While you are busy re-writing history and being politically correct perhaps you can tell us what to call Operation Wetback II. Since referring to a repetition of the 1950′s successful Operation Wetback by it’s historically accurate name is so offensive to your sensibilities what should we call it?

Oh I know, let’s call it…Operation Deport the Undocumented Americans….God forbid we make any reference to any past operations (especially by their historically accurate names) to enforce our national immigration laws.

I mean for crying out loud how dare we arrogant Americans even think to suggest that we should have immigration laws, let alone make any historical references to successful methods of enforcing those immigration laws.

And by god how dare I suggest repeating those historically successful methods or have the audacity to suggest that we call those operations nearly the exact same thing they we call originally.

Ummm, I said “Hats off to Laura…” I know that she gave the story some attention because I’d read about it at Free Republic, then heard Dr. Savage thank her for it on his show.

Not a peep about it from Hot Air or MM.

What’s odd is your not listening to Laura..On her Wednesday’s show, she not only was talking about Dr. Savage, she was praising him for not buckling in like Imus did. And she stood 100% behind the good Dr.’s view points on the issues. Way to go Laura!!!!!!

I use to take the Mex.Amer. friend of my son with us on my speed boat to have fun and waterski. And believe me I was the only one in the area who did this..so don’t even think about calling me what you think. However everything became so clear when the illegals showed me no mercy, the police actually told me it was best if I were to move..thats all I got to say, I have to go watch O’Reilly he’s got the shamnesty king himself on and he’s been let out again without his straightjacket.

Don’t sweat it. We can’t rename things in history because the word/term offends us. I understand why we have to be careful on this site about what we say or refer to. But we shouldn’t get revisionist either. That is the way of the left.

I have to say, there are a lot of legal hispanic immigrants here that are just as outraged about this problem as the rest of us. I have a friend at work, white guy, married to a mexican girl. They have been trying for years to deal with the immigration system legaly to get her status straight. (and no, just because you are married to an american does not mean you get legal status automatically) Anyway, they are outraged by the sense of entitlement shown by illegals in this country. In fact he has always had a pretty good relationship with the hispanics at work because they know about his wife and he speaks spanish. That is until the other day, when they brought him a petition to sign demanding ammnesty. He refused to sign and now they are openly hostile to him.

So yes, some on onboard and fighting the good fight.

BTW, his wife feels the same way.

I agree completely with Laura. That said, if you do not attribute this behavior of the business community to stupidity, then most likely, your next best choice is to attribute this behavior to greed.

For the record, readers/viewers, I do not use the term “wetback.” Yes, the feds used the term in naming the successful “Operation Wetback” deportation operation in the 1950s. But that was the 1950s. I’m not getting all P.C. on you here, and I’m not going to delete the comments already posted, but slinging around the term is not helpful in the debate, IMO.

And: It is not an accurate of the description of Martinez-Flores–who entered the country legally and then overstayed his visa…like 40 percent of all illegal aliens currently in the country.

I would not use the term on this site but I understood what doriangrey was trying to convey and I don’t believe he used it in a derogatory manner.
