Hezbollah releases video game

Actually, this is their second release. The clip below is from “Special Force;” today brings us “Special Force 2,” replete with kidnappings of Israeli soldiers — a.k.a. “raids” — and Katyusha rocket attacks on Israeli population centers. Destroy the Zionist aggressor, then for big points stage the most ludicrously poignant virtual propaganda photo of the rubble you can think of and try to sell it to the local virtual western news bureau. Rumor has it that a cheat code unlocks Flat Fatima.
Iran’s gotten into the FPS jihad market lately too; I wonder if they’re bankrolling Hezbollah’s game. How effective are video games really, though, as a means of indoctrination? When I play “Ghost Recon 2,” I’m not focused on the geopolitical implications of Mexican rebels having nukes; I’m just trying to hit the target. Seems to me the money is better invested in the sort of evil but effective crap Hamas does with its kiddie programming. Hezbollah does some of that too, but it could have done more with the cash it laid out for this — an especially important consideration now that cash might be harder to come by.

Looks like freebie coding from a community college computer gaming design class.

If someone made an MMO about this stuff, we could just fight it out online.

Islam: Game Over.
(Or, in the pinball era): TILT!
profitsbeard on August 16, 2007 at 3:42 PM
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the clip was horrible. That looked like a game from the late 90’s. Me and only one or two friends could make a game that looked better than that quite easily.
DaveS on August 16, 2007 at 3:42 PM
While obviously more emphasis is laid on in this game, this is one of those rare cases where this kind of quote irks me:
Cop out. What are all of Tom Clancy’s games about?
MadisonConservative on August 16, 2007 at 3:47 PM
Oh, and the game looks like crap, and should be treated as such. I’d love to see GameSpot’s review.
MadisonConservative on August 16, 2007 at 3:47 PM
So they’re producing dirt, dogshit, and video games?
They’re totally surpassing Tajikistan in GDP output.
gabriel sutherland on August 16, 2007 at 3:54 PM
Looks like they need to tighten up the graphics…
Bad Candy on August 16, 2007 at 3:58 PM
They may have to redo some of that soundtrack. According to Meryl Yourish, Hamas is working on banning any instrument not mentioned in the Qur’an.

That would be the only place Hambollah could beat Israel, in some crappy, home made video game. Keep on jihadding you a*&%*$s. I wonder if the game gives them 72 virgins when they die? That part might be interesting - if their women didn’t look like men!

What do you do, run up to an ice-cream parlor and blow your self up?

Hey, are you on the PC or Xbox 360? I bought GRAW2 for my Dad and he said it’s too slow on his P4-2.4 GHz/1 GB RAM/128 MB GeForce 6600 vid PC.
I’d like to play with him on Xbox Live but he’s used to the PC mouse/keys scheme and isn’t feelin’ the love for the Xbox controller.

Special Force 2!
“So intensely realistic, you can smell the stank on the jihad warriors!”
–Al Jazeera
“The detail is amazing! And you can do it again and again!”
–Suicide Bombers Weekly
“I especially liked the Israeli kindergarten level– the little flying body parts were a real hoot!”

Ahhh! That’s a ripoff of Tank Wars on shockwave.com.
The terrorists think tank must be running out of ideas. That, or their brains have been “liberated”.

I’ve seen better graphics in Commander Keen.

Why would one want to play a game of something one does already?

LOL!
Found another at Jihad Weekly Reader:
“The talking trees and rocks help the novice jihadi find the Jews, but the ‘pigs and apes’ mode looks to be still in Beta. Two severed heads out of four. ;o/;o/..”

coondawg on August 16, 2007 at 8:38 PM
I wish I could try it but my PC hasn’t been the same since those two unspent rounds of ammo hit it.
tlynch001 on August 16, 2007 at 8:51 PM
Oh don’t even bloody get me started on Gamespot reviews. If it’s a turn based strategy game that requires an attention span greater than a four year olds, they’ll give it a 4.5; sub moronic MMORPG (pick any out of a hat) and it’s an automatic 9-10. There is so much bias over there against strategy games, they make the New York Times look fair.

I make video games. I play video games. Video games are a friend of mine. That, sir, is no video game.
I suppose they aren’t exactly targeting cutting edge systems, though. I suppose it holds up well by 9th century standards.

Meanwhile, the Hezbollah-loving left continues to lie about the “Left Behind: Eternal Forces” game:

JinxMcHue on August 17, 2007 at 12:17 AM
You need to select “hand toss unfired rounds” mode during game play to get that to work correctly.
We’re here to help.

Mojave Mark-
If that doesn’t work for tlynchoo1, he should hit Ctrl+Alt+*~@):~{>.
Works every time.
Gets you into Safe Mode where you can use the otherwise-hidden Madhi strategy.

Ok, but is it realistic?
It’s gotta be hard to make a FPS where the main player’s character is more likely to die than any of the computer run opponents (presuming they went for a realistic viewpoint)…
