM pack (so much so that, if you couldn’t see the Fox logo, you’d be hard pressed to know just what network you’re tuned in to.)
If Fox was as smart and trustworthy as they claim to be, the Malkin Factor aka, The No Bullcrap Zone would be the featured Fox proram.
Michelle, you’re our only hope!

Great slapdown Michelle, I am soooooo sick of this guy. And I have also turned the channel off of Fox whenever he comes on. (unless I know that Michelle is on to counter him) But it seems that that does not occur much anymore. Has Geraldo made it known that he will not come on the air with her anymore becuase she frightens him so?
I have to admit, if I was a sham lefty reporter elitest that was too stupid to argue a position on it’s merits with a cheesy mustache, I would be afraid of you too!
Wait a minute, I do have a cheesy mustache…….Michelle you are kinda scary….

God Bless Michelle! The gal is right on all the time. What can we do to get Fox to have her own show?

HEY JIANGXIDAD — PAY CLOSE ATTENTION…
My comment “Sleazy Greaseball” was about Geraldo Rivera… not about Hispanics. Try and stay focused on the topic at hand, and stop race-baiting. Look at the guy — a brisk brushing of his Maine could bolster the oil supply in this country (THEREFORE THE TERM “GREASEBALL”), and even today in 2007, he is still sporting that 70s porn star moustache (HENCE THE TERM “SLEAZY”). Got it??
D2Boston on August 18, 2007 at 12:04 PM
SORRY FOR THE TYPO ABOVE — “Maine” should read “MANE” (I am sitting in the state of Maine at the moment!)

AprilOrit – reference your reply of 8/17 – and your disappointment at MM’s articles appearing on vdare.com.
I failed to mention the Mighty Michelle is also featured on two of my favorite websites. One is http://www.Jewishworldreview.com and http://www.Frontpagemag.com – both excellent in content.
These are read with the first cup of coffee in the mornings.

After seeing Rivera’s same old bullcrap time after time after time, two things always come too mind when I see him on tee-vee. The last channel button and the fast forward button.
oakpack on August 18, 2007 at 7:47 PM
Geraldo is one of those Boomers who just refuses to let go of his ’60s worldview. Sittin’ around, smokin’ some grass, groovin’ to the Dead — and rappin’ about how all brown-skinned people are oppressed by The Man.
Geraldo: The Summer of Love was 40 years ago, man. Get the f— over it, OK?
Ali-Bubba on August 19, 2007 at 4:47 AM
I keep asking myself by Geraldo isn’t on MSNBC instead of Fox News. But then again, I ask the same question about Allan Colmes.
pilamaye on August 19, 2007 at 11:47 AM
Rivera, an acknowledged womanizer, likes his quiet and submissive. MM, not being such a woman, causes his macho, chauvinists mentality to surface making it obvious that he is unable to ‘handle’ women who ‘get in his face’ by having opinions counter to his own.
pocomoco on August 19, 2007 at 12:34 PM
Geraldo simply wants to be looked upon as an immigrant. Evidently, to him, if you have an Hispanic background, you are some type of immigrant. He is Puerto Rican, yet he tries to push the story that his dad faced difficulty as an immigrant. Evidently, Geraldo does not understand that Puerto Ricans are not illegal aliens or immigrants because they have been Americans since 1899.
Geraldo is part of the reconquistador movement. He seems more outraged when an illegal alien is exposed for committing crimes than the crime itself (and he does get upset about the crime committed from what I have seen so far) which shows me perhaps a moral/cultural/country challenge on his part.
Well, I guess I am an….IMMIGRATIONIST.
Every nation must keep their borders secure and enforce their immigration laws. EVERY nation.
The False Dervish on August 19, 2007 at 2:45 PM
When I think of gerry rivers I want to start name calling. Even though everything I would call him would fit I will refrain.
This excuse should be exposed for all that he is and then shunned into non existance. Whoever puts him in front of a camera and mic should have their head examined. In this day and age his brand of “news” and “commentary” is pretty old. I think most people, except the idiots, see him for what he realy is.
Volpe on August 19, 2007 at 3:39 PM
Sort of OT, but how come we haven’t heard anything from Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton on the NJ Slayer? I bet if he was European-America, Newark would still be burning. Why the double standard with illegals?
Wuptdo on August 19, 2007 at 4:38 PM
Completely OT – this afternoon Geraldomundo was interviewing a spokeman from the Lone Star State about their emergency measures for the approaching hurricane Dean. Yes, people are evacuating. Yes, those that choose to remain are stocking emergency supplies. Yes, they are gassing up vehicles in case they have to evacuate. Yes, cities as far away as Dallas are sending school buses to aid evacuation if needed (looks like Nagin is off the hook for this storm).
Geraldomundo wanted to know what/if Texas was going to do if Dean only made landfall in Mexico, would they be offering assistance (”since, as we know, so many live in sub-standard living there”). The very eloquent spokesman was quiet for a minute or two. Guess it’s hard to explain to a moronic nitwit that any assistance to the sovereign country of Mexico would/should be be from our Federal Govn’t….instead, the spokesman spoke to him like a child. “Yes, contacts are being made from both sides of the border since they share a common one!” I burst out BWA-ha-ha—-.

Bryan, you should have seen Geraldo on “The Mike & Juliet Morning Show” a couple of days ago. He brings up Michelle, as usual, and a couple of audience members shout “GO MICHELLE!” One lady vociferously proclaims “I’M WITH MICHELLE!” much to Geraldo’s chagrin. He also didn’t miss the opportunity to point out that Michelle wrote a book “condoning” the internment of the Japanese. It’s obvious, as previously stated, that he did not read Michelle’s book. Good work, Bryan.
MsUnderestimated on August 20, 2007 at 10:09 AM
I don’t know, been thinking about this for a couple of days. Would I take being a millionaire like Geraldo, being the butt of jokes, pointed at as being foolish, routinely laughed at (my nephew was in Iraq when Geraldo was there, he said they just all sat back and laughed at him, he was so embarrassed to have him there), or sitting here commenting on him.
I wish our border wall was as strong as his false ego.
right2bright on August 20, 2007 at 12:41 PM
Fox News’s producers would be accepting full political responsibility and taking full advantage of the opportunity afforded them by their power, if they could bring themselves to consider Rivera more on the basis of his contribution to the wellbeing of the American regime than on the basis of his ratings. From most accounts I’ve read, the man seems like a clown. As such, he seems to damage Fox News’s capacity to treat politically serious matters in politically serious ways. Considering how great a desert is the Americans’ public political discourse, already, whatever damages a (comparative) oasis such as Fox News seems to do significant harm to the Americans. Fox News’s producers would do better for their country, if they were to push themselves to think of something more difficult and humanly more significant than Rivera’s mere contribution to their channel’s ratings.
Kralizec on August 21, 2007 at 4:09 AM
On one of his comedy albums in the late 80’s early 90’s the Once great pig of all comedians Andrew Dice Clay wanted to ask Geraldo a question at one of the question and answer periods after his show(at the time). For the one or two of you who might remember/ get this, has it ever been a more relevant question than now? If anyone does look this up be warned its very vulgar and I will not repeat it here.
Joey1974 on August 21, 2007 at 12:02 PM
He talks like someone thinks what he cares.
What I remember about him, (who was Jerry before he was Geraldo), is the time he had the porno on his show and the porno offered $100,000 for any info on any Republican who was cheating on his wife.
Great showmanship that. (ush)
